. 2/14 update avoid color me rude I returned for the fill, i noticed some weird vibes halfway through my fill & i heard the blonde lady next to me ask who left the bad review or something along those lines her loud self then goes she's here now? i look over and she's looking right at me as if she's never seen a person before. i shrug it off like eh, i don't care. i noticed afterward the workers there looking at me funny. when i was paying to leave mimi tells me as she hands me my card... that fixing one nail can take 15-20 minutes and she went there... i inform she has been nice but it's all about being nice aka rude linda. i was on the phone most the time and noticed all this once i was almost done thankfully. so I had called ahead for me and my 2 friends to come in. One pedicure, one full set manicure and one manicure fill. We were told to come at 11:15. Upon getting there, everyone was busy. 2/3 of us sat for an hour and 20 minutes waiting to get service while my other friend was getting work done. The lady who was working on my friend, let me know she would help me out when she was done doing my friends nails. I told her when I got there at 11:15 that I wanted a design. She had originally said OK to that. I now show her the design and she tells me that she doesn't have enough time to do that because she has another person coming in 45 minutes and if I could do something simpler. I told her OK but I wanted to do acrylic. She then tells me that she can't do acrylic either. It has to be gel X because she doesn't have time. She proceeded to do the worst manicure I've ever had. I really wish I took pictures of it, but I was so over it that within two hours I went to another place and got my nails redone. My nails were crooked, uneven & too thin. Why tell me to come in at a certain time just to not be able to do anything that I'd like?From acrylics to wanting to a design? You shouldn't have told me to come in and then not give me the service I requested because you had somebody else coming in. Respectfully, that's not my problem and you could've had me come later instead of having me sit around for an hour and a half just to tell me that everything I wanted to do wasn't possible. Went to get acrylics and they did great for what I needed however when it was finally time to take the acrylics off I didn't expect them to literally rip them off... they shoved their metal flathead tool in between my real nail and acrylic and started ripping it off from my natural nail... no oil no prep, just dry fingers and nails..... I've never felt so violated before. I was also especially happy because by this time my nails had grown out from being short and I was excited to put gel polish on them and let them naturally grow however along with them ripping the acrylic off they actually ripped layers of my nail itself... this seemed like the norm here and I felt I couldn't say anything.. my heart broke and I felt so violated... there were times it hurt and I pulled back (making conscious of when to pull back since it can hurt more depending on when you pull your hands back from them) My conclusion is, the basic nail art might be pretty and some of the people are nice but be careful when it comes to taking the acrylics off... read more

I couldn't believe how much time I've wasted at other places waiting for my turn when I could have been here saving time! John, Lisa, Mimi are all amazing nail techs. They have many other services they offer but I have not used any except nails and eyebrow wax. They are gentle and do amazing at shaping your eyebrows. Lastly, their pricing is fair! I've given this place several chances, but they continue to disappoint. Today, I went in just to get my eyebrows cleaned up and was very specific with the owner about what I wanted. However, when she finished, half of my eyebrows were gone! She claimed it looked nicer, but it wasn't what I asked for. It took me so long to grow them out, and she completely disregarded my wishes. I'm seeing a lot of negative comments and I honestly think they're from bogus 1 time customers that didn't get their way. Mimi and the rest of the staff always go above and beyond to satisfy their customers. Yes most of the time you will need an appointment because they are always busy! I schedule my appointments 2 weeks before! You can't be a walk-in customer and expect to be helped right away. As for their cleanliness, I have been coming here for over 3 years and I see them practice clean sanitation of their tools. I find it very hard to believe that someone would get fungus from them because they use brand new sterile packs of tools on every single one of their customers and right after they throw them away. I'm really happy with this nail salon, I recently switched places and found that scheduling here is super convenient, sometimes they can even get you in the same day. They aren't a big fancy salon, but don't let their size fool you , their attention to detail is impressive, they cost way less and the service I found to be better. I'm also impressed w their work. At the bigger fancier salon I was paying twice as much and often found that my nails wouldn't last the full two weeks because often times the bigger places over book and rush to get you out not