I love love love the flavor of their chicken Parmesan. I think they make it with vodka sauce? I absolutely love it! It's a little bit spicy, but not too much. Their Caesar salad is also phenomenal. I could eat either of these items daily. The portion size is also great! My service is always good when I come here. The ambience is also lovely.
An amazing date night spot. We'll be back for sure. Went here on an anniversary dinner and booked at 9pm, got there 5min late and they were still setting up tables no big deal. Sat in 5-10min on a Friday night. Dillon did great with our service. Ordered the Regina Colletta pizza, and the brown butter ravioli also got the polpette and foccacia. Overall we were very impressed with this place, we ordered dishes that are harder to make, since we love to cook ourselves and they did an amazing. We'll be back for other staples for sure. Main critique I would say is the Pizza, we wouldn't order that flavor again but it was still very good. The balsamic isn't too strong. We just prefer simpler pizza and more well done. But the pizza we feel has the best value. Mushroom ravioli has amazing flavor, deep, rich, all working very well. However, We'll just order more classic dishes next time like the clam spaghetti, chicken parm, you can't go wrong here really.... All in all 9/10 experience, 4.5 starts if I could give that. Ambiance is cute and casual but chic because of the low lighting and the cleanliness. There are three levels of seating, tables, raised booths, and the bar tops. It's great bc it diffuses the noise. The business was packed that night but the noise level was still good enough to hold conversations. Servers and waitresses all look sharps And the place has an open kitchen. Since we love cooking we'll try to sit so we can see it next time. There's also A bar to the right side with a view of the skating rink. I cannot stress enough that the team is doing an amazing job. Obviously the cooks are amazing, the hostesses were so sweet and down to earth, and the servers knocked it out the park. Very memorable anniversary. Thanks Colletta Team!
My mom and I came here on a Monday night to celebrate her birthday. Though online it said they didn't have reservations, I called to confirm they were taking walkins and upon arrival, we were immediately seated. It was beautiful outside so we chose to sit outside and it was perfect. Our waiter was kind and attentive. We ordered some appetizers and the portions were huge. Their alternative to calamari was delicious! It had fried clams and oysters instead of calamari and a sauce. We had plenty for two with leftovers. The focaccia bread was delicious. The cheese on top is a great touch. For our meals my mom got the chicken parm and I got their signature pasta dish the tagliatelle. The issue came with the amount of time between our appetizers and our main dishes. It was long. And as we anticipated, our dishes were cold. Considering it was late and had taken so long, we ate them anyway. The flavor was good, but would have been better hot. I had a bourbon based cocktail like an old fashioned with a toasted marshmallow. It was so good! I had two! They also graciously provided a free birthday dessert for my mom. I would definitely return when in the mood for pasta.
Had an early dinner here. That is notable since some menu items are only available after 5pm. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, the food was delicious, and we got in and out in a reasonable timeframe. Had A Fresh Start mocktail which was good (once stirred). They do not bring bread to the table so we started with an order of Focaccia. The top of the bread was crunchy while the inside was soft and the cheese on top added to the taste. I ate the Rigatoni which was yummy and had so much flavor. I will be returning here in the future.
We visited today for our anniversary meal. We used open table and scheduled an early seating of 4pm based on their availability. Upon arrival we got seated quickly and for as early as it was the restaurant wasn't empty like most other places I've been. We enjoyed our meal, enjoyed the nice restaurant. Everything went off without a hitch. This is becoming one of our favorite Italian restaurants now. So we plan on returning in the future.
Stopped by on Friday afternoon for lunch. The lunch menu featured pizzas and a few pasta options. I didn't get to try the lasagna this time, but we ordered the mushroom ravioli and a pizza--both were very good! We also shared the freshly baked bread to start, which was a nice touch. The only reason for the one-star deduction was the speed of service. The restaurant wasn't very busy, yet our food took close to an hour to come out. Still, we overall enjoyed our experience and the ambiance. I'd definitely give it another try!
I LOVED it here! We went here for a work dinner and were seated in a private room for a group of 10 of us. Our server was excellent, along with the entire staff who would come in to clear plates and provide new silverware after the apps. I tried a fig pasta dish (I believe it was a special because I cannot find on the menu). It was a mix of sweet and savory. It also has pieces of prosciutto in it. The sauce was divine.
