Fried haddock sammich was pretty good. Can't really complain. Able to seat our big family and accommodate us for a birthday dinner.

The Nest Tavern - The Nest Tavern in Apulia Station, NY

We visited The Nest Tavern and it was very good!…read more We were on a mission to take a long and winding ride through the country to see some early fall foliage, and I had been wanting to check out The Nest Tavern, located in the quaint area of Apulia Station, right near Lafayette. there was plenty of parking available on the right hand side, and we walked into the VERY RUSTIC and cozy bar/restaurant. A very busy, but friendly bartender informed me that they didn't have waitress service, but customers could simply order at the bar and then be notified with a convenient little remote buzzer that their food was ready. We both ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger, which had nice sautéed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese on it along with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. We took a walk on the wild side and ordered tater tots along with our burgers and they were very tasty with a little ketchup drizzled on them. Yes, we normally opt for slightly healthier sides with our meals, but the tater tots sounded and tasted really good! We both devoured our meals and finished every bite and truth be told, did not eat another thing again that day because we were so full. One thing I liked about the is that the restaurant has these nice little, square stainless steel mesh, condiment caddies with everything you need in it that you can take right to your table. Another great feature about this establishment as that they routinely have live music performances every week from May through September and have a tall, covered, wooden pavilion for the bands to perform under with ample seating, tables, and bar service available. Our bill came to just $30 plus tip and we thought that was very reasonable, considering the friendly atmosphere, good food, and quality service. We will definitely be back, perhaps in the spring when the trees are blooming, and the first band of the season is ready to hit the stage. Food: Service: Atmosphere:

We arrived just as a local band was getting ready for a three hour set (4-7pm) on a Sunday afternoon. Cover charge was $5.00 each. There were quite a few people there, but there was still room to sit in the spacious outdoor deck/stage area. There's also an outside bar area to grab a drink, instead of having to run inside to the regular bar. Food was available, but we did not try anything. The indoor vathrooms were pretty small, but served the purpose. The music was very good, the sound was loud enough, without blaring out of the speakers. There's a roof over the outside deck, but it's in different sections, so the sun does shine though in areas, making it a little hot when it's hitting you. Our only complaint would be the amount of people that were smoking. There is no way to get away from the cigarette smoke wafting in your face. Other than that, it seems like a great venue to enjoy some live music, a drink and a bite to eat. We definitely plan on going back.

The mushrooms were barely cooked, and the sandwich was dry. I even requested au jus in an attempt to salvage it, but unfortunately that didn't help. To make matters worse, my side salad was initially forgotten. To the server's credit, she removed the sandwich from my bill and offered to bring me something else. However, by that point I had lost confidence in the meal and declined. I ultimately ended up eating only the side salad. While the service recovery was appreciated, the food itself was a major disappointment. In the end, the only thing I ate was the side salad, which cost $8 on its own. While I appreciate the server's efforts to make things right, the food quality and execution were far below expectations. I left hungry, disappointed, and unlikely to return.

The inside is very nice and big, we took sat at the bar because we were just having a drink and appetizer. They didn't have a drink menu, which I thought was odd. However, the bartender made us a delicious drink she said her version of Bay Breeze was a Sunset Pines, and we got two for $15. They were amazing!! We just went with the mozzarella sticks for $9 for our munchie and they were good.

The food has always been " top Sysco" truck stuff - kind of like an Applebee's or something. I don't even know how to put my finger on it. Maybe it's the smaller menu due to 'Rona. Maybe they have a new chef - but WOW!! They've really stepped up their game! The Spinach and Artichoke Dip app was handmade. It wasn't some overly creamed out of a can dip. The ingredients were big and tasty! In fact, I only really have pictures of the after because we ate it so fast! The wife had her usual Steak Salad and the steak was done better than ever. I nervously ordered the Reuben - knowing full well in upstate NY it often is devoid of anything but a tiny bit of Sauerkraut. Everything on this Sammie was perfect NYC grade. The corned beef had a smoky hint to it. The cheese and thousand island dressing were perfectly portioned. The Mac salad side had this amazing mustard taste to it. Drinks were great. Staff picked up on us quick even though we were sitting on a packed deck next to a fairly demanding large party. Always nice and always trying to please. Did I mention the view? We love it so much we literally just bought a house that shares a border with this golf course with the same view! If you are in the area, is it Beak and Skiff, have a tasting, but for sure eat and enjoy the sunset at the Loft! This is a must visit.

We started with the New England clam chowder and it was amazing! My husband got the chefs choice which was the short rib, the mashed potatoes were bland but otherwise great plate. I got the Jamin sunset burger which was amazing, messy but so good! Danielle is our favorite waitress there, she is always so attentive and makes every visit a pleasant one. We will definitely be back next season!

A Hidden Gem at Song Mountain -- Exceptional Cuisine and Impeccable Service!…read more What an incredible dining experience at Heuga Restaurant at Song Mountain in Tully, New York! From the warm, inviting atmosphere to the impeccable service and extraordinary food, our evening was truly memorable. The love Executive Chef Ramone puts into his menu can be tasted in every single bite. His creativity, passion, and attention to detail shine through in every dish. This isn't simply a chef preparing a meal; this is someone who genuinely loves his craft. The fig and Brie crostini was an incredible combination of flavors. Every bite was bursting with the delightful pop of fresh pomegranate seeds, perfectly complementing the creamy Brie and sweetness of the fig. Such a thoughtful combination! The pistachio-crusted halibut was absolutely delicious. And the butternut squash purée? Unbelievable! I normally don't even like butternut squash, but I genuinely couldn't stop eating it. When a chef can make you fall in love with an ingredient you typically don't enjoy, that says something about his talent! What also impressed me was the quality and thoughtfulness of the dishes. No unnecessary fillers like potatoes or bread to take up space on the plate. Just exceptional ingredients, beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. Even the cocktails were special, including my sour apple margarita! A special thank-you to Andrew, our waiter, whose service was absolutely impeccable. His attentiveness and professionalism contributed so much to our wonderful evening. Exceptional service can elevate a dining experience, and Andrew certainly did just that. We also had the pleasure of meeting Executive Chef Ramone when he personally visited our table. It was wonderful to meet the talented person behind such an extraordinary meal and have the opportunity to take his picture. Heuga is so much more than a restaurant at a ski mountain. It's a culinary destination worth experiencing. Congratulations to Chef Ramone, Andrew, and the entire Heuga team for creating something truly special.
