(complimentary but we love to tip for great efficient service right guys?) Immediately upon entry i was warmly greeted by Vicky and Destiny. I'd already decided on bar seating and they were more than happy to show me the way to get settled. The bar was a fantastic choice, Avery, Cam and Alex crushed it! From maintaining the flow of the restaurants beverages to their lone bar guest with lots of questions (me lol), they handled everything to perfection while giving stellar recommendations. Their menu knowledge both beverage and bar is impressive. Kudos in that regard for sure. My goodness, i should've gotten the chefs name because every single bite was impeccable. The buratta bruschetta and tagliatelle are unlike any I've had before anywhere else! By the time i was stuffed full i still had leftovers which they graciously boxed for me, i wasn't leaving it at all lol. Kudos to the beverage director as well, the spring cocktails are on the money! I tried the Collette Spritz, Tramanto Sour and Old Corpse reviver. Of the 3, the spritz is surprisingly my favorite. I'm not a beer gal and sometimes don't enjoy Aperol but every ingredient blended well. Try it, trust me, Avery and Cam, those were some of their suggestions! What a delicious experience. Colletta has a beautiful ambiance with nice lighting and those entry doors will blow you away. They reminded me of castle doors. Lol. So big and massive. Close your eyes as you taste their food and you'll swear you're dining in Italy. They start you off with some complimentary warm, fresh-baked, focaccia and a nice olive oil. A nice touch as it seems like less and less places are doing this. The Colletta salad was amazing. A healthy bowl of all the perfect fixings. Some fresh mixed greens, green olives, pepperoncini, nice soppressata, tomatos, cucumber and radish's in a creamy Italian dressing. A very delicious start indeed. The main entrée was even more impressive, Mafaldine Allo Scoglio (pasta of the reef) some saffron seasoning with mussels, shrimp, tessa, nduja all in a white wine butter sauce. Chicken was dry, chewy, and hard to cut. Not sure if it was just an off day in kitchen. My husband had the pork and while the flavor combo was good, the pork was dry and overcooked. Decided to try this well decorated restaurant at The Avalon because the food looked so good on pictures. Valet was available right in front of the restaurant and they were efficient. The hostess and waiter were both pleasant. We really enjoyed our drinks and the focaccia as a starter. We were disappointed with our main course though because they both lacked flavor. The presentation was great, but it needed a lot of support. We rarely ask for salt/pepper but we did for this meal. The skin on the trout had an unpleasant burnt taste as well. read more

Very delightful evening experience celebrating a birthday. Kelsey provided good service and was backed up by the wonderful Destiny who really went above and beyond with special surprises and sincere interaction. We enjoyed the caesar salad (split) with burrata app. Mains were ravioli and rigatoni bolognese - both were delicious and hearty. We were back in town to visit family and actually ended up coming here twice. We came on a Friday night. There were four adults and one child, the restaurant is really beautifully decorated and has a really upbeat fun atmosphere. Our server was very patient and accommodating as were the people that greet you at the door. They have a really nice cocktail and wine by the glass menu as well as the food menu. Everybody at our table felt the same thing, the food was well executed, but was very bland. I had to ask for extra cheese and we all asked for salt. The second time we went back two days later, I thought everything was a lot better. My only critique is, I don't think the prices are outrageous, but it is on the higher end, for that I would expect perfection . I love the food at Colletta, and their espresso martinis are probably the best in Alpharetta! I am *very* picky about my espresso martinis. Colletta makes them with real fresh espresso and the perfect foam on top. So if you just stop by the bar for a drink - this is the one to get! We started with the prosciutto di parma, which comes with honeycomb. It's the best appetizer on the menu! When it comes to pasta, I try to stay gluten free. Colletta's gluten free pasta is lovely. I ordered the gluten free CAB bolognese and it was amazing. The sauce is flavorful and thick. My friend ordered the black pepper tagliatelle and said it was also amazing. I couldn't try it because of the gluten, but she said the egg yolk on top made it extra delicious. The restaurant is clean, open, and nicely decorated. They have a cute side-patio for when the weather is nice. We sat inside tonight with a very large group. We had 10 ladies celebrating a