Is it just me, or do you walk into a restaurant to order food for the family (today it was 2 adults…read moreand one very hungry 8-year-old) and order what you think is an adequate amount of food... only to second-guess yourself and add a little more? Today I started with ordering a one meat and a two-meat meal . . . then the internal debate started and I questioned if it was enough? So I added a sausage and a jalapeño cornbread. Once we got home the food was ripped open and scarfed down, and within minutes everyone was full -- and we had only eaten about half of what we ordered. Thank goodness no one in my family complains about leftovers, especially when it's BBQ. Quality serving sizes, robust flavor, and incredibly thoughtful service. Perfect ribs, brisket to drool over, and tender pulled pork (as I'm trying to avoid the "m" word... it definitely wasn't dry). Our sides included mac and cheese, candied yams, baked beans, and cornbread -- and the candied yams are not to be missed.

We ended up getting a brisket plate with mac and cheese and yams. We also got the pulled pork sandwhich. The brisket was a 10/10 the brisket literally falls off as you eat it!!! The Mac and cheese was also good! The yams are on the sweeter side! Service was good. You walk up and basically pick your order from their menu. Then pay for it after. Seating is limited outside but they do have a lot of indoor seating. It is a bit on the pricier side, I think we paid over $50 for both of our plates. I do wish the brisket plate came with a bit more! However bbq is in general Pretty expensive. I will say that I will be returning to try the items I was unable to try last time!

I have not properly dented the magic that is Mitote. We went recently with some friends and I was…read moreobligated to order from several trucks because so many things sounded amazing. I ordered a quesadilla from Pezcow which is always a treat since it is made with masa rather than flour tortillas. It was delicious but the gal gave me a buzzer that didn't work, so the food sat for who knows how long before I finally checked in, that's always disappointing. I also ordered from Yuca Mami which was exceptional! They have good pricing structure going, you can order 3 of a mix and match for a flat rate. I had both empanadas, and the panucho. Everything was delicious and gluten free which is always a bonus! When we went they didn't have alcohol yet; I think they've added it back now in the new location. Not really a deal breaker for me, but the option is nice. I think the layout is nice, parking lot is generous to be able to find a spot. Plenty of covered seating which is nice to not bake in the sun while enjoying your food. I wanted to try the tlayuda from Lucha Sabina but the line was crazy long; next time. Mushroom tacos are also on my radar for the next visit. Till next time!

The five of us ventured out to find Mitote Food Park. We had heard it had moved from its original…read morespot but it was still located on Sebastopol Road. It is easy to find and they have a parking lot which was convenient. As we entered the area we could see many food trucks parked near each other, sort of in a circle. There is also a large canopy over the entire middle with lots of picnic tables and additional seating under patio umbrellas. Music was playing but we found only three trucks open and serving lunch on this Wed. I saw a churro truck but sadly it was closed too. We visited all three trucks to check out their menus and I decided to order a quesadilla at Lucha Sabina. Some people near us were enjoying something called a Tlayuda from this same truck and it looked amazing! I will have to give that a try next time with my husband because it is big enough to serve two. I had heard that the mushroom tacos were delicious so I asked if they could make a mushroom quesadilla and she said yes. She mentioned avocado would make it extra tasty so of course I added it. I'm so glad she offered that up because it was a key ingredient in my yummy quesadilla. It was grilled perfectly and I was all smiles from the first bite. This place was a hit with all my buddies too. We liked that they gave us each a beeper so we could sit down and chat until our food was ready. My friends all enjoyed their selections but none of us tried anything exotic, just tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. People working were very personable and helpful. We'll have to come back during dinner hour as I'm sure there will be more food trucks warming up their grills to satisfy everyone's cravings.
