From the very first greeting by Vinny offering to help carry things in from the SUV, to Rashard always checking in and helping move things around to make it a beautiful setting! We went during the brunch time. The brunch menu has more breakfast options than lunch options. We requested for the tagliatelle that was very delicious and antipasto salad that was also very good. I had a reservation at 2:30pm but the restaurant was plenty of available tables. The service was polite and good, but nothing special to highlight. Came here for an office holiday dinner. They gave us the option to do a menu where we got one of everything and shared family style. We start with apps followed by salad and pizza then pasta and dessert. The ambiance in the place was nice and very festive. The apps and salad were the best thing we had. The pizza sauce was extremely sweet and the pasta was not it. At one point after having apps and salad, I asked the server if I could get another plate because mine had remnants of the first THREE courses we had just had and we were about to get pasta and to be honest, I wanted a fresh plate. The server looked at me and said "really you need more than one plate for all of your food? You don't look like you need another plate anyway". I'm looking at my coworker like did this man just fat shame me? or try to? It was so cringe and embarrassing for me but really he should have been embarrassed. Bad food, bad service. I hosted my mother-in-law's 60th birthday dinner here and it was absolutely AMAZING! We had a large party so we were able to do the family style dinner and we all could not stop raving about how delicious everything was. We got to try so many different dishes it was again truly an amazing experience! Now what made this extra special was the service! From the start Macy was an absolute delight to work with, she made sure I had everything I needed from her and allowed me to come early and set up the table! Our waiter Eric was so kind and walked through every dish as it came out. Lastly, Austin the manager was the icing on the cake! I really wanted to love this place but the experience was just ok. Our server started strong and seemed very knowledgeable about the menu but we felt forgotten about multiple times through the night. The food was overall good but everything took 15+ minutes to get-drinks, bread, apps, etc. The bread was nice and we loved the carpaccio appetizer, it was amazing. The calabrese pizza was good but very spicy. The black pepper tagliatelle was recommended by our server and we were super excited to try it but it was so incredibly bland, it was disappointing. He was very friendly, attentive, accommodating to issues, and gave us a free multi-faceted dessert for our birthday! The reason I take off two stars off is for the quality of food. We ordered the shrimp scampi as an appetizer. It was unfortunately bland and shrimp was overcooked and chewy. My friend ordered the ribeye medium rare. It came out medium well. When we brought it to Nathan's attention, he was quick to replace it and took it off our bill. My friend enjoyed the replacement. I got the farfelle. It was just ok. It advertised different levels of flavor but didn't deliver. My husband and friend got the pork chop and Bolognese. Both said their meals were good - not great. Probably won't return. read more

The atmosphere is nice and friendly hostess and service. But, the ravioli I ordered was lukewarm and decent, not exceptional or on par with the price. Most odd, our server brought us out a salad we did not order stating, "I thought this was something you both could share and enjoy" so it seemed like it was given to us. But then it showed up on the bill for $12 ($6 each charge). We didn't ask for it or order it and would have returned it if it hadn't been presented to us like an "extra favor". Colletta rates somewhere between 3 and 4 stars for me. While I thought the food, service, and ambiance were above average, I'm not sure the value was there. This is a nice contemporary Italian restaurant from the Charleston-based Indigo Road restaurant group which also includes Oak Steakhouse (next door) and O-Ku Sushi and Donetto in Westside Atlanta. I thought Oak and O-Ku were excellent, so I had somewhat high expectations of Colletta. The restaurant opened on February 5, 2015 in the Avalon mixed-use development in Alpharetta. Plenty of free parking is available in Avalon's various surface lots and decks. The North and South Decks are closest and about equidistant to Colletta. You can enter the South Deck via Northwinds Parkway or Parkdale Lane and you can enter the North Deck via Westside Parkway. Valet parking, shared with Oak Steakhouse, is an option too. Reservations are recommended. Since Colletta is on OpenTable, you might as well book