birthday. We were seated in the back room, which is a bit more private. Our server and the manager (I think his name was Austin?) were both friendly. They knew we were celebrating a couple birthdays, had had roses on the table for the birthday girls! My one complaint about Colletta is the speed. The kitchen seems to get a bit overwhelmed with larger groups and although our reservation was at 6:30, the food didn't arrive until 8:30. Now, keep in mind we were a big group of 10 women. We had various food allergies and preferences (a gluten allergy, a shellfish allergy, and a vegetarian) at our table. So I know we weren't the easiest group. Even so, two hours to get entrees seemed a bit long. After the meal, they brought us bday cakes for the women celebrating and a special candle. I will be back to Colletta for a date night soon. So we decided to opt for the black pepper tagliatelle because the table next to us ordered it and it looked good and we also got the basket of bread assortment. The assortment came with lemon brioche, Nutella donut, Italian donut holes and a biscuit. The pasta was pretty good but a little too salty and the noodles were not al dente, I thought it was a little too hard. The basket was pretty good and my favorite was the donut holes. Everyone tried a different appetizer so we could try them all. Each one was better than the next. Burrata, grilled octopus, meatballs, and the focaccia bread. The bread was amazing. My friend ordered an Amaretto sour which was probably the best one I have ever had. When the meals came out it was so quiet. We had pizzas, chicken Parmesan, lasagna, and ravioli. Let's start with the positive, the front end and wait staff are very friendly and inviting. That's all that was good with our experience. We took our family here to celebrate a birthday. We brought a cake where they held in the back but didn't communicate with our waitress but that's not what went wrong. They tried to charge a $30 cake cutting fee. Nowhere do they mention that, no one said anything about it and never in my life have I seen something so absurd at a restaurant. The food was just meh. The mushroom pizza was tasty, the bread was good and the meatballs were okay. The pasta had no flavor and for these prices, we expect better. We also ordered cappuccinos and gelato. Those were good but then the cake fee set it off for us. Also, they don't have a changing table for families. What Italian restaurant doesn't have family friendly bathrooms? I have eaten at Colletta many times but this was my first time for brunch and wow did they deliver. First and foremost the food was spectacular as always, eggs were a perfect over medium, their breakfast potato's were to die for and the steak was perfectly cooked. Flavors and ingredients are always fresh. Secondly, service always above par, our server said that he was new and this was his first brunch service. He was polite, knowledgeable and courteous. We felt like the only table there as 3 other people checked and made sure we had everything we needed. I would expect nothing less from Colletta. Finally the atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect. This was our first visit back after a few years. It was a week night, we asked to be seated at the counter bar (our favorite from the past). The interior, seating was all as we remembered it, a high class place. Lots of servers, menu might have changed a bit since our last visit. Glad to see non-alcoholic drinks on the drink menu, I had a "Ginger Smash", very tasty! I ordered a Ceasar Salad with Black Pepper Tagliatelle. My companion ordered the charcuterie plate with a side of the polenta. The food arrived in a resonable length of time. The portion of the salad was enough for two. Plenty of cheese but not enough of the dressing, kind of dry. The pasta arrived, from the name of it, I expected a "peppery" taste. The pasta seemed to be cooked properly but I couldn't tell what the black pepper part of the dish was. (I have never tasted this pasta in any restaurant before.) Meanwhile, the charcuterie arrived along with the polenta. Well, the selection of meats, cheeses, jam was truly a delight! My companion hit the jackpot! The Polenta, Wow! Here was what we got: Burrata - I thought this was pretty good just because the amount of food that you got for the app. The amount of bread and cheese was awesome just because by the time we finished the cheese there was still leftover bread, which I'm never going to complain about. This might be the first time where there was more bread than cheese(/dip). The bread is similar (probably the same dough) to the pizza crust. Meatballs - comes with 4 pieces in a nice red sauce. Happy to say that the meatballs weren't dry. Calabrese pizza - the addition of honey was interesting but it definitely worked. The sweetness was not overwhelming.
