They were very neat! Here's the crew gathering and collecting debris from the tear off of the old roof.
    Topher C.

Every single time it rains, we do a little dance at home -- not really for the much-needed rain, but rather for our new roof. We couldn't be more pleased with the work by Collins Roofing. I was immediately impressed by Michael Collins when I met him. You know how you just know right away when someone's a good egg? I knew immediately that Michael would be solid in the running for our job, and that it would be a pleasure working with him. He showed up punctually for our first meeting, took thorough notes, was very clear about how he would proceed and what to expect of him and his crew, and his office provided a thorough and substantive estimate quickly. We had a number of bids, and while his was one of the pricier ones, it also came with the most significant warranty. It also seemed evident that his workmanship would stand up to that longer-lasting warranty. One thing to keep in mind is that because they're good, they book up quickly, especially as the rainy months start to draw near. If your work can hold off and fit into their schedule, you will be glad you waited. Remember, there may be a lull in between the time you "pull the trigger" (signing the contract), and the start of your project. Be patient through this lull because there's really no need to gab. Of course, if you *do* have something to discuss, or have questions, they'll happily answer. Otherwise, you can expect a rapid increase in the communications as things gear up. You'll choose your shingles, any gutters and colors, and such. The week before work started, the Collins team ensured that a port-a-potty was delivered for use by their crew for the duration of the project. The team started to arrive before the noted start time, but were considerate and respectfully quiet for our neighbors. Work began punctually when we expected it to. Sometimes you don't know how good something is until you experience the difference. We were seriously spoiled by the Collins Roofing team, and now appreciate not just their punctuality and work ethic, but how much they enjoy their work. They enjoy being around each other, and when people are respected, appreciated, and enjoy their work, it shows in the results. One of the photos I'm attaching to this review shows the detached shed which was also re-roofed. It was here that I witnessed a prime example of their commitment to quality. After the flashing was in place, I saw one crewmember run his finger over the corner several times. Barely perceptible from where I was standing (and the angle where I shot the subsequent photo), there was a slight imperfection in the way the edges met. I could hardly see it, and only knew that something was there by the attention he was giving to it. After running his fingers over the corner a number of times, he choose to remove it and re-do it. How does the saying go? "Character is how you behave when you think no one is watching." During the course of the work, the Collins crew found a fair amount of previous damage, and rather than just work over it, they described options to repair the damage on a time and materials basis. This is where a shady contractor can gouge you; but despite the nearly two extra days of work added to remove and recover from the previous shoddy work, the add-on cost was shockingly reasonable. I cannot say enough good things about this business, and am only sorry that I have but one roof to replace.

They arrived on time, did the work carefully at the price agreed upon and were very pleasant. I would use them for future work.

He clearly explained what was necessary versus what was optional, and I never felt upsold. When additional issues came up, including the need to replace roof decking before the shingles could go on, Israel reached out immediately. Even with that added scope, the total cost still ended up roughly in line with the next lowest bid, which had not included decking. He also went above and beyond on a skylight repair by having his crew prime the interior area to make things easier for the next crew. To top it off, when the job was done, Israel walked the roof with me and explained everything that had been completed. All around, this was an ideal contractor experience. I would absolutely recommend IB Roofing.

When I was climbing around on the roof installing Christmas lights I saw its condition and realized it needed replacing. I contacted IBR and German came out quickly to take a look and shared some initial observations, along with some preliminary options. A few days later he sent estimates on each option, clear and straightforward. I opted for the larger job of taking off the existing shingles--even though it was the first layer--and replacing any plywood as needed. I could have just had them put shingles on top of the existing roof but decided to go for the completely new roof, for peace of mind. I also added a skylight to the job, and German answered all my questions about the product details and costs. German and Israel responded quickly to questions, and communication throughout the job was great. The crew started on a Monday morning at 8am and finished by late afternoon on Tuesday. They even worked around my Christmas lights that were still in place! Overall I was super pleased with their work and the finished results. Fyi, payment is a $1000 deposit, half of the the amount upon starting and the rest on completion. City permit fees are extra.

Scammers! These guys told me there were 2 options for fixing…read morea small roof leak - an expensive permanent fix or a temporary fix for a bit cheaper. I was told that the temporary fix would definitely get me through this season but not the next and the permanent fix would last until I get a new roof. I was considering getting a new roof, which they knew about, and provided a quote for, so I paid for the temporary fix only. The very next day it rains and it's clear the "fix" didn't work. I ask them to return and actually fix the leak this time so they come back and haphazardly throw some more tar on the roof. It doesn't rain for another 2 weeks but the moment it starts raining, the leak shows up again. This time when I ask them to come back, I'm told I need to sign a contract with them to replace the entire roof and that there are no refunds for the faux leak repair. CROOKS! Don't waste your money. Pay someone who knows what they're doing. Not this inexperienced father and son duo who will cheat you out of your money. Edit to address business response: I am thoroughly disappointed that you claim to state facts in your response. I was told specifically that the temporary fix would "100% resolve the leak". I was told the cause of leak was evident and the temporary fix would prevent leakage for the rest of this rainy season. I was given two options for repair - neither of which involved a full roof replacement. I was told the more expensive "repair" would last until I decided to replace my roof. I chose the less expensive option since I did intend on replacing the roof at some point. When your claims about the repair turned out to be false, you came a second time and explained why the temporary fix was inadequate. You then explained how the remediation performed that day would "absolutely fix the problem". This has nothing to do with the structural integrity of my roof or its age. There was no indication that the roof needed to be replaced immediately. The home water heater was recently updated and replaced. The area around its exhaust vent was likely damaged during replacement causing the leak immediately above the water heater. If you provided facts at the time of repair I would not be upset about your work and tactics. I was told the leak would be stopped with your repair. Period. It was not. I guess you get what you pay for. What made this worse was that you then tried to make me sign a contract for a FULL roof replacement locking me into your low quality services. Why on earth would I allow you to do anymore work on my roof when you lied to my face about the leak and your workman quality is clearly subpar? You also offer no kind of guarantee on your work so the risk is too high.