them so you can rack up free dining points that you can use towards future discounts at select OpenTable restaurants or an Amazon gift card. We didn't have a reservation on our first attempt to dine at Colletta. The restaurant was packed with a wait for walk-ins, so we ate at Oak Steakhouse instead. Oak was also quite busy, but they were able to squeeze us in and seat us immediately. Our group had reservations on our return trip to Colletta. Like the other Indigo Road restaurants, Colletta has a beautiful-looking space. It's in its own freestanding, white brick building with an interior that has a classy modern rustic design. There's an open kitchen with a wood-burning brick oven, a chef's counter with about 10 seats that face the kitchen and pasta-making station, a meat-cutting station with cured meats on display inside a dry-ager fridge, and a marble wait station in the center of the dining room. The bar area, dining room, and covered patio (with heat lamps) are spacious. This place is great for dates and groups, large or small. "Colletta" is Italian for collection. The food is influenced by cuisine from Northern Italy. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, 7 days a week except for Sunday which is dinner only. We visited for dinner where the menu featured 9 antipasti ($12-24 each), 6 brick-oven pizzas ($15-17), 6 made-same-day pasta dishes ($22-28), and 6 entrees ($24-50). There was also a three-course, family-style, chef's tasting menu for $50 per person. Here's what I tried: Antipasti: * Scallop ($17) - parsnip puree, pickled fennel * Burrata ($16) - marinated olives, flatbread * Meat + cheese board ($24) - house-cured meats, local and Italian cheeses, homemade accompaniments Pizza: * Sausage pizza ($16) - mozzarella, tomato, basil, Parmesan Pasta: * Black pepper tagliatelle ($22) - carbonara, pork tesa, egg yolk, chives, and Pecorino Romano * Pappardelle ($26) - duck ragu, toasted pistachio, black truffle * Triangoli ($24) - winter greens, Calabrian sausage, parsley Complimentary plates of warm, fresh-baked, soft, and fluffy focaccia were served along with customary olive oil and vinegar. It was good. As for the dishes listed above, in general, I thought everything was tasty. Some dishes were better than others. Some items I'd order again; others, I wouldn't. Two diver scallops were served in the scallop dish. The scallops were nicely cooked and succulent and the parsnip puree was rich and flavorful. I liked the contrastingly crisp and tart fennel. Overall though, I thought the scallops were overpriced along with the burrata and, to a lesser extent, the rest of the dishes I tried. That's really my only knock on Colletta. The burrata was delicious and it came with plenty of green olives and crispy, charred flatbread. I just wished there was more burrata. Also, this dish would have looked better if the burrata was more prominently presented as opposed to being covered and hidden by the flatbread. The meat and cheese board was OK. It came with 2 meats and 2 cheeses. One of the meats (pork) was particularly fatty. There were 2 spreads - 1 looked like a cherry compote and the other was a whole grain mustard. There were thinly sliced and pickled onions and peppers (I believe) along with fried pizza dough to eat with everything. Like the meat and cheese board, I thought the sausage pizza was OK. It wasn't bad with its yummy clumps of mozzarella and savory chunks of sausage. However, it wasn't very memorable. I think what really shines at Colletta is the pasta. Of the pastas I tried, I'd rank the pappardelle 1st, the tagliatelle 2nd, and the triangoli 3rd. That said, I thought all 3 were quite enjoyable and would recommend them all. The pappardelle had wonderful texture and flavors, particularly umami from the truffle. It permeated the ragu. The tagliatelle was a close 2nd. Like the pappardelle, the pasta had fantastic texture and rich, savory flavors. While the sausage in the triangoli (triangular ravioli) was salty, it was a fine dish otherwise. read more

Hi. We are here visiting from California for my fiancé's business trip. He got off late tonight and we were in a desperate search for good food. I found Colletta and called ahead to see if they were open for dine in service. It was 9:55. The hostess that answered the phone almost seemed to deter me from coming in as the kitchen was closing at 10:30 and it almost sounded like they had no servers? I was highly skeptical but decided to race over anyway. We met the hostess who answered the phone and she seated us at a table by request from my fiancé whose back was aching from his shift. At this point I'm still highly unsure of my decision. Until we met Arvin. What a treat to have him as our server. I am big on kindness to strangers and let me tell you... this server