We went on Mother's day 2025. We originally planned to go somewhere else but when I called ahead to get on a list and they told me the table would be ready when we arrived (said they had no wait) so we came here. We arrived shortly after and we waited about 10-15 minutes just for the table (it was not busy by the time we got there). Our server was very overwhelmed and I gave grace bc it was probably a huge rush a few hours prior. He barely checked on us the entire time we were there. I had their "soup" of the day and it was more of a chowder. I had ordered a chicken Caesar wrap with grilled chicken... I could barely bite into the chicken. It was hard and tough but it was cooked all the way thru. The french fries were good and so was the bang bang shrimp. Good alcoholic beverage as well! I probably won't come back though. read more

Food was absolutely delicious, especially the lobster ravioli with shrimp from the special menu. Our server was very friendly and provided great service. The entire restaurant was decorated nicely and kept clean including the bathroom. The only problem was, it took us quite a while to get our food even though we went in at 4:30pm and the restaurant was still mostly empty. I would recommend this as a restaurant for a date night or some type of special occasions where everyone is here to relax, chat and drink together. read more

The food was just ok nothing special. The oysters were filled with shell bits and needed to be cleaned. The worse part was the service. We waited 25 minutes for a flight of 4 beers. I brought it up a couple time with our server and all she could say is the bar was backed up. The reason the bar was backed up was because 1 server was rolling silverware and the other 5 kept going to the front register. We were on the music side and there were only 4 tables including us and the other 3 were already done. We will not be going back. read more

Our server came out after we seated ourselves and apologized for not catching us sooner, as she was waiting in back to bring food out for a table. The atmosphere is loud in this restaurant. Even with only three tables and a few folks at the bar, it was pretty loud. Hubs ordered the fried oysters. I, the tuna bites. Both were delicious!! My tuna was cooked to a perfect medium rare and served over a delicious non-mayo, tangy slaw. My only not glowing comment is that the blackening seasoning wasn't quite as spicy as I like, but I keep my own pepper powder in my bag, so no problem there! Hubs said his oysters were cooked to perfection, and that his creamed spinach was great (huge serving), too! I was not ready for such a nice presentation and fresh flounder, shrimp, and scallops. The green beans with garlic butter were crisp tender, not soggy. And the mashed potatoes were real and creamy. Where do I begin! They say at the door you're gonna have a 10 dollar cover per person, added to your bill for the band. Then they base your tip to the server on this addition and you pay tax on it. Thats bull****, that's a little shady! Then their prices. I got the prime rib smother that was more 4 pieces of toast with mediocre 4 oz of prime rib on it. It also sat in the heating window for a while as the toast was stale and hard. Then our server with the light up earrings, holy shit she sucked. We came for the That Damn Mary Brewery and found out the tavern bought it due to COVID and licensing issues, and we are so glad we stuck around. We loved the Oh Mama and the Proud Mary, which paired most excellently with the crab dip (needed a couple three more pretzel bites) and the Mobjack Wharf pizza! Now we need to diet, thank you! My fiancée and I stopped in to Mobjack Tavern for dinner with his mom and her boyfriend. We had a wonderful experience. The prices were pretty average for a restaurant in the area. Everything was clean and the decor was inviting. Our waitress was great and accommodating. We ordered the raw oysters to start with. They were yummy. I ordered the fried shrimp dinner which came with 2 sides - I chose a house salad and cheesy twice baked potatoes. My fiancée ordered the smothered shaved prime rib and his mom got the fish and chips. Her boyfriend ordered the crab cake dinner with asparagus and hand cut fries. I wish I had pictures of everyone's meals but only got a chance to snag a pic of my own. The food was outstanding. Everyone cleaned their plates. We will definitely be going back to try some other menu items such as the crab dip & pizzas. They have a very diverse menu. Definitely 10/10 experience & I would recommend to anyone read more

They advertise specials every night (in newspaoer) but our waitress did not know what they were. Nothing in multiple menus about specials or happy hour. ordered oysters on half shell and thought about sending them back. Very small. My opinion, they should have not served them. Had to ask for cocktail sauce. Waitress, looked unhappy. She definitely did not want to be there. Not sure we will be back Anytime soon. read more

The food was out of this world. Steaks were done to perfection. The wait staff was personable and timely. The only down side was the prices.

Disappointed with our visit today, $17 for a Prime Rib sandwich with very little meat and parts of the sub roll were hard and inedible. Have had better experiences here before so could be a one off but would not recommend this sandwich. read more

