Really weird place and people, service sucked, I mean guys I understand the bar is been open for a while, but good god clean it up, and what's up with the smell, I'm sure there are 20 years old cheese under the tables. Very cute place with indoor and sheltered outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and never let our drinks run out which was awesome. I ordered the Eggs Benedict off the Sunday brunch menu and it was honestly the worst I have ever had; extremely salty, large fatty pieces in the deli sandwich style ham, overcooked eggs, and clumpy hollandaise. The service was horrible. We had a server named Rebecca. There were several waitresses and only a handful of other tables in the restaurant. We had to stand in front of our waitress to get her attention. Waving didn't work and neither did saying "excuse me." We ordered a cup of coffee and were told twice that it would take a while, but that we would get it. Never received it. How long does it take to make a cup of coffee? It took a long time to even get refills on water...WATER!!! We ordered a small pizza that gave my boyfriend a stomach ache from all of the grease and oil. It came with extra cheese that was not specified on the menu. Cheap bagged cheese. I could have made a better pizza myself at home. I ordered a stromboli with only artichokes and sausage. It came with 5 other toppings I did not order and was so soggy, it was not edible. It also came with extra cheese on top. Are you trying to give us a heart attack from all of the extra cheese? I was told BY MY WAITRESS that maybe I received the wrong order. Shouldn't you know? Or should another table have my order and I have theirs? She told me that she'd put the order I originally have in and give it to me to go. Still nothing 20 minutes later. I walked out. My boyfriend stayed to pay. He sat at the table and finally gave up. To get her attention he had to get in front of her, tell her he was leaving and that everything sucked. He walked out. I work at a restaurant as a server myself. I know how service should be. Why wasn't a manager notified about our service or food mess up? Why did it take so much time to get any service and why did it take so much effort to even get noticed? Especially at 10:00am and we were there for a whole hour. By 11:00am its time to throw in the towel. This place is not worth the time. Go somewhere else. It was our first time visiting tonight. We ordered a small cheese pizza and 2 cheese steak wraps along with 3 sweet teas. The food was good but the server we had was incredibly moody and she accidentally dumped a full sweet tea all over me to completely soak my new white tennis shoes and jeans. She did say sorry quickly and I told her "no worries." We moved tables because of the extreme puddle left under the table too. At the end of our visit she provided us with a full bill of 43.99. I am a bit shocked she did not offer a discount for my tea soaked white shoes. I did pay the full bill and left a tip but I will not return after the bitterness of this evening left upon us. Tonight I walked to College Delly and there was a tremendously long line. It's Homecoming at W&M, and I'm a college student, so I obviously wanted to go out with some friends and have a good time. However, since the line was long, a friend inside convinced me to climb over the fence and into the establishment. Probably a little illegal...I'm not really sure...but after some hard thinking, a friend and I did it. Now, I know it sounds a little bad...but who doesnt cut lines sometimes? I'm 21, and you didn't have to pay at the door...so I was doubting that it was THAT bad. Plenty of my friends have jumped over various fences to various places...so I figured it wasn't a big deal. I even had an alum come to me and tell me she would "vouch" for me if anyone said anything, because she used to walk over all the time (thanks, by the way!). However, someone that worked there saw me and obviously wasn't very happy. He talked to the big boss, who I'm guessing is Paul (I worked for Paul's Deli for a weekend (diff. story)...and Paul's and College is owned by the same old guy), and then "Paul" came to us and said we needed to leave. My friend and I already felt kinda bad, so we didn't object (We said nothing, actually), and we got up and started walking out. He followed us to the door, grabbed one of his security guys, and starting telling the guys that we needed to be let all the way out (there was an outdoor party going on). He touched/pushed me on the arm as he was angrily telling the security how much he wanted us to leave. However, I was being completely compliant and didn't feel...at ALL....that I needed this man touching me in order for me to go. So I turned around and told him not to touch me. To this, he said "you hopped over my fence you bitch". Yes...he called me a BITCH...for walking over the fence. To which I told him I was sober, wasn't cursing at him, and that he shouldn't be cursing at me. THEN, he proceeded to say I was a "FUCKING, NASTY BITCH" (I apparently graduated from being just a "bitch")multiple times, and asked me if I wanted him to call the cops....lol You want to call the cops on me for walking over a fence into a free event? And, I also agreed to walk out without fighting, or pleading, or saying ANYTHING at all. And THEN you feel that you know me well enough to call me a "nasty bitch" multiple times.... The security guards there apologized to me multiple times (how ironic), and two of them came to me after and told me they thought he was completely out of line. One even tried to ASSURE me that he doesnt WORK for the owner of College, he was just hired through the security company. I don't feel like if I were a guy he would've spoken to me like this. I understand what I did was wrong, but is this not why establishments hire security? He was incredibly unprofessional, rude, and sexist...and if I've been to College many times, but I will NEVER go again. read more