impressed me from the jump. He was polite and courteous. He did not rush us to order though we knew the kitchen was closing five minutes after our arrival. He served our food promptly and checked on us a few times. He even did something special for my fiancé knowing that he had a rough day. I worked in the industry for quite a few years and i dine out frequently. But let me just say that i have never in my life been met with such genuine kindness and respect by a server. Additionally the servers that were closing really worked as a team which was so nice to see. Even if the food was terrible WHICH IT ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT, I would still rate this restaurant five stars just on the service alone. Friendly tip: we had the black pepper tagliatelle, the lumache, and the braised short rib. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY TO DIE FOR. The ambiance was wonderful. Our party had a reservation towards the end of the evening on a Friday. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and allowed to choose in which section we wanted to be seated. From the outset it was clear that the service staff was aware that we were there to celebrate a special occasion and wanted to ensure our good time. When our cocktails still had not arrived halfway through our appetizers, and we alerted our server, complimentary meatballs and flutes of Prosecco (assisted by friendly banter) quickly arrived along with them. Everything we ordered; burrata, crispy potatoes, rigatoni, and mafaldine, as well as the meatballs, was properly seasoned and beautifully presented without being fussy. We had initially wanted to order the halibut, but were informed that it was sold out after our server went to put our order in. His guidance towards the mafaldine was spot on. There is nothing unexpected or rare on the menu, but offering a dish of marinated anchovies, or braised tripe, is not the point. With perfectly al dente pasta in both preparations we tried, tender crisp pears in the burrata dish, silky polenta beneath the meatballs, and perfectly balanced cacio e pepe aioli for dipping the potatoes, the point is clearly getting the details right in order to please as many palates as possible. It gets a 3 for service we sat at the bar it took over 15minutes for a bottle of wine and appetizer to be ordered the bar was busy but the bartenders do not engage at all with the customer or make any eye contact, there is zero customer service. WOW just wow! Service, ambiance, food , EVERYTHING about this place is fabulous. I came to celebrate with one of my customers for closing her account after three years of persistence and my birthday! I started with The Phoenix cocktail which is the perfect blend of sweet with a little spice kicker. For appetizers we had the pan roasted scallops and artichokes which were perfectly cooked and flavored. She got the Truffle Mushroom Agnolotti with shredded chicken and it was so flavorful and had the perfect amount of sauce. I had the Roasted butternut squash ripiena and I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor! It tasted like fall exploded in my mouth Finally we finished with the cinnamon and sugar bombolini 's and the deconstructed tiramisu!! Sorry but aside from the meatballs, the food was not good at all. Ordered chicken parm...it has a weird breading very granular and not very flavorful. We used Open Table and we're lucky enough to get a reservation late on Saturday. We had to keep checking. The patio was a bit humid and quieter. The restaurant itself is way too loud. You cannot hear the person it front of you without shouting. The food and service were excellent. We shared the meatballs. I had never thought about putting polenta with meatballs, but they were delicious. We also shared the Panna Cotta. The Panna Cotta was a bit more liquid, but the flavors were on point. Have an SO that you love but don't want to have a conversation with tonight? This is the place. You won't be able to hear them, even if they try. But the food is so good, they might not care. My husband and I were staying nearby last weekend, trying to get dinner delivered to our hotel. There was a big mess-up with Storefront by Doordash, and the order never got to Colletta. We called and the kind lady searched to find it, with no luck. After a second attempt with Doordash the order finally got placed, and we received a phone call from the restaurant to apologize for the difficulty and offer us a free dessert! My husband and I met some friends for dinner. None of us of us had ever been before, so I I won't blame the venue for the nearly complete lack of parking for non-residents, as this was apparently by design. We started out with appetizers. Calamari and meatballs. I didn't try the meatballs, but the calamari