I had no idea this place was here but what a find. The whole shopping center is beautiful and this restaurant is an elegant stop. My daughter's friend surprised her with some desserts late at night for her birthday. I didn't get a lot of photos, but the four desserts we shared were excellent. Everyone said they would look forward to coming back for more desserts or a meal. The service and the food quality were good. We were delighted that almost everything was gluten-free and very tasty.
We recently had lunch at Colletta in Fenton Town Center. My husband ordered the rigatoni, and it was absolutely delicious. I chose the lunch special with the Cotoletta di Pollo and house salad. Unfortunately, the bread on my sandwich was burnt when it arrived, but the staff quickly replaced it without any issue. The second sandwich was better, though just average overall. The real standout was the Berry Blossom cocktail, which was absolutely AWESOME! It was refreshing, flavorful, and easily my favorite part of the meal. The fries were also excellent, and the pasta dishes were definitely the stars of our lunch. Our bartender was serving us and did a fine job taking care of everything we needed, but the service felt a little less warm and personable than we typically enjoy. That said, the issue with my sandwich was handled promptly and professionally. Overall, the rigatoni, delicious pasta, amazing Berry Blossom cocktail, and great fries made for an enjoyable lunch. We'd definitely return and look forward to trying more items on the menu.
We came here for brunch after a concert. The place looked pretty fancy so we felt underdressed (although absolutely no one cared). The server we had was so nice and made everything on the menu sound so good it was hard to choose one thing. I ended up getting the Breakfast Pizza with sunny side up eggs, per her recommendation. They make the pizza dough in house from scratch and you can definitely taste it. I usually don't like crusts but I couldn't get enough of this one. It tasted like a slightly charred fluffy breadstick and tasted even better being dipped into my egg yoke. I also love how they add fresh Parmesan at the table. Probably one of the best pizzas I've had in a while.
I went to Colletta in Fenton on a Tuesday. It wasn't too busy, but there were a lot of intimate diners which set the tone nicely. The servers were fantastic and so attentive, which seems to be very consistent in reviews. I had the tagliatelle, which was so delightful, creamy, and rich. I also had a bite of my friend's rigatoni, which was also cooked perfectly. I had a glass of Chianti to go with it, which was also fabulous. Such a nice and simple place to have a great Italian dinner
Had reservations for 5:30, we got There a few minutes early and were able to be seated. Our first time party of 6, 5 adults one child 10. The Cesar salad was fresh and fed 5 adults. Since it was our first time we got a few appetizers and 3 entrees and 2 pizzas to share. The meatballs on point! The lasagna one of the best I have ever tasted. We did get the focaccia bread. It was ok, I would rather have crusty Italian bread, just my preference. The spicy pizza was pretty spicy, the cheese pizza was good. Chicken parm, was good but not great. Overall we were happy with our meals and would go again.
This was my first time dining here, and the experience was really pleasant. This is mostly to do with the service received by Jeff. We had a lively table, and he was able to make recommendations to us about what food to share, enjoy and his own favorites. Jeff was prompt in refilling our beverages, and remembered the small details like a lime slice with the Diet Coke. The food was fantastic, the three of us shared everything. The only thing missing is a photo of the dessert, highly recommend the spumoni dessert - it features a table side marshmallow toast. So fun! Definitely make a reservation ahead of time to ensure seating, either way will be happy to dine here again. Thank you Jeff for your amazing service!
This place was so cute! We sat outside after finally getting a table at 8:30 due to an hour and a half wait- however, it was a Friday, so we didn't mind waiting- and our server Elizabeth was one of the best servers I've ever had. She was so friendly and made great small talk with us while making us feel cared for and welcome. The food was also delicious. The table ordered Antipasta (appetizers)- Foccacia & Crispy Clam Strips. I was told both were absolutely delicious. We all ordered pizzas- 3 of us got Margherita, 1 Pesto & 1 with Prosciutto, Balsamic Drizzle & Arugula. We all loved them but decided that the Margherita was the best. I have a gluten allergy & they were very accommodating. They had gluten free pasta options & a gluten free crust. I got Margherita pizza on a gluten free crust and it was so fluffy and doughy. I loved it! One of the best gluten free crusts I've had. Overall great experience & would recommend. We went to Colletta for my mom's birthday, and it was AMAZING from start to finish. They messaged me beforehand to ask me things like her favorite color, drink, etc, and when we got there they had a gift bag on the table for her with a happy birthday note and a present that reflected her favorite cocktail. The food was absolutely wonderful - some of the highlights are their meatball appetizer, the homemade focaccia, the shrimp ravioli and their caramel gelato. And the service was incredible - special shout-out to Zarah, who took such good care of us, and made sure that our mom felt special and celebrated every minute we were there. I can't say enough great things about this place - we will be back again and again! read more

Booked at Colletta for my husbands birthday dinner. The staff was super accommodating with my toddler son. We ordered an aperol spritz and a beer for drinks. We ordered a foccacia for the table to start, and a Chicken Parmesan and short rib ravioli for mains. The pasta is fresh-made in house and Everything was absolutely delicious. The chicken parm was a huge serving, so we ended up taking home leftovers. We saved room for dessert - Tiramisu which was a hit with my son, and perfection once again. 10/10 read more

This is a very nice upscale Italian restaurant. The ambiance feels authentic, with plush red seating. I had one of the best pastas ever, the tagliolini with a sauce made of pork stock and butter. I would have licked my plate! The lasagna was good but for $34 they need to add way more cheese and meat, it was basically 16 thin layers of pasta. Pizza good too, dough is fresh. The service gets an A plus, out waitress Ashley bent over backward to make us happy, from getting us three different tastes of red wine before settling on a glass to asking the chef what was in that pasta sauce for me! They filled my water and coke super quick and often too. The chocolate torte was good but not my favorite. The panna cotta was light and fluffy. read more

We had Colletta on our list since it opened. All of the reviews, videos and pictures really pointed to what we thought would be an elevated dining experience and superb food. The aesthetic of the location was beautiful and well done. The decor was minimal and a modern spin on traditional. Our server was pleasant if not a bit anxious for us to order quickly. On a side note, we had 11AM reservations, I arrived at 10:55 on a cold, wet and windy day and the doors were opened precisely at 11AM. Moving forward if I decide to go back it will be after opening because you'll be waiting outside in the cold. We ordered a cocktail called the Love Bird which was okay and not overly sweet despite it including pineapple juice. We started with some focaccia which was a little crunchy considering that I expected for it to be a little more tender and pillowy as focaccia tends to be. Our main entrees were the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the Shrimp and Grits. They were aesthetically pleasing but my pancakes had very little lemon flavor, the large dollop of ricotta was unflavored and unnecessary as were the "herbs" which I believe were basil and the actual pancakes were actually a little dry. The fruit on top was supposed to be macerated but was served more like a garnish. The pancakes would have been better with a dollop of butter and maybe lemon curd or at least the macerated berries it was supposed to have. The shrimp and grits were okay but the grits could have used a little flavor. I'll give this place one more try for dinner and hopefully it will be better than my brunch experience. read more

We had a great Mother's Day experience here- party of 5. The mixed reviews worried me a little, but we were pleasantly surprised. I made a reservation a couple of months ago and was seated right away at 5:00 when they opened. I did notice a line forming outside of the restaurant right as they opened, and the hosts were letting people know they were fully booked for the night, which I appreciated. It showed me that they were focusing on their service/quality over quantity of parties for the holiday. Pros: All the food we ordered was good to great. Apps: Focaccia 3.5/5, Meatballs 5/5, Caesar 4/5 (we did ask for more dressing which helped greatly). Mains: Lobster Ravioli 4/5, Market Fish 5/5, Smoked Mozzarella Pizza (add soppressata) 4.5/5 the crust was a tad burnt but that's to be expected some with real woodfire pizza ovens, Chicken Parm 4/5, Pappardelle 4/5 Drinks: Limoncello Collins 3/5 (too sweet for my taste), The Pompelmo 5/5 this drink was strong and refreshing. Ambiance: We all loved the vibe and music that was playing. It was loud enough to enjoy, but still quiet enough to enjoy our conversation as well. Service: I forgot his name, but he was very helpful and accommodating. He also checked on us often. Cons: The wait from the apps to getting our main course was a little long. Our server let us know that everyone who was seated at 5:00 when they opened put their orders in at the same time. That was understandable. Overall, I'm not sure if the meh reviewees came on an off day, but this was a very pleasant experience and we will all surely be back to try more things. A great addition to Cary and I recommend going and giving it a try for yourself. read more

