The Colonial Oak Music Park is the best intimate (meaning low capacity) outdoor music venue in NE FLA. They typically have free concerts on Thursday through Saturday from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Along with ticketed shows which include national touring acts of most music genres. Of course, the Colonial Oak Music Park is available for private events (Weddings, retirement parties, and baby showers to name a few). Visitors should keep in mind it is outdoors and subjected to various weather conditions as well as insects; just like anywhere else outdoors in Florida. Seating is on a first come first serve basis. No outside chairs or coolers are permitted. There are 2 bars located adjacent to the stage and a bar in the lounge. Big courtyard with a live band playing on a stage next to a beer & spirits shack called Pescado (Fish) and across from a pub called St Augustine Seafood Company where we had a few cold beers. What a great little venue for live music. There's a couple of spots you can buy alcohol and a spot for food. As I understand it, you can basically come and go as you please even during ticketed events. All the staff I encountered were friendly and welcoming. Capacity is 250 seats and 300 standing. First come first served on seats so decide when to arrive based on that info. For the ticketed events, time posted was door opening with shows starting an hour later. The KISS ALIVE tribute act we saw was spot on. The guy playing Gene had the mannerisms down and even did the blood spitting and fire breathing. Well worth the price of admission. Three Male singers who did some covers but they also sang a lot of their own songs. We were lucky to get seats right on the front row. It turned out to be a lot of standing in the back. What a special place to see live, many times local, music. The setting, under the oaks is perfect for a relaxed evening after a stroll on St. George St, dinner downtown, or just as a destination for entertainment. The diversity of musical genres (and stand-up comedy too) is impressive. I've seen two country bands play and they were both great. The second band tours the southeast from their hometown of Jacksonville. Both groups played cover tunes as well as original music. Seating is rustic. The ample number of picnic tables and benches make it easy to find a spot, but keep in mind, seating is just that, picnic tables and wooden benches. An impressive selection of beers and cocktails are available at fairly reasonable prices. There is a booth that appears to be run by the St Augustine Distillery, but it's never been open when I'm there. I'd love to see what they offer. Don't be like me and think this place is a tourist trap or that you have to have tickets (although some shows do require purchasing a ticket). Step on in, grab a beer and a seat and relax to some great entertainment. read more

Awesome place to go to check out live music. We caught the Juno Dunes show and it was amazing! Great, chill vibe. The courtyard is perfect with great food and drink options. Hubby and I found Colonial Oak Music Park while walking around St. Augustine a couple weeks ago. We had seen this venue several times, however, never went in. And wow, what a cool hidden gem it was. We walked in while a young male country artist was singing on stage. He was awesome! Nice voice, unique songs and awesome guitar playing. The causal setting was really perfect for live music. While walking along George St on a less-humid Sunday afternoon at the end of September, we heard music coming from a fenced courtyard area, and I spotted signage for the Sing Out Loud music festival. Intrigued, we wandered inside & found an empty picnic table under the giant oak trees. For the following half hour, we enjoyed the end of a set by Amy Hendrickson, a very talented local musician, as she performed her own works and also a great version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. This centrally located open-air venue in St Augustine's Colonial District offers a musical respite from the busy touristy areas, with reasonably priced food service available via mobile app ordering, and small bars on either side of the stage. With lots of shade and plenty of seating, I could've easily spent the entire afternoon here. What a great outdoor performance space! read more

I was lucky enough to catch ivibes jamming out and they put on a really good show. Just sitting at the picnic tables chilling out cool vibes and a cold drink on a perfect Saturday night. This is the place you want to check out don't miss it. I'm pretty sure they have live shows every Friday, Saturday night and Sunday during the day. We have stopped by a few times. We made it a point to actually stay for awhile and hang out. We needed to wear out our three year old lol! We sat towards the back as the music was really loud and it being a classic rock band, we wouldn't have been able to chat. It's great because you're able to get a drink and the kids have freedom to roam. The drinks run about $6-$12 which is what you would expect. There are people of all ages and the music genre changes night to night. The bar tenders were super friendly and helpful when deciding what to drink. read more

We heard that this was the place to come for live music. It is, but keep this in mind, they close around 10pm. We didn't realize that and arrived around 9pm so we only caught the last set of a good blues band. The atmosphere here reminds me of Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa, as it is under the oaks and there are lots of picnic tables around. One big difference is that at Skippers the crowd would be dancing. Here everyone was just sitting around watching the band or visiting with their table mates. There is a bar on each side of the stage. I felt like the bartenders were a little slow at the bar where I was served. There were only a few people in front of me and there were two bartenders. I don't know if one person was in training or the people in front of me were slow but it seemed like it was longer than it should have been. We did hear from our VRBO neighbors that you can get food from the attached restaurant but the said it was not worth it. Glad we stuck to just drinks. We will be back next time we visit St. Augustine and we will arrive earlier to hear more of the music. read more

It was such a delight to have accidentally stumbled upon Colonial Oak Music Park. We were walking around the area and heard some really good live music, looked through a doorway, and discovered this beautiful, fun hidden gem! There's a stage facing a large area with tons of picnic tables, with gorgeous oak tries and beautiful lanterns. Such a simple yet gorgeous venue. The crowd was mixed but not rowdy at all - young, old, families, pirates - you'll find everything here! We had just had dinner nearby so we didn't have any food or drinks; we simply sat and enjoyed the music and company. The band was fantastic and everyone was having a good time. This is definitely my kind of place! I'm so glad we decided to peep through the doorway and discover Colonial Oak Music Park. I'll definitely spend more time here next time I'm in St. Augustine! read more

This place couldn't be cooler. Between the open bench seating and the string lights hanging from the giant signature oak tree, you really feel like you're at a big community backyard gathering when you attend a show here. There's two small bar carts to serve up some drinks as you enjoy the music or performance of your choice, and most of the time these acts are free to come see. That's right, free. The sound is great and there's a small clear area by the stage to dance if you choose to do so. They host all different sorts of individuals and groups and are always part of the large-scale community events such as the Sing Out Loud music festival which spanned three back-to-back weekends. I like that they feature varying levels: local, regional, even nationally-known. It's right in the heart of the downtown St. George street area, so there have been times I find myself just wanting to sit amidst my exploring so I'll pop in for a half an hour or so, then head back on my way. What's not to like about this hidden gem of a spot?! I stayed at St. George Inn last year and discovered this wonderful piece of property. I love decor, the tables, & the little "Bar". Last night I bought three sangrias for my friends and I to enjoy the cute band, Just Chameleons that came up from Tallahassee. Kat's singing reminded me of Amy Winehouse type voice. My friends, Kim and Dee enjoyed hearing the band play as much as I did. I wanted to get up and dance, but never did. The only minus is I did not see any charging stations to charge up my iPhone. Some tourists asked us where the best place around was, so we told them where we were going and they followed us! They had a great time. They thanked us for showing them where to go to have a great time. Well all had fun! read more

I love how the stage is rustic and the audience is seated at picnic tables under the HUGE oak trees with beautiful lanterns and lights hanging like stars in the sky. We were able to sit with friends and family or strangers that later became friends as we all enjoyed the music. However, I noticed that the musicians provide all the equipment which can have an impact on the sounds. Maybe in the future, this venue can consider a house sound system. read more

What a great place to stumble upon! Me and my girlfriend were on vacation and hanging out in Historic St. Augustine when we saw signs for a blues concert happening here. We decided to drop in and check it out - what a great decision! Such a cool little open air music venue canopied with trees and string lights. It was a fun and romantic little spot to hang out at. They also had beer and cocktails for sale at two different stands. This was an amazing way to close out one of our last nights in town.