being as carful or precise, color nails is now my regular salon, my nails last longer, look better and I never feel rushed out. If your looking for a new place for services I'd check this place out , nothing frilly just good service good product for a nice price which really helps in todays economy. John is my nail technician at color nails and I'm super impressed with his work. The salon is also clean and sanitary practices are followed strictly from my experiences. Unacceptable service. A one star doesn't do justice. I've been getting my nails done consistently with Tuha for 3 months now (my family convinced me for months to check it out). I'm the type of the person that gets to my appointments at least 5-10 min early but this morning I was a few min late due to unexpected traffic. I would normally be rushing but I decided to take my time because she didn't respect my time at my last appt. Last time she made me wait over 35 min because she decided to take her clients daughter last minute. When I walked in today it's as if she saw a ghost. She did not welcome me and I was pulling words out of her mouth. Little do I find out that the she ended up calling another client to come in instead because she assumed I forgot about my appointment. Her excuse was she didn't have my number to contact me. Are you kidding me? How do you take client appts without a phone number? We went back and forth and I called her out for what she did last time. She got extremely defensive and lied to my face. She used soaking my gel as an excuse. It doesn't take over half an hour to soak off gel. I straight up heard her client ask if she can quickly take her daughter too, I watched her go over and observe her daughters nails AND as her client was leaving she asked if her next appt would only be for her. She refused to respect my appointment that I had booked 3 weeks in advance and didn't even try to accommodate. She asked if it would be ok if someone else did my nails this time. HAHA did you really think there was going to be a next time? The owner of the salon started to soak my gel and didn't even have the audacity to look at my face or say a single word when she needed to communicate and grab my hand. What a shame. Tuha, I hope it was worth losing a client and my whole family for the few extra dollars of tip that your favorite client was probably leaving. Not to mention her client started arguing with me too when she arrived. She won't take you seriously if you're a young adult. She didn't even take the time or effort to massage my sisters hands after her mani the other week. I give this place negative stars for their unprofessional service, attitude, and uncleanliness. Not to mention they're all barefoot in there while working. Here is a photo that doesn't do justice for how gross it is. What kind of a salon uses paper towels instead of regular towels anyways? It's not worth it for the price. You're better off paying a few more dollars elsewhere for a decent salon experience. I'm obviously never coming back again. I'm surprised I never gave a review for this place!! It's kind of a ritual I've started a few years back. My way of bribing myself to get an oil change is to treat myself to a manicure across the street. Everyone here is super nice! I've always walked in and had to wait no longer than 30 mins. It beats waiting at the auto shop. They easily have a 1000 colors to choose from. It can be a bit overwhelming so come with a color in mind. Today I got white nails with a glitter ring finger. John put on three coats. Usually other nails places will give you crappy thin coats of nail polish. But here, they make sure that the nails are perfect! For the price, it's a steal! Shine my nails pretty and call me Ms. Fancy hands! Looked everywhere in the Northridge/Woodland Hills area for someone who does nail gel. I came across only a handful of places, most charging up the wazoo. Thankfully I found this place offering fast, inexpensive, friendly services and an extra added bonus is that it's close to my house. I am not one that loves sitting in any type of spa for long periods of time & although at times my nails, body, hair, etc. may be in dire need of help I always find myself wanting the whole process to be over and done with in a flash. Instead of relaxing my mind likes to continue at lighting speed giving me the urge to want to go-go-go. So combining fast service and still receiving great work is a miracle in itself. Yes I would say I'm a happy bee. When I called to make my appointment I asked specifically for John based of the previous reviews I've read. He met every expectation; he's fast, clean, and friendly and does good work. All together plus tip I spent $48.00, this was for the gel manicure and a regular pedicure. Love that price tag! Compared to other places that offer gel polish this is actually a good price. One thing to keep in mind is they don't have spa pedicures they do it the old fashion way with a bucket of water and soap, they change the lining on the bucket per customer. As for the way they sanitize their tools, I'm not exactly sure how they do it, how often they do or if they do. It's the only thing that makes me a little skeptical about this place, thus the reason I minus a star. = ) read more