We had reservations and got seated about 20 minutes after our reservation time. I'm not holding it against them as they had recently opened and are still working through the kinks. If you're an adventurous eater, get the family style chefs choice meal!!! It was absolutely amazing!! You just get whatever the chef wants to give you. We loved it!! We ended up with an appetizer for each person, pizza, pasta, chicken parm, and dessert samplers. We couldn't come close to finishing everything and had a ton of leftovers for home. Yes, Chef! For our birthdays this year we decided to celebrate with Colletta. When I made the reservation they wrote back and asked if we were celebrating anything, if we had any food allergies, and a few more, but I won't spoil the surprise for others. The restaurant smelled absolutely amazing and everything on the menu sounded divine. After talking to our server Raphael, who was phenomenal the entire evening, we decided to let the Chef choose our courses for us. Important to note, I have a nut allergy and I'm pescatarian so if you're thinking where is the beef and pork, it wasn't there for us by choice. We had the Burrata, Smoked Mozzarella Pizza, Wood Fired Scampi, Ravioli, Wood Fired Whole Fish, and Tiramisu! The meal, service, and surprises along the way were absolutely superb! We simply cannot wait to go back and go on another adventure with them. read more

I went here for date night on a Monday. Positives: the Hugo cocktail was so good and light. If you like Prosecco, I would highly recommend this beverage. I ordered the ravioli that was filled with shrimp and covered in a light buttery sauce. 8/10! Great portion size and very flavorful. Colletta is a beautiful restaurant space in the lovely live-work-play Fenton. The service was stellar. Food was tasty. We had the Spicy Soppressata pizza which had a crispy thin crust and was drizzled with honey. We also shared the Burrata, which was an odd starter as the grilled bread got soggy under the gooey cheese and the accompaniments were strange. The squash ravioli with brown butter sauce was flavorful and well prepared. We would return but did note the price was very high for a night out. Note: pizza comes out as it is ready so be prepared for it to arrive first. read more

Colletta is the first restaurant that I have tried in Fenton and you need to get a reservation if you want to visit. We started off with an order of the focaccia and a caesar salad. I also ordered a glass of Prosecco. Next it was the tagliatelle for my husband and the radiatori with a glass of chianti for me and for dessert we split the tiramisu. It was all good but for the price there are other Italian options that are better. read more

What a cute place and shopping plaza! Colletta is located in the new Fenton Cary center. My friend and I had a 5:45 reservation and were promptly seated. Our server, Jake D, came over quickly and introduced himself. He was energetic, friendly, and knowledgeable about the dinner and drink menu. We ordered the focaccia and calamari for apps. These came out promptly along with the drinks. Our water glasses were also filled and continually refilled once empty. Service was prompt, and the staff was hustling to serve everyone. The calamari was crispy & tender and came with marinara, lemon, and salsa verde aioli. The focaccia was delicious and came with an olive oil/balsamic vinegar dipping bowl. For our meals we ordered the Bucatini and my friend had a meal with pasta & seafood: mussels, clams, shrimp. I cannot recall the name. It's not on the online menu as of this writing. Everything was delicious, and our server, Jake D was a delight. All smiles, energetic & personable. We each orderd tiramisu to go as the meals were filling. Definitely check out Colletta. It would be great for a date night too. The shopping plaza is very pretty with great shops like William Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Athleta & Sephora. There is free parking behind the restaurant. read more

