Does Colorado Engine work on older vehicles, before 2004?

I drove out there and talked to them about a re-manufactured engine as well as one that was used.

The bad The service advisors aren't very knowledgeable and they try and price gauge you like crazy, i understand trying to run a business and having to deal with cost but being greedy is not the answer not in this economy. I.E i called for a quote on a transmission oil change on my truck they told me it was gonna be 900+! Outrageous when my ford dealer was gonna charge half and then the local mechanic 300! Also the lying on parts used is crazy. Service advisor said " it takes two filters on the transmission and you need to drop the valve body" when you google search ford 10r80 transmission oil change and tell me if it has 2 filters with one behind the valve body I will gladly eat my own words and pay the 900+ if I'm wrong! Take aways great place to fix complicated things for sometimes cheaper than the dealer please be very weary and google what your problem is and don't always believe what the advisors have to say!!

It ceased opening and closing automatically and would not latch in the closed position. She tried taking it back to the selling company and other Subaru dealers to help resolve the problem with no success as to the reason or the resolution of the issue. Seyfer whom we have used for now on to 45+ years for our vehicles figured out the issue, ordered the parts and resolved the issue the following day. Let me start off by saying it pains me to do this. I have a soft spot for small, family owned…read morebusinesses, as they tend to be the best. However, what happened to me with Performance Auto was flagrantly unacceptable. They did a shabby job on my timing belt replacement, by installing out of time to begin with. Also, they did not include the slinger plate, which allowed it to become even more out of time and caused damage to the cam seals and the belt itself by the belt rubbing on surrounding structures, with the belt being so loose without the slinger plate. However, I only find this out after spending over $100 to have another shop in Colo Springs, where I live, diagnose why the vehicle runs poorly and has an intermittent check engine light. And, the estimate is over $400 to redo the whole belt replacement, as well as replace the aforementioned damaged parts. All of this was okay, in and of itself, as I understand mistakes are made and things happen. However, no attempts were made by Jessie, the owner, to reimburse this unnecessary expense to me which I should not have been responsible for. With the timing belt in that state, serious engine damage was imminent, something known to all mechanics, including the variety of personal and professional ones I asked regarding driving it to Denver. Having told Jessie all of this, he first simply refused to help me in the expense of having the belt reinstalled properly in the Springs. Again, this was okay, I can understand if they want to see it. Then, Jessie refused to pick up the expense of having it towed to them from the Springs. And finally, refused to be responsible for any possible engine damage incurred in driving it to them since I had to somehow get it to them for them to make it right, and since I was presented no other options. I don't have a magic carpet on which to float it there. Even when I explained that I was extremely uncomfortable driving the vehicle so far, that it's as much a matter of my own safety as ruining the engine, driving such an unsafe vehicle down the interstate with an engine which might seize up and cause me to lose control...I was still stonewalled. So which is it? You have to do something, something has to give. I was willing to provide various proof of the findings of the other shop, including pictures, to prove my statements of the timing belt. I would have been happy with being reimbursed for towing. But no, I'm supposed to eat all of the related expenses which are not my fault, including hundreds of dollars to have it towed so far, defeating the purpose of even taking it there. Or seriously risk a disaster, totaling the engine at least. How this all was handled isn't how it works. It was plain flat simply wrong. You stand behind your work completely, not partially or only as is convenient to you. You mess something up, you help make it right every step of the way. The staff I spoke to were nonchalant, coolly carefree and unapologetic in any conversations with them. They would not even call Jessie to address the problem and help me in my dilemma until the weekend had passed, while I was without a safe vehicle to drive. While I hold no grudge against them, I do believe this place has no business even being in business, and I am relating events as they actually occurred, without exaggeration. Please, don't get me wrong. You may have a good experience with them. Or you may not. Just be very, very careful. And you can take that to heart

When I picked it up on 10/07/13, the mechanic and owner, Jesse, assured me that it was fixed and he had replaced the catalytic convertor and that it would now pass emissions. I had it retested for emissions the following day and it once again failed, and I had to pay an additional $25 out of pocket for a retest. At this point I dropped it off with JC Auto Electric on 10/14/13, and Jesse said that he would stand by his warranty (1 year on parts and labor) and fix it so it would pass emissions. My car stayed at the shop for exactly 1 week. Several times throughout the week I called to see if my car had been worked on, and what the diagnosis was. Whenever I would call Jesse would give me the runaround, saying that they were busy and that they still had not had the chance to look at it. Finally on 10/21/13 Jesse called me and said that my vehicle was done, and that I could pick it up. When I arrived at the shop, I once again asked Jesse if my vehicle was fixed, and he assured me that it would pass emissions. When I got in my car to leave I immediately noticed a shoebox, an apple core, several gum wrappers, a pair of glasses that weren't mine and some chewed gum stuck to my dash. I found this a little disconcerting, but I was going to leave anyway. When I started up my car I noticed that my gas tank was on empty and that someone had put (driven) 196 miles on my vehicle. I know this to be true, as I filled up the gas tank and reset the tripometer right before dropping it off at the mechanic. At that point I confronted Jesse with the evidence that someone had been joyriding in my car and had drained my gas tank. He adamantly denied this, even though my vehicle was in his care, control and custody the whole time. The work that was being done to my car should have involved minimal driving on his part, so 200 miles more on the odometer is egregious! I then drove home and thoroughly inspected the vehicle inside and out. While doing this I discovered more trash, including empty beer bottles, in the vehicle along with gum imbedded in the carpet and several stains to the carpeting that I could not remove. I contacted the Denver Police Department and filed a police report for unlawful use of a vehicle and theft of gasoline. On 10/22/13 I once again took off work early and drove to the emissions testing station and paid $25 for a restest. For the third time my vehicle failed the test. This time the vehicle actually failed worse than the previous 2 times I had it tested! I then drove immediately to JC Auto Electric and showed Jesse the 3rd failed emissions test, confronted him with the additional evidence that I had of him joyriding in my vehicle, and demanded a refund. Jesse once again denied joyriding in my car, so I confronted his other mechanic. I got the mechanic to begrudgingly admit that he was the one driving my vehicle around unauthorized. At that point I threatened to call immigration on the second mechanic and he blew up on me, got in my face and then disappeared somewhere. When I once again demanded a refund from Jesse, he pleaded with me to let him fix it. He said that this time he would definitely fix the problem. I responded by telling him he was crazy if he thought I was going to leave my car there again after it had been driven unlawfully, they had trashed the interior and still had not resolved the problem. I once again demanded my money back and told Jesse that I had already filed a police report. At that point he became enraged and told me that I was not going to receive a refund. I then called Denver Police Department to resolve the problem. The responding officer said that he would testify on my behalf when I take Jesse and JC Auto Electric to civil court.