My husband and I ate at this restaurant last night (Friday). We got a table right away, and the waitress took our drink orders. I ordered a 12" pizza and selected my toppings. My husband ordered the Hog Island pizza. Both were delicious, with plenty to take home. We also had the peanut butter pie...so good. The restaurant was decorated with sports related items, and the bathroom was clean. We were entertained by Rosewood Hollow; they sang and played guitar, oldie songs. I've been to this restaurant 3 times since it opened and this is my first review. Initially, I was disappointed in their menu...I felt that the selection wasn't very diverse, but I decided to give it a few more chances because there aren't many options in Gloucester. The first time I had a burger, no complaints and the fries were great. I like ranch with my fries and theirs is definitely sub-par. On my second visit I got a personal size seafood alfredo pizza, not something I would typically order but I literally didn't want anything else on the menu(there are very few options In the $15 and under price range...sometime you just want something light and casual). The pizza is supposed to be topped with scallops, shrimp, and crab meat...but the only topping I noticed was chopped shrimp. It should be advertised as a shrimp pizza instead. On my third visit I ordered a margarita and shared a plate of their prime rib chili nachos. How disappointing....there was hardly any chili on the nachos, and most of it was beans. I'd say there were no more than 5-7 very small chunks of meat on our nachos. We asked for them with jalapeños, 86 the green onions...but they came with onions and no jalapeños(waitress error, but we reminded her several times before she left the table). The margarita was better than what's offered at the local Mexican restaurant, and only $5.50 for a jumbo because we went during happy hour! If there were more appetizers to choose from we would go there more often for happy hour. The oysters are always good, and they're the BEST deal you can get locally at $1 per oyster! read more

They were short handed and service showed even with a almost empty dining room. Asked for a straw and they said the don't offer straws with drinks but for a 1.00 I could buy one Do not offer bread with any meals (was told they don't have bread) but was offered 2 packs of crackers. 100.00 for 3 people to eat and it wasn't that great. Been wanting to try this place out. We were going to be nearby tonight and thought it was the perfect time. Would recommend over all to go. It is on the high end of our price range so we would not come very often (we also live in Yorktown so it is a little far for us to go.). I had the fish and chips. Very large portions and the chips were very good. My wife had the crab cakes and there was very little filler. Our server, Peggy, was excellent! She kept my drink refreshed, which is my main criteria on evaluating a server. We also had the key lime cheesecake and it was also very good. It tasted homemade. Just wow. I almost never post on Yelp but felt the need to do so after coming here. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to anything that we asked. Nick our waiter was amazing. But THE FOOD is what sold us. The oyster Rockefeller was phenomenal as well as the blackened shrimp Mac n cheese which was one of the many daily specials. I dined here for lunch. They open at 11 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Very friendly and engaging staff. I ordered the prime rib. It was ok. It wasn't really seasoned or savory. The hand cut fries are excellent. They make all of their desserts in house and have them on display. Overall, it was a good visit. My family enjoyed their orders: cheeseburger and fish tacos. First time here and it was a good experience. Restaurant has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating but if you don't have a reservation for dinner you might have a bit of a wait for dinner. Luckily we arrived right before the dinner rush and were seated right away. Due to COVID they don't give out menus, they have a blackboard you can walk up to and read the items but not all items are listed which kinda makes it hard to decide what you want to order cause you don't know about everything they have. We went with their specials which was a pound of crab legs with 2 sides and a side salad, and the prime rib with 2 sides and a side salad. The salad was fresh, they make all their dressings in-house which is pretty cool I had the Greek vinaigrette and my boyfriend went with the house Ranch Both were good. Our entrees were even better. The prime rib came out looking extra yummy, the au- jus sauce was absolutely tasty for dipping everything!!!! I was surprised with the taste of the potato balls, sorta like a mashed potato and then deep fried. They melted in our mouths, Crunchy outside and smooth inside. Great flavor! The crab legs were sweet, and steamed to perfection. The waitress was very attentive up until the restaurant began to get full and then she got really busy with all her other tables. I had one cocktail and that was made really good as well. I would give this place a thumbs up and will return again. Giving it 4 stars and not 5 because I believe they should have more wait staff especially if they have so many tables open for customers to come sit at, you need to have the staff to take care of these tables. Also the prices are a bit on the higher side. For a prime rib and crab leg specials each entree was $29.99 I had one cocktail and my boyfriend ordered 2 beers, our tab was $100. Not saying it was overly priced but for someone who would like to come here and dine with their family and kids 30 bucks a plate plus drinks can add up pretty quickly and become an expensive night out. read more

The food here is outstanding! They have a lot of local fresh/seasonal options on their menu. It's a little pricey, but I think it's worth it because your getting fresh local food. The pizza is even delicious and all their desserts are made in house (Try the coconut cake)! I've eaten here multiple times and have always had good service, except once which was quickly and professionally handled by the assistant manager Mike. First of all our waitress Heather was the BEST, she was very attentive tolerated my husband. LOL We were there to celebrate my niece graduating Gloucester High School the next day. She has Autism and Heather was very patient as her mother helped her order. The food was very good, I had the seafood platter that I ate almost all of it and that's rare. The food here is mediocre. The feel is that of an overpriced version Goodfella's, where the food now has a fancy twist. However the flavor of the food is still cheap especially for the prices. The best deal here is the $1 Mobjack Oysters, although the are inconsistentcies in the quality of the shuck. I found the female bartender's shucked oysters were filled with bits of shell in every bite, while the oyster shucked by others were fine. In all if you are looking for a burger and Southwind pizza with oysters this is a great option. The other menu options just aren't worth the prices. read more