Never again! Food was just okay, service and the experience was horrible... They tested their new misting sprinkler system on the outside patio and didn't give any warning. My iPhone and friend's coach purse got soaked. My phone is now pretty much ruined and full of condensation. My skirt was soaked. I had the menu up blocking my face for probably 20 mins while the staff just kept walking by without offering to move us. When we said something to our server she just apologized and made the excuse that they were testing it out for the first time. They should have warned us. They didn't offer to give us a drink or discount our bill, nothing. I really hope they post signs to warn future customers that their stuff as well as them are about to get soaked. They were suppose to bring us napkins to dry ourselves off and never did. My salad came out with no dressing. I had to wait about 15 mins after it was served to get it. I am pretty sure that my martini had very little alcohol if any. So disappointed. Over priced and not worth it. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Paul's for the same menu! read more

I love this place! The outside patio is lovely and the service is wonderful. On Thursdays they have $1 corona's until 9pm. As someone who is new to the area, this is my favorite spot to meet people my age. The bartenders are very personable and the wait staff is attentive and friendly. College is more a destination than a restaurant, and by destination, I mean a place you can drink underage. Then you turn 21, and you can finally go to the Leafe. The sandwiches will buffer against the cheap beer, and the cheese fries are better than the Leafe's (although not as good as Paul's). Minus points for putting up bars around the patio. Jumping the wall at College was a tradition. I already felt imprisoned, I didn't need a visual reinforcer. read more

College was renovated over the winter, and came under new management. It's still a pretty fun bar (for Williamsburg), but the mixed drinks are now waaaay more expensive than they used to be and definitely more expensive than the same at Paul's or Green Leafe. Seriously, there's a $10 minimum to use a credit card, but I easily met that with one G&T + tip. In NYC/DC/Chicago that would be about average; but in Williamsburg, I expect to pay significantly less. read more

Came by for lunch after riding the coasters at BG. Since our plan was to ride them all, we didn't have much for breakfast and arrived HUNGRY. The portions are quite substantial here, so coming hungry is a good thing. I guess they are used to feeding starving college students. We shared a most excellent tomato & mozzarella salad and a delicious meatball sub. The service was quite good too. The first time I ate here my husband and I sat outside on the patio I had the falafel and they put so much white onions I mean big chunks I could hardly eat it... I had to take it apart and pick threw it... No biggy... The second time we took our son and the server was a young redhead girl who seemed alright at first then she got weird... Kept coming up to the table multiple times asking if we were ok or needed anything... I took s minute from my food because I was engaging in conversation with my family and she came up to the table and starts reaching over the table asking if I was finished then immediately asked if my son was finished... I haven't been here for lunch in over 15 years but nothing has changed. Had the Italian sub and just as delicious today as on last visit.

As a local I can tell you this is our go to place. While the beer selection isnt great the quality of the food, portion size and service is always great. We've been going for years and the owners are concerned with their customers. So much so we had our rehearsal dinner catered. Highly highly recommended. Pub environment, tends to get noisy when the kids are back for school- if you visit Williamsburg you need to visit the College- if you live here you need to eat here frequently. Bathrooms leave a bit to be desired. read more

All I can say is "meh". I went there at two in the afternoon with my husband and son, sat on the heated patio which was pleasant. There is a huge selection on the menu but definitely not worth the price. We ordered an appetizer but the waitress clearly forgot about it since it came out halfway through our meal.
