We've used Coleman 3 times in the last six months. Punctual, efficient, personable personnel. Can't say enough good things. I wouldn't hesitate hiring them again...and again. read more

I have contracted for Coleman Moving in the past and they were great back then. This time I called on a Frieday, and they were available the next day. James and Chad showed up at the early part of their time window, and did a great job all the way through. Great to talk with and hard working guys that took care not to damage anything. I will DEFINITELY hire them again when moving items in the future. The pricing was fair and appreciated. read more

Chad and Pat make a great team. They pay attention to caring for your furniture and fragile items. They worked hard in the hot sun and handled the 23 steps leading up to the front door with ease and grace. Only one minor issue: Coleman charges for plastic sheeting that is used to wrap furniture. I was not told this prior to the move so it was a little annoying to be charged $35 for half a roll. But that doesn't take anything away from these two gentlemen that helped me a great deal on moving day. read more

Friendly service. Hard workers. Price was right. Great communication. Highly recommend for a local move!

Omg they did so much work. Fast and professional. Good guidance from Matt ahead of time about prep. Ours was a complicated move to two places, and things had to be staged. Still all went smoothly and faster than expected. read more

I was impressed with the thoroughness of John Largey in preparing my estimate and for his responsiveness in answering my followup questions. The team that packed our items were very careful in handling the furniture and even washed their hands before handling the cloth items. They also did a through accounting for all the items they took to temporary storage prior to moving. I would recommend Coleman- Allied Van LInes for your moving and storage needs. read more

I did call a few other movers besides Coleman & the prices were nearly the same. I picked Coleman as their review were great. Sat morning right at 10 AM two movers showed up: James & Ben. I've moved several times before (a few were company relocation), so I knew we were in good hands when I met James. Both movers were careful moving from our 2-level condo into our 1-level house both in the Point Loma area. I couldn't speak more highly of this company & their employees than to say if move in the Point Loma & surrounding area, use Coleman Movers. read more

The crew was amazing and worked hard and handled things with care however, the management understaffed the job and resources. After 10 hours they still hadn't finished the move, or put together all the furniture they disassembled. After two full trucks they simply left and didn't even offer to come back to finish another day. Therefore, I was forced to hire another company to finish my move. Sadly enough the company is located in Point Loma which was also where I was moving from and despite my calls they refused to come out to even see what the job entailed. So if you do choose to use this company, my recommendation is to have them visit the site to assess the proper number of trucks and staff needed to complete the move in one normal work day. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. read more

We were moved by JP, Bradley and Dennis. We got a head's up that they were running a little late. It was really just a wee bit. We probably wouldn't have even noticed, if they hadn't called. Still, we appreciated the courtesy. It was one of the few "heat wave days in San Diego., but they didn't let that get in their way. They showed up and were 110% up to the task! They were rolling, taping & hustling the entire time. We were just about 15 minutes away from the new place, where they carefully unloaded and carefully placed our furnishings, exactly where we wanted them. We couldn't have asked for more. An excellent experience, at a reasonable price. What more could we ask for? Thanks, GUYS! Susan & Doug read more

I absolutely love this moving company and use them often. I worked with my favorite crew today, Scott, Chris, Matt and Dennis. The hardest working, reliable, knowledgeable, fun group of guys I know. They actually make me look forward to moving day. Look forward to working with them again. read more

Very punctual... professional and really nice movers. Scheduled with them to move my piano , they called me the day before to confirm and showed on time as requested. Really happy how they moved the piano with care and the guys were super friendly. Would recommend 100% read more

After a HORRIFIC experience with our last move, our real estate agent Seth Robinson recommended Coleman for our move. Let me tell you... these guys kick ass. They showed up on Mothers Day to move our entire 3 story townhome in one shot into our new three story townhome. Nothing but stairs for these guys, from one place to the next, and they crushed it flawlessly and effortlessly. Initially, Darrell Chris, