This was my first time dining here, and the experience was really pleasant. This is mostly to do with the service received by Jeff. We had a lively table, and he was able to make recommendations to us about what food to share, enjoy and his own favorites. Jeff was prompt in refilling our beverages, and remembered the small details like a lime slice with the Diet Coke. The food was fantastic, the three of us shared everything. The only thing missing is a photo of the dessert, highly recommend the spumoni dessert - it features a table side marshmallow toast. So fun! Definitely make a reservation ahead of time to ensure seating, either way will be happy to dine here again. Thank you Jeff for your amazing service!
An amazing date night spot. We'll be back for sure. Went here on an anniversary dinner and booked at 9pm, got there 5min late and they were still setting up tables no big deal. Sat in 5-10min on a Friday night. Dillon did great with our service. Ordered the Regina Colletta pizza, and the brown butter ravioli also got the polpette and foccacia. Overall we were very impressed with this place, we ordered dishes that are harder to make, since we love to cook ourselves and they did an amazing. We'll be back for other staples for sure. Main critique I would say is the Pizza, we wouldn't order that flavor again but it was still very good. The balsamic isn't too strong. We just prefer simpler pizza and more well done. But the pizza we feel has the best value. Mushroom ravioli has amazing flavor, deep, rich, all working very well. However, We'll just order more classic dishes next time like the clam spaghetti, chicken parm, you can't go wrong here really.... All in all 9/10 experience, 4.5 starts if I could give that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is cute and casual but chic because of the low lighting and the cleanliness.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are three levels of seating, tables, raised booths, and the bar tops. It's great bc it diffuses the noise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The business was packed that night but the noise level was still good enough to hold conversations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Servers and waitresses all look sharps And the place has an open kitchen. Since we love cooking we'll try to sit so we can see it next time. There's also A bar to the right side with a view of the skating rink. I cannot stress enough that the team is doing an amazing job. Obviously the cooks are amazing, the hostesses were so sweet and down to earth, and the servers knocked it out the park. Very memorable anniversary. Thanks Colletta Team!
My mom and I came here on a Monday night to celebrate her birthday. Though online it said they didn't have reservations, I called to confirm they were taking walkins and upon arrival, we were immediately seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was beautiful outside so we chose to sit outside and it was perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was kind and attentive. We ordered some appetizers and the portions were huge. Their alternative to calamari was delicious! It had fried clams and oysters instead of calamari and a sauce. We had plenty for two with leftovers. The focaccia bread was delicious. The cheese on top is a great touch. For our meals my mom got the chicken parm and I got their signature pasta dish the tagliatelle. The issue came with the amount of time between our appetizers and our main dishes. It was long. And as we anticipated, our dishes were cold. Considering it was late and had taken so long, we ate them anyway. The flavor was good, but would have been better hot. I had a bourbon based cocktail like an old fashioned with a toasted marshmallow. It was so good! I had two! They also graciously provided a free birthday dessert for my mom. I would definitely return when in the mood for pasta.
I had no idea this place was here but what a find. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole shopping center is beautiful and this restaurant is an elegant stop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My daughter's friend surprised her with some desserts late at night for her birthday. I didn't get a lot of photos, but the four desserts we shared were excellent. Everyone said they would look forward to coming back for more desserts or a meal. The service and the food quality were good. We were delighted that almost everything was gluten-free and very tasty.
Had an early dinner here. That is notable since some menu items are only available after 5pm. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, the food was delicious, and we got in and out in a reasonable timeframe. Had A Fresh Start mocktail which was good (once stirred). They do not bring bread to the table so we started with an order of Focaccia. The top of the bread was crunchy while the inside was soft and the cheese on top added to the taste. I ate the Rigatoni which was yummy and had so much flavor. I will be returning here in the future.
We visited today for our anniversary meal. We used open table and scheduled an early seating of 4pm based on their availability. Upon arrival we got seated quickly and for as early as it was the restaurant wasn't empty like most other places I've been. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We enjoyed our meal, enjoyed the nice restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything went off without a hitch. This is becoming one of our favorite Italian restaurants now. So we plan on returning in the future.
I went to Colletta in Fenton on a Tuesday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't too busy, but there were a lot of intimate diners which set the tone nicely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers were fantastic and so attentive, which seems to be very consistent in reviews. I had the tagliatelle, which was so delightful, creamy, and rich. I also had a bite of my friend's rigatoni, which was also cooked perfectly. I had a glass of Chianti to go with it, which was also fabulous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a nice and simple place to have a great Italian dinner[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
We came here for brunch after a concert. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place looked pretty fancy so we felt underdressed (although absolutely no one cared).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server we had was so nice and made everything on the menu sound so good it was hard to choose one thing. I ended up getting the Breakfast Pizza with sunny side up eggs, per her recommendation. They make the pizza dough in house from scratch and you can definitely taste it. I usually don't like crusts but I couldn't get enough of this one. It tasted like a slightly charred fluffy breadstick and tasted even better being dipped into my egg yoke. I also love how they add fresh Parmesan at the table. Probably one of the best pizzas I've had in a while.
Stopped by on Friday afternoon for lunch. The lunch menu featured pizzas and a few pasta options. I didn't get to try the lasagna this time, but we ordered the mushroom ravioli and a pizza--both were very good! We also shared the freshly baked bread to start, which was a nice touch. The only reason for the one-star deduction was the speed of service. The restaurant wasn't very busy, yet our food took close to an hour to come out. Still, we overall enjoyed our experience and the ambiance. I'd definitely give it another try!
I LOVED it here! We went here for a work dinner and were seated in a private room for a group of 10 of us. Our server was excellent, along with the entire staff who would come in to clear plates and provide new silverware after the apps. I tried a fig pasta dish (I believe it was a special because I cannot find on the menu). It was a mix of sweet and savory. It also has pieces of prosciutto in it. The sauce was divine.
Had reservations for 5:30, we got There a few minutes early and were able to be seated. Our first time party of 6, 5 adults one child 10. The Cesar salad was fresh and fed 5 adults. Since it was our first time we got a few appetizers and 3 entrees and 2 pizzas to share. The meatballs on point! The lasagna one of the best I have ever tasted. We did get the focaccia bread. It was ok, I would rather have crusty Italian bread, just my preference. The spicy pizza was pretty spicy, the cheese pizza was good. Chicken parm, was good but not great. Overall we were happy with our meals and would go again.
Went back after 2 years and the food and service were still exquisite. My friends and I dined for the Galentine's expressed and enjoyed cocktails and mocktails, small bites and entrees. I had the Caesar salad with chicken, and my friends had the chicken parm. The truffle fries were so delicious. The staff is always so friendly. I recommend making reservations for weekend visits.
Love the chicken Parmesan because it has vodka pasta instead of marinara. The Regina pizza is really good with the balsamic glaze. We went during a galentines special and got the cutest goodie bags!!!

My husband and I went to Colletta for a birthday dinner before a show at Lenovo Arena on a Friday night. When my husband made the reservation he checked the celebrating a birthday option. The restaurant messaged him asking for my interests, and they had a small gift waiting on the table for me. Such a kind & thoughtful gesture. To top it off, the summer cocktail menu was amazing. I got the Strawberry Blonde spritz and my husband had the Peach Spritz, both were so yummy and paired wonderfully with the Peach pizza and Chicken Parm dishes. All the food is freshly prepared from scratch. I love to watch the kitchen. Such a cool ambiance. There's also outdoor seating which is great for summer nights. Thank you! Coletta did it yet again! Always 10/10. Consistent food, drinks and service as always. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of having service from our favorite staff member Chris. He says he isn't a mixologist but definitely should be! We had a seasonal cocktail and a gin cocktail that were both spectacular. We shared the calamari app and the prosciutto and fig pizza which we wish would stay on the menu. Experience was fantastic as always! read more

Went with my friends to celebrate my birthday. I was so surprised when the host handed me a gift from Colletta. THEY BOUGHT ME A GIFT!!!! Asked my friend that made the reservation, what I liked, they put in the thought, time and effort to make me feel so special. I think this is the nicest, unexpected and generous gesture ever! Colletta is always my go to when I'm craving Chicken Parmesan. The chicken parm at Colletta is cooked perfectly and has a good portion size. You can even get it drizzled with fresh Parmesan cheese. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or even a special occasion. The cocktail list is also pretty good. My favorite is the Bitter Italian. read more

Came here with my best friend. We came on a busy weekend and they manage to seat us quickly. Theres alot of people seated but it was quiet inside. The food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the meatballs, calamari and brocolini for appetizers. We shared the Cassarecce pasta cause the portion is enoughfor two(ground pork sausage, zucchini, fox farm mushroom topped with freshly grated paramesan) which was delicious except the mushroom was a little overpowering for me. The meatball could of been seasoned more well and brocolini cooked better(chewy texture). The calamari came out fresh and made crispy how I like it. My favorite appetizer out of 3 would be the calamari and the tangy dipping sauce that came with it. They have a stunning interior with great service, I will try there other menu items in the future. read more

Easily some of the best food and service I've had in the triangle. The pasta was perfectly al dente (probably the closest to Italy I've had in a long time), the portions were actually large enough to warrant the prices (enough for tons of leftovers). The service was incredible, they made me feel incredibly welcome on my birthday. I will return again and again! read more

We came here for restaurant week as a party of 8 and they were very accommodating. However, the restaurant week menu wasn't very clearly printed and they verbally told us what was included and what wasn't. In the end they tried to charge us for 2 extra pizzas that we were told were part of the restaurant week menu. Thankfully my sister checked the receipt and the server was able to change the receipt after some conversation. The salads were perfectly dressed and pizzas were hot and fresh! read more

We stopped by Colletta on MLK day for a late lunch. Service was quite nice and the food was good. It was a bit pricey, but we did have enough for another meal. The tagliatelle was very rich with a delicious salty flavor of the pork. The salad with the burrata was perfection. The pizza was yummy and I enjoyed the hint of a sweet flavor. From first views of the restaurant from the streets of Fenton, to the incredible ambiance of the interior, Colletta knocked it out of the park. My wife and I had reservations for her birthday, and the first... not the last example of them going above and beyond was the thoughtfulness of their acknowledging her special day with a gift left on the table specifically for her. Service was spot on, recommendations and plate presentations (and of course flavors) were on target, and we could not have asked for a better dining experience. Dining at Colletta is a unique experience. Making a reservation is imperative on busy days. I made a booking for two on a Thursday four days out and the peak times were already full. I first heard of Colletta through a local Instagram food vlog and wanted to try them out. The place seems to be the spot to go for special occasions. Dining in one of the corner or barside booths can carry an intimate vibe. My neighbor and I were greeted by the hostess and shown to our table. The restaurant answered my phone call promptly when I told them we might be late. I appreciate their quick response! Our server was Ashley. She and Nicole went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful. Ashley showed us how to order from Colletta's menu. We enjoyed a three-course meal with drinks. We got their wild boar casarecce and lasagna bolognese. My neighbor's Italian, and it takes a lot to satisfy him. I can say that Colletta satisfied his high bar on how good Italian should taste. I chose their vanilla gelato dessert and was pleased with the presentation. This is certainly the place to celebrate. Hats off to the staff! read more

Colletta did me so good! I had never been to Fenton so we decided to do a cousin's night out and try out this restaurant that was a TikTok rave at the time. Initially we had a hiccup with our reservations but the manager was awesome and made sure to correct it and get us seated as quickly as possible. The atmosphere was to die for. Not a lot of lighting but just enough to set the mood. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to answer any and all questions that we had. The manager even came an offered us a few appetizers due to the reservation being messed up which was really nice. You could tell all the food, the sauces, everything was made to order because it just breathed freshness. It was fulfilling and seasoned perfectly. The meatballs lived up to the hype. They could be a meal by themselves. They meat was so tender with the sauce drizzled over it...yum. The ice cream at the end was an unexpected delight initially we got it to share but ended up ordering another. I can't wait to go back...maybe this time for some date night action! read more

I wish I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars! We had the BEST experience here tonight. Being a Friday night there was going to be a wait in order to sit at a table, so we opted for the bar and it was such a good choice. Chris and Maria helped us throughout the night and they were AMAZING!!! Super fun, personable, and made our whole night. Not only were the people great, but the espresso martini... phenomenal!! I think someone said they got ranked #5 in North Carolina, but we ranked them #1. The Moscow mule and margarita were also delicious. For our meal we split the chicken parm and spicy soppressata pizza, both of which were great! The vibes were great and the bar area was super cute! Came to dine at Colletta on a Sunday night at 5pm. Had a reservation prior and was seated promptly. The waiter was quick to come and greet us, take our order, and the food also quickly arrived. The ambiance of the place was very nice and had a slightly fancier tone. Definitely not a place for shorts and a t-shirt. I think the food here is pretty average. I guess you're paying for the location and ambiance here cause I thought the food was pretty plain given how much it cost. The ravioli was pretty good, but smaller portion size. The burrata was very delicate and I think they did a good job with this. The bucatini was an oily mess and was very heavily overpowering in taste. But considering that I've only had a very small portion of the menu, I'm sure there are other menu items that are great that I have yet to try. Overall solid place for a fancier meal. read more

I went here for a private event, and I must say the space is absolutely beautiful. The room where we were seated was very intimate and our waitress. Michelle was incredible! We came on a Sunday afternoon and I figured there would be quite a few options because of brunch. There weren't many pasta dishes on the menu, but that was OK. I thought the food was good, but it's not your traditional Italian restaurant. Please be prepared for that and also open for a bit of a fusion styled experience. I appreciated the service more than anything else. Also, there're focaccia bread is pretty good and there is a yogurt, honey sauce that comes with it. I will give that a three out of five. The calamari I would probably give a three out of five as well. The tiramisu seems to have a bit of white chocolate in it, which is a little different and it's on a graham cracker. Not a graham cracker crust, but like pure graham cracker, which is also different. I would give the actual tiramisu as in the Ladyfinger part a four out of five. Give it a try. read more

My girlfriends and I have been wanting to try Colletta for some time now and we finally had the opportunity to do so! We came for lunch on a Saturday a few days ago around 2pm. My girlfriend had made a reservation two days prior for the four of us. We wanted to do dinner but there were no options within two hours of our request of 5pm (when they reopen for dinner), so lunch it was! Nestled in Fenton in Cary (first time at Fenton - love it), the ambiance is pretty nice, spacious and cozy. I wouldn't say this is a "fancy" spot but also not your average mediocre Italian spot. It's definitely above average. The service was also good. Rosie was our server; she was friendly and attentive. On to the menu, which is reasonably extensive but not overwhelming. I started with a glass of Paso Robles Cabernet; it was good. I like that they have quite a few wine by the glass options. My girlfriend ordered a Prosecco cocktail. We shared a few appetizers and a pizza to start: Calamari, Caesar salad, Marinated Olives, and Margherita pizza. The Calamari was not my favorite; pretty rubbery and didn't taste fresh. I love a good Calamari and this was not it. The olives were pretty good, as I love to get these at every restaurant I try. The Caesar salad was delicious, so fresh, huge portion to share, and the perfect amount of dressing! Now that PIZZA! So I follow pizza like a pro-golfer follows the PGA. Is this NY style pizza? No. Is it comparible to NY style pizza, not quite, but the quality and deliciousness is. I'm from NY and the best pizza obviously lives there. That being said, this is the best "wood fired" style pizza I've had in the area. Tazza Kitchen was my favorite, until I tried this. They are both amazing, but Colletta's Margherita pizza gives you fresh, flavorful, Italy style pizza vibes. The best pizza I've ever had was in Florence, Italy, and this almost compares. I would hands down visit this spot again just for that pizza, or two. We ended up also getting 3 entrées: Cacio De Pepe (one with breaded chicken and one with shrimp) and the Chicken Parmesan with vodka pasta. I'll start with the fact that they only offer "fried chicken or shrimp" to add as a protein to the Cacio De Pepe, which I found slightly odd if everything is made fresh here. I ordered the "fried chicken" and my friend the shrimp, both looked good. The fried chicken was actually more of a breaded chicken (same they use for Chicken Parmesan) and it was DELICIOUS. Perfectly tender and flavorful. Unfortunately, the actual spaghetti noodles with the Cacio De Pepe dish were very bland, soggy, and overcooked and so was my friend's who got the same dish. I was honestly surprised by this as that is an easy dish to make. Also, it was $25. For a simple pasta dish at that price point, it should be perfect. My friend's vodka pasta was pretty good, as I tried a bite. In conclusion, I would give this spot 3.5-4 stars for the experience we had but giving 4 because I'd definitely come back for the pizza, salad, wine, service, and atmosphere/location. I'd even try a pasta again, in hopes of it being better! read more

Returned to Colletta after about 6 months. I didn't plan to ever return since my first experience was sub par, but Joe (manager) reached out and invited me back. The experience was 180. The vibes and feel of the restaurant were immaculate and it actually felt like the prices were warranted and this was further proven with the incredible food. Everything was a 5/5. We ordered the crispy potatoes to share and they were seasoned perfectly and covered in and bathed in a shallow pool of white sauce (a spruced up ranch, I believe?) Not a huge ranch guy at all, but worked really well. We ordered the margherita pizza and lasagna for entrees and they were both excellent. The pizza was just as good as the first time around and the lasagna was extremely flavorful with too many layers to count and dense. It lasted me 2+ meals. We debated dessert and were recommended the Spumoni with marshmallow. It sounded unique and it was. Ice cream engulfed in a large marshmallow which was torched table side. Incredible flavor and presentation. Thank you to Joe and the wonderful server, Zachary, that made our visit one to remember. I will be returning. read more

Absolutely amazing! So happy I stumbled across this place. Started with the strawberry peppercorn limonata which was great! Not too sweet, refreshing. The scallops were meaty, the smoke mozzarella pizza super flavorful, the steak was tender and juicy, the Bucatini was great with big shrimp, and our waiter and service was top notch! We sat outside and the weather was perfect, nice ambiance with fans outside too. I am so impressed and will absolutely be back! read more

The doppio pasta dish was to die for! Half beet half lemon ricotta hand filled pasta I could've had two orders they were so delicious!! Overall the ambience was low light and nice. Our waitress helped us all with what to order everything looked great. We also had a margarita pizza which of course was very good too. read more

Colletta is my personal favorite when it comes to authentic Italian flavors which never is compromised by quality over quantity. All of their pasta is homemade. They offer a variety of food selections as well as cocktails and desserts. Their service is excellent and never disappoints as all servers are well versed in understanding the brilliance of their chef! Bottom line: Good food and excellent service on my first visit to Colletta in Fenton Cary. The pasta choice of their Tagliatelle hit with a good but admittedly surprising taste and I enjoyed the slightly different take on Caesar salad. The Deets: I had a chance to swing by Collette over in Fenton of Cary to try them out and glad I did. The process of getting a reservation is easy on OpenTable app or website. Once I arrived, I was promptly brought to a nice table (I even offered to sit at the bar since I was solo and they stated I was fine at the booth table so I went with it). The atmosphere is nice there, can be casual place or a bit dressier but I'd go with a compromise of nice casual to describe it. Water was served quickly and I had a chance to look over their menu which has a nice balance of starters, pizza, pasta, and main dishes. I went with the Caesar salad to start with...I enjoyed their take on it, with plenty of cheese and using focaccia crumbs that are toasted. The crumbs were a nice change from hard large croutons while give a bit of bread crunch to the salad, I liked the texture difference. For my pasta choice, I went their their Tagliatelle that has pork tesa, black pepper, Braswell Farms egg, chive, and Parmesan (I asked them to go light on the pepper). The taste was not what I was expecting...there was more of a sharpness/boldness or maybe a punch to the flavor which was surprising but nice. Definitely was expecting more of a carbonara type finish from the menu description but this one stood out from the expected. What definitely made the move up to a 5 star visit was the service, in that everyone including my server was extremely positive, helpful, and made sure I was taken care of every bit of the way for my first visit to Colletta. I liked my meal and I am hoping to try more out on the menu in future visits. read more

So might not be a popular opinion but Colletta was ehhh nothing to write home about ...maybe it was the dishes that were had ? But to me it was lack luster.. The charcuterie board was boring ... the crumbled cheeses were not the best and was messy .. the meats were basic and nothing to wow you with.. The chicken parm was basic and just ok.. chicken was on the dry side .. sauce was just basic. The Shrimp Bucatini was lack luster... the shrimp was a bit over cooked and the sauce and flavor that was supposed to be on the dish was very mild and mute and didn't add much flavor to the dish. Overall I felt the place is overhyped and a bit on the pricier side for some basic Italian food... Staff was fine.. vibes were ok... love the open kitchen but wish it produced better food. read more

Let me preface by saying this review is strictly for the lunch service at Colletta which was introduced three days ago. Upon arrival, we waited a considerable amount of time for service, I did have to ask for someone to wait on us and was promptly attended to. They explained that they were working through some issues in the adjustment to lunch service. Service was good as far as their attention and ensuring we were happy, the wait times were just much longer than with dinner. I had the Aperol spritz which was refreshing and classic, my friend ordered a drink but they were out of the ingredients so she was not able to enjoy that beverage. I will add that there were issues with the menu such as misspellings and an error in the pasta and sandwiche section which was surprising to me. For a high quality restaurant, I would have expected those mistakes to have been caught before printing and sharing with customers. Food: the clam strips were a nice treat and a different take on an appetizer and I enjoyed them. My friend had the bucatini and she loved it, she ate every bit. I had the Caesar salad with shrimp and it was not the best, I definitely felt like it was a run of the mill restaurant salad and just expected something a bit more from colletta. Lastly, the dessert menu was condensed and not the same as the dinner menu but they still served me a lemon ricotta cake which I thoroughly appreciated. Overall, the lunch experience did not compare to my dinner experience and therefore I'm giving a lower star but the service was good and they really did try to ensure we were content and happy with our meal and that counts for a lot. read more

Colletta seems to be drawing quite the variety of mixed reviews. I was honestly expecting a so/so experience when I dined here, but I was actually blown away. It really was a wonderful dinner thay my friends and I keep talking about. The food was all delicious and the wine was the perfect compliment. We shared a bunch of stuff between the four of us -- the pear burrata, pumpkin ravioli, short rib agnolotti, ribeye florentine, the whole branzino, and tiramisu. The least favorite of the table was probable the burrata, it was tasty, the pears were just not ripe. The favorite of the table was hands down that ribeye florentine. I generally don't get steak out since I feel like it's always under seasoned. Not here! That plate was so delicious. They slice the steak up for you, so it's very easy to share among the group. Like I'm literally dreaming of that steak right now and going back again tonight since I can't get it out of my head. The pasta was tasty as was the fish. But, the ribeye really reigned supreme. We also shared the tiramisu which was delicious, super light and fluffy. Overall we had a wonderful dining experience and I'm certainly headed back in again. read more

How's the pasta typically prepared....aldente?
My pasta was just past aldente but not soft.
People go there early and they're out of lasagna? That's only reason I would go there. Do you have to order it ahead?
Hi Rachelle, I've been there early in the week at 5:30 and there's definitely lasagna. You don't have to order ahead. Plus, literally everything is delicious, not just the lasagna.