I really wanted to like it. But it was just an awkward, underwhelming experience. The service was uncomfortable to say the least. The server came multiple times (borderline badgering) to ask us our appetizer then dinner order. Our first appetizer, burrata, came out quickly. It was good but nothing special. Odd to place crispy, hot bread under a pile of dressed greens and a runny cheese. Our 2nd appetizer, focaccia, did not look recognizable as focaccia, it was overcooked and with little oil for dipping, it tasted dry. Tasted fine, just disappointed. It took roughly 45+ mins for entrees to come which we figured would happen. We ordered the tagliatelle and ravioli. The tagliatelle pasta was clearly not cooked in salted water, otherwise tasted okay. The ravioli's presentation was miserable (shown below). Many fell apart at the seam. The quantity received was small, as was the ravioli itself. As a slow eater, I was still finished before my partner due to the major difference in our dish sizes. Everything tasted just... fine. After dinner, I was looking forward to one redeeming item I had seen on their website's dessert menu - the Baked Alaska. We received the dessert menu and all that's on there is molten cake and gelato. Since it wasn't on the menu, we asked and we were told they were out of it. I understand running out of things. But why have it on your website menu , if it's not an available item? A simple solution of either updating your menu or noting on your website that items are based on availability. I'm aware Baked Alaska is not an easy or common dessert, but I often go to a restaurant in hopes to experience something new/different - this item was a draw for me. It was a letdown for them not to have it. Overall, it was just disappointing. I don't get why reservations are hard to get. The experience is not anything worth coming back again for. For the prices you pay, it'd be better to make it at home. read more

I'm sorry, but I just don't get the hype. We had reservations. We got there a little early and it wasn't too busy. This was around 6pm on a weekend and got seated right away. Our server was good. Nice and prompt. The focaccia was good. Crispy outside with a light, airy interior. I had the lasagna because I'd seen some good reviews. It came out looking pretty, but that's as good as it got. This $34 brick has absolutely zero flavor. None. The flavor of the marinara didn't go well with it either. It was like a flavorless heap of noodles with a skimpy bit of even more flavorless meat inside paired with a really acidic tomato sauce. My husbands pappardelle was the exact same story. Zero flavor in their bolognese sauce. Kids spaghetti . . . Also very subpar, no justification for the $14 price tag. I don't fault the server, it happens, but I ordered without meatballs, but it came with anyway, so technically we paid $18. I will say the meatballs were decent. The server was nice in wishing my MIL a happy birthday. We were too disappointed in the dinner to try any desserts. read more

Everything was absolute perfection! Got seated right away outside with a view of the green. Wait staff was super accommodating and knowledgeable of the menu. Drinks were perfectly put together. We got the beet salad and scallops for appetizers and lasagna and lobster ravioli for our meal. *Chefs kiss* yum yum yum I think the ONLY thing I would have a complaint about is the beet salad...there were only maybe 5 pieces of beet. I'd been hawking Colletta for a month or two as I love Italian food. It definitely did not disappoint! For starters, the restaurant is gorgeous inside and out and dimly lit in just the right ways to make it a more intimate dining experience. I love the views directly into the kitchen with the huge pizza oven. The drinks were fantastic. I had a bit of a wait waiting for the rest of my party and started with the Concrete Shoes off my first recommendation. It was a hit! Once we all arrived, we ordered the Polpette and got some extra bread because it sopped up the sauce perfectly. While we waited for the food, I ordered the As Far Back and it had great smoky notes. I know it might be basic but I feel like you have to try the lasagna at every Italian restaurant at least once and theirs is great. Lots of layers and the ricotta on top had just a hint of lemon. The grilled squash was quite tasty as well. It's a busy restaurant so temper your expectations that everything is going to come out in 20 seconds. Go for the full experience and you won't be disappointed. read more

I had my birthday dinner last night at Colletta. Our server was Carly and she was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond to make my birthday extra special. For appetizers, we ordered the burratta and the polpette, both were phenomenal. The burratta had strawberries and a delicious balsamic vinegar served over focaccia, perfect for summer. For entrees, I ordered the lasagna (15 layers!!) and my fiancé ordered the scallop risotto. Both were very large portions but delicious. We will have multiple meals of leftovers! For dessert, we got the baked Alaska and peach shortcake. While the peach shortcake was yummy and light, our go-to is always the baked Alaska. Came for Happy Hour and the food looked really good so we all decided to come back for dinner after a networking event. The manager was amazing and accommodated our party even though we didn't have a reservation. For apps, we started with the meatballs, cheese plate, & calamari. All of which were delicious. For dinner we had the Chicken Parm, Mapaldine, & Radiatori. The only feedback was regarding the Radiatori and that it had a little more protein than what was offered. Dessert was fire, especially the Alaska. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. read more

