TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Mary Claire YELLED at me, while the ENTIRE cast of Rhinoceros (a satire play that is PRO-FASCISM I think) PUSHED me around and made LOUD noises. Or, at least that's what it felt like watching that show. I hated the environment, and everyone's attitude was cold and distant, like they dreamt of working in a better theater, perhaps this same one but years ago. The show took fucking forever (20 minutes of transitions ALONE) and yet I feel like I learned/saw nothing new or interesting. read more

This theater should not try English accents with their average at best acoustics, my wife, hearing aids, good ones, got nothing, I got maybe half, my hearing is above average for my age, 83. I missed every punch line. We left at intermission, if we return, of musicals only. read more

Great experience and value for some local quality theatre. Very diverse cast. Mixed caliber of cast talent did not deter from the experience because everyone tried so hard to entertain the audience. Some impressive young up and comers will surely be successful as they gain experience. Some pretty powerful voices. Glad they dimmed the lights at the end so you could wipe yours tears before embarrassing yourself.....lol. Will be back to see other shows. Thanks for a wonderful evening. read more

I was taken to a musical revue called Ring of Fire this weekend with a friend. A coworker also was in the show..expecting to be, well community theatre I was given a BIG surprise. The show was phenomenal. I have no other words for it!! I have to admit Johnny Cash isn't my favorite, however I knew most songs and when I didn't the actors encouraged you to clap along. One of the songs/acts were my favorite...Delia. Played by a newcomer to the stage but has had a long musical career. if I remember correctly his name was Rob Langston. ( I don't have the program in front of me) With this said..all of the actors and actress' were individually amazing!! I highly suggest you get down there and see this show while available. You won't be sorry...especially if you like Johnny Cash. read more

This is a great little local theater. I have seen several productions and just last night "The Miss Firecracker Contest" a Southern gothic tale, written by Beth Henley. There is a good pool of local actors, some from Jacksonville, Flagler College, St. Johns County Center for the Arts. The operative definition here is charming local. read more

This is a very nice small town style theater. It seats around 125, there is local art on the walls, a nice atrium and the stage itself is big enough to give the actors some space to move. The environment was very nice and very comfortable. We enjoyed it immensely and will become regular patrons. read more

Went to see "Cabaret" last and could not believe how wonderful a small theater production could present this musical. The cast were outstanding with Michael Beeman as the emcee being a true star of the show. I first saw this play with Joel Grey and Mr. Beeman was an equal. Great job, keep it up, I'll be back. This is total community theater - small seating area means no bad seat in the house (and to be honest I was impressed with the amount of leg room!), friendly staff and volunteers, and passionate performers/musicians from the local area. We went to see Miracle on 34th Street, The Musical. We are fans of the movie and my parents had won tickets to a show of their choice, so this seemed like a good holiday activity. I hadn't seen the musical and while it has some differences from the movie, it certainly has enough similarities that the storyline is true for fans with some great musical numbers full of humor to keep you laughing and on the edge of your seat. The theater probably seats about 100 or so people, so you are close to the performers and they used the space well in terms of the stage, aisles and scenery changes. The staff was friendly and it was easy to purchase my ticket over the phone with the box office and it was waiting for me upon arrival. It has its own parking lot as well as ample, free street parking just outside. It was a fun night out with a bit of culture and the ability for us to support the local community artists. I would certainly return to Limelight Theatre when visiting my parents in the future, schedules permitting (worth getting tickets early if there is a show you really want to see as the size means that they often sell out as we learned when trying to plan our outing). read more

One month ago, I purchased tickets in upgraded seats for tonight's show to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Upon arrival we were informed that the director had forbidden use of the seats we purchased. Our options were to be separated in available seats scattered throughout the theatre or to have two temporary and obstructed seats placed in the rear of the theatre. This is the second week of the play (with the same seating restrictions) and no one had the decency, courtesy, or customer service mentality to inform us BEFORE we drove from Ponte Vedra to St. Augustine for this intended celebration of our anniversary. There are more deserving and appreciative arts organizations for my investment! read more
