The general manager we worked with, Luke Woodside, was exceptionally responsive and cooperative. We looked over the progress nightly and gave feedback regularly. Luke was always happy to work with us and incorporate our feedback. I could not have asked for a better GM. 2. Elkstone gave us discounts twice during the project. Once due to a better price we got on tile, and once due to a plumbing issue they made good on. 3. The salesman/designer we worked with, Chad Jarrell, was efficient and professional. His design only needed minor tweaks to match our preferences. The contract he provided was clear with no major surprises. 4. The overall cost (about $50k for about 750 total square feet) was high, but in-line with all other quotes we got. And the fact that they promised and did finish the project in about 5 weeks is incredible. Cons: 1. As with any contractors, we needed to keep a close eye on the project and give input to make sure everything in the design was met. This is not unique to Elkstone, but they are no exception. 2. There was an issue with the tile contractor needing to be a certain company that I did not like. 3. They said they would estimate the cost of permitting within $20, but they were off by well over $400. Not a huge deal, but annoying. Overall, I recommend Elkstone and would use them again.

I strongly regret choosing this contractor for our basement renovation. What should have been an…read moreexciting investment in our home became an extremely stressful, expensive, and disappointing experience. There were far too many problems to consider this acceptable workmanship or customer service. During the project, they broke our window--not once, but twice. They damaged our sliding door and caused significant damage to our large concrete patio that was ultimately deemed unrepairable. These are not minor inconveniences; these are substantial damages to a customer's property. What made the situation even worse was how these problems were handled. Instead of taking responsibility and working with us to resolve the issues, we were repeatedly made to feel as though the problems were somehow our fault. As customers, we were essentially blamed for issues that occurred during a construction project happening in our own home. We expected accountability and professionalism, instead, we experienced what felt like repeated attempts to deflect responsibility. The quality of the finished work was also unacceptable. Paint is already peeling from the trim and "custom cabinets" I was told the paint is just sticky and always will be...there were areas of work that were incomplete or needed to be redone. We will ultimately have to hire someone else to come in and fix these issues as Elkstone deemed the project completed. Not once did we feel that the company truly acknowledged the impact their mistakes had on us or took meaningful responsibility for them. Construction projects inevitably have problems. Mistakes can happen. What separates a good contractor from a bad one is how they respond when those mistakes happen. In our experience, the response was to minimize the problems, shift blame, and leave us to deal with the consequences. We trusted Elkstone with a major investment in our home, and that trust was unfortunately misplaced. We were left with damaged property, unfinished and defective work, additional contractor expenses, and an experience that was far more stressful than it ever should have been.

Countertops, backsplash, paint, popcorn ceiling removal, new metal stair rails, a full bathroom remodel, and they even turned an old coat closet into a pantry for us. Everything came out exactly how I pictured it. Pricing was fair, they stayed pretty close to schedule, and the work itself is just solid, quality stuff. They also went above and beyond on a few extra asks along the way, no complaints, Honestly hard to find someone this good across so many different types of work. Would hire them again in a second and recommend them to anyone who needs stuff done right.

It included engineered hardwood and porcelain tile flooring, Nuage slab counters everywhere, sinks, faucets, toilets... We did use outside electricians and painters, which we were told had to wait an entire week while the hardwood floors guy did his thing. I was texted a message by A Flores himself that the dude would straight up walk off the job if anyone else were there at the same time, even if they weren't interfering with his work. Because of this person's refusal to play nice with others, we had to stay in a hotel an additional week while the other work (baseboards, painting) got finished. I can't give five stars to this business, even though the owner is EXTREMELY clear when communicating and he'll never leave your messages hanging, waiting for a response. I did not like being responsible for buying/picking every single thing (sinks, faucets, a ton of flooring, caulk color) and it would've been nice to have had higher quality suggestions made so that I didn't feel I had to find my own materials. They did a great job on our niche, which has thinks like rounded ceramic tiles instead of the vile shluter thing that they had been planning on doing. There was also quite an issue with getting a double full bullnose edge to the counters: I assumed they were going to do that but they basically nickel and dimed us to get it the way we wanted. Lesson: be extremely careful when your project has a lot of moving parts (and people).

1 Star - Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I've worked with many contractors across multiple homes and offices, and this was by far the worst experience I've had. From start to finish there were major disconnects in communication. Expectations were not aligned, follow-through was inconsistent, and the quality of work did not meet professional standards. When I raised concerns about the workmanship and lack of accountability, instead of addressing the issues, the owner called me in an irate and confrontational manner. Rather than taking responsibility, he attempted to frame my concerns as a "threat" because I mentioned I would leave an honest public review and consider contacting the BBB and the licensing board. At no point did I threaten anything beyond sharing factual information about my experience. I simply expected the work to be done correctly and professionally. Unfortunately, this company did not stand behind their work, and the response to legitimate concerns was defensive and unprofessional. I would strongly recommend getting everything in writing and thoroughly vetting. Better yet, save your money & peace of mind. Use the other guy!!!

Working with Geiner and Emilio was effortless, and I really appreciated their input when it came to decisions we were either on-the-fence about, or if something we thought we wanted, wouldn't work for our space. They were able to customize our space per our requests, with really great recommendations along the way. They even kept their smiles the whole time our 2 tiny dogs tried to attack them. Beautiful work from an engaged, friendly, and affordable contracting company…read more Geiner and Emilio from CR Tile & Painting are excellent, accurate, and reasonably inexpensive contractors. They accommodated my needs as a confused, nervous disabled first-time homeowner. "I've never owned a home before," is my mantra. I have cerebral palsy, which means I need ADA-compliant mobility aids in the bathroom and hallway. And bariatric, static-loadbearing fixtures that can withstand grueling daily use are hard enough for a chronically ill homeowner to find. But Geiner and Emilio found them, installed them, and adjusted everything to correct my mistakes throughout the renovation. They made my family very comfortable about the process from day one to the last. And they worked much harder than previous more expensive contractors did, without any of the problematic hidden "add-ons" other contractors tried to force on us. Once, they even rescued me from an extremely painful fall outside where no one else saw me stumble! And the work they did, from setting the tiles to hanging our family heirloom mirror to the very difficult sink-vanity? It all looked beautiful in the end. I highly recommend CR Tile & Painting to anyone who needs tile, painting, bathroom appliances, and subflooring repairs.
