The highlights placement was completely different from what I asked for, the cut was significantly shorter than requested, and the styling honestly made everything look worse. I left feeling shocked and upset, especially given the price (450) and the salon's reputation. I'm posting this because I genuinely would like the salon to make this right, whether through a refund or correction with a different stylist.

I came for a bangs cut and trim, eyebrow and lip wax…read more The good: Eyebrows. The middling: My hair/bangs. Needs improvement: The upper lip. I had a super green hairstylist, very young probably knows how to do her own hair better than she knows how to cut hair. She listened to what I wanted tho, gave feedback on the pictures I presented, tried really hard. In a couple of years she will probably be a very good hairstylist. My bangs definitely look a little weird right now, I'm gonna have to give them a few weeks. I do wish she had cut them heavier though, cause my bangs will take a lot of styling to get them to fall on my forehead the way I want them. My layers are still pretty uneven, one side is longer than the other. I wish she had been able to fix those too but again, like I said she was very green and Supercuts it's cheap, so I'll live. Eyebrows is where this young one excelled. Super gentle touch, precise, my brows look awesome! I got stubbornly aggressive hairs on my upper lip that cannot be gently coaxed into abandoning their domain and this gal struggled to wax me. She was too gentle, didn't pull hard enough or pull my skin taut. The wax kept peeling off me instead of ripping the hair out. She had to ask her boss to help. The problem is that the only part the boss waxed was the corners of my upper lip where my lady stache is at my Frida Kahloiest. They didn't wax my actual upper lip and I still have hair there. I couldn't tell at the time by looking cause the hair was slicked down but when I got home I could still pull the hair there. So #fail. I'm gonna have to bleach it. Will stick with getting threaded.

Augusto is a skilled professional who gives you the best of both worlds; vision for a cut that is…read moresuitable to you, and respect for your wishes. He manages to blend these two sometimes divergent factors to create a gorgeous and manageable look FOR ANYONE. Case in point; I first heard of Augusto when at a restaurant I saw a woman in her early 20's whose hair was so stunning and flattering I just had to ask who her stylist was. She mentioned Augusto. Still leery of venturing out (what if this girls hair was a one-off? What if he gave the same exact haircut to every girl regardless of any other factor? What if my unruly hair is too much for this virtuoso to handle?) I did not call or make an appointment, just a mental note. Then, some time later, I met a woman in her mid 50's who had a completely different but equally flattering look. She happened to volunteer in conversation that she was a long time devotee of this Augusto that was recommended to me before. What? This as-yet-unknown-to-me man was able to cut two completely different hair styles for two completely different lengths and types of hair on women from two completely different generations, and pull off a striking look for both?? I was sold! As someone who knows relatively little about hair I am able to give him a very vague idea of what I have in mind and he inevitably will come up with something simply PERFECT. I have very thick, wavy, course hair which I have been told is a challenge to cut. Well, I know from personal experience that it is definitely a challenge to style!! Augusto changes all that. Every time I leave his chair I manage to feel gorgeous, with a cut that I am very happy with. Apparently I don't only feel gorgeous but also look that way, because I have been so many times complimented on my hair I have had to recommend so many people. Better still, I can always style the cut easily!! It's only a bonus that Augusto, through his professionalism and charisma, manages to make a friend of every client. He is friendly in a very unobtrusive way. Several very fun and interesting people wander into his shop, some of them for their hair appointment and others simply to stop by and say hello to Augusto and all of his guests. He will take his time on your hair and his painstaking attention to detail is seen in the results. You may have to wait a few moments, but it is one hundred percent worth it. I don't mind waiting as I know when the scissors hit my hair, the job will never be rushed. With my hair type, to be able to find a stylist who listens to your preferences, is able to find a cut that is very flattering for you within your desires, and makes it manageable for a novice to recreate at home on a daily basis, has proved a lifelong impossibility until now. Augusto is the needle in the haystack!!

I have thick, curly, often frizzy hair and I'm always nervous finding a place to get it cut (I've lived in the area for 8+ years and haven't yet found a place I'm comfortable going to regularly). As such, I hadn't gotten my hair cut in months (like, 8 months) prior to this appointment. I got my hair cut with Candace, and she looked at my hair dry and asked me around where I wanted it to hit afterwards, which I really appreciated with curls. She was able to blow dry it straight afterwards, and I was scared it was going to be too short once it dried curly. BUT, I was pleasantly surprised! It might have been 0.5-1 inch shorter than I anticipated, but it looked great! Deep Blue was the perfect combo of well priced with awesome results. and I might have finally found a place that I can go to regularly! P.S. The online appointment system is also pretty helpful.

I had to come back the last time so Candice could fix my cut, clearly annoyed, and left me with a choppy bang-like piece that I ended up fixing elsewhere. Then this last visit I showed her a photo of what I wanted - a very blunt shoulder length bob. Pretty simple. I was there 20 minutes tops and wasn't shown the back with a mirror, and when I got home and looked with my own mirror, I found the cut was uneven, angled, and longer at the front. Sure it looked nice after being blow dried, and I typically play around with my hair afterwards to to be sure the cut flows nicely, but I felt uncomfortably rushed with her standing at the register waiting for me. The floor should also be swept between each client. That was definitely my last visit there.