Beautiful interior, perfect for date or dinner with friends. The lunch menu is very limited but even still they still seem to be having some issues with service. We waited over 45 minutes for a salad and pizza in a half full restaurant because the pizza oven was backed up. Salad and pizza were ok, nothing outstanding. Salad toppings were sparse and additional or better dressing was needed. Cocktails and wine list very nice, can recommend the cocktail with lemoncello and gin- fantastic!!! Definitely potential if they can sort out the service issues and make small menu improvements. read more

We attended Colletta's grand pre-opening party and were so impressed! The venue was very crowded at first but the staff was efficient, professional and unflustered as they kept the appetizers and drinks flowing. There is a great outdoor space in front and on the side and the indoor space is sleek and open. A lovely jazz band was playing while were were there. The craft cocktails were phenomenal -- really enjoyed both the As Far Back and the Spritz. Didn't get a chance to nibble the appetizers but husband said the meatballs and pizza were phenomenal. When I heard that Colletta was scheduled to open on September 2, I rushed to make a reservation. The space inside isn't huge. The tables are very nicely spaced apart and it was refreshing to not be on top of another table. We ordered the calamari appetizer to start. I wasn't a huge fan of the calamari, it tasted a bit overfried but I did enjoy the banana peppers that added some nice complementing flavor. The complementary bread was delicious. It comes out pre sliced with a side of olive oil + balsamic vinaigrette. For entrees, my husband and I both ordered pasta. The restaurant makes fresh pasta every morning so we had to try them. We both loved our pastas! I ordered the agnolotti which was a smaller version of a ravioli and it was stuffed with a creamy filling of short rib and ricotta. The sauce was a little light but I really enjoyed the mushrooms in the sauce. My husband ordered the mafaldine which which was a loosely curled thick pasta in a spicy red sauce with lots of seafood. He absolutely loved this dish. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert and our amazing waiter ended up giving us an extra dessert because it took so long for the dessert to come out. I liked the tiramisu, it had some crunchy chocolate bits on top which was a nice added touch. They sprinkle the espresso dust at the table which was a nice touch. I wasn't a huge fan of the chocolate molten dessert. It had a strong orange taste (which was in the description) and I'm just not a huge fan of fruit flavored chocolate. Overall, we are so excited to have some nice restaurants open in Cary and can't wait to come back (hoping with some friends so we can try the pizza and entrees). The kitchen still has a few kinks to work out (there was a lengthy wait for our appetizer and then again for dessert) but that's not surprising given the restaurant opened a week ago. read more

Hmm unfortunately we had high expectations for this place. The drinks omg small like 2oz with a big rock. Glass half full. For 15$. The pizza was really good we had the margarita for apptz. It was not expensive for 15$.Nice thin crust . The pasta was good but came out on a cold plate and very very small portions. No table cloths. But at least cloth napkins. The bar is small and the restaurant seating is small which is probably why the reservations are hard to get and not because this place is amazing. Reality. Maggiano is actually better atmosphere. At least they have white table cloths. A real bar and reasonable prices with large portions read more

A 10 out of 10 as always went for Mother's Day brunch, the staff super nice as always they had us seated in the private dining room for our group of eight! I did not take any pictures of our drinks, but most of us got Hugos , coffee, Margarita, espresso martini and, mimosa! Each picture has our rating! read more

How's the pasta typically prepared....aldente?
My pasta was just past aldente but not soft.
People go there early and they're out of lasagna? That's only reason I would go there. Do you have to order it ahead?
Hi Rachelle, I've been there early in the week at 5:30 and there's definitely lasagna. You don't have to order ahead. Plus, literally everything is delicious, not just the lasagna.