was decent, if uninspiring and relatively unseasoned. The small ramekin of sauce was clearly insufficient for a party of six to share. My husband ordered the Black Pepper tagliatelle, which arrived as a small portion in a stone bowl. It was well-presented, and tasty, though at 25 dollars, was also severely overpriced. I ordered a Bianca pizza, a white pizza with garlic confit and ricotta cheese. It was served on what can best be described as a large square scrap from a building, complete with molding for what would appear to have been a door. It was ridiculous. Three of us ordered pizza, and the result was a table too crammed with unnecessary scraps of tile to maneuver our glasses and utensils. To top it off, the servers tried to give us each a stand for our pizza, which would lift it to chin height. These were not large pizzas, but the notion of having to eat them in three dimensions at our small table was laughable. I declined the offer for the stand, preferring to spill food on my own. The others followed suit. The black pepper tagliatelle seemed very good. The pasta seemed fresh, and the egg yolk created a creamy sauce. Our table mates' pizzas seemed generous, with gooey melted cheese. My Bianca pizza was thin and flat and barely warm. If there was garlic confit on it, I missed it, along with the ricotta. It was bland and unseasoned to the point where I was looking at the table for salt. This is apparently a restaurant that does not have salt on the table, which I respect. However, the onus is on the chef to not put out plates that require seasoning. We decided to drink our desserts, and ordered an espresso martini and a chocolate martini. They were served in what appeared to be whisky glasses, which wasn't a great idea for a drink without ice. The drinks themselves were okay, but nothing special. Maybe if they been a little colder it would've helped. Now, NONE of these things would justify writing a review about. If we were at Applebees. Nothing against Applebees, but its not fine dining and you get the quality of food and service that you pay for. When entrees start at $23 dollars for pasta you sort of expect things to be done a little better. PROS: Pasta was tasty if severely overpriced CONS: Bianca Pizza was terrible. Ridiculous choices for plates and martini glasses which showed a real disconnect from the general vibe of the place, the size of the tables, and the cocktails that were served. There are so many really good Italian restaurants in the area. It would have been nice to eat at one of those. read more

The food is good and it's a nice place. However, you don't get what you pay for. The pasta dishes are appetizer sizes. For $25 or more there isn't much there. It's good if it was an entree sized. Happy Hour: It's not a hugely extensive menu of options, but what's there is good. The happy hour wine options are worth trying, nothing you'll be dreaming about for years and a little on the sweet side, but the waiters can help see if they match your taste. The burrata is a huge serving and good quality. The pizzas are also a great deal and definitely taste warm and fresh. Menu: The pasta melts in your mouth!! Our waitress helped us decide on an option with seafood in which every ingredient blends together perfectly. The portions aren't huge for the price, but the pasta is fresh and has a delicate taste. * Vegetarians: you might feel a little limited when you see how creative the dishes with meat get, but you can definitely find one or two pizzas/pastas. Dessert: There's a pretty diverse dessert menu for a place I wouldn't consider to have an overwhelming variety of food options all around. You can get anything from alcoholic dessert drinks to a twist on the classic cannoli. Dessert here is pretty much what you expect: a lot of flavor in a few bites, but be careful with overstuffing yourself when you're looking at a fancy-ish night. Service: Special shout-out to Annie for helping make good food decisions. And to Kevin for describing a dessert as if it were bigger than me and for making me drool in the middle of a classy restaurant. Loved the atmosphere and decor in here. It has a laid back California Industrial Farmhouse Chic-look. It was cozy and inviting perfect for an Italian family night out. Our table ordered Two Margherita pizzas from the brick oven. They were a table favorite (except for the Keto member). Our Keto member order meatballs and an olive centric dish and was very pleased. The portions were generous and he, as well as most of the table enjoyed almost every bite. Our vegetarian member enjoyed the ravioli and several slices of the wood fired pizza. The Chicken Parm which me and my husband split was DELICIOUS!! My husband makes an incredible chicken Parm at home and it has always been my favorite dish.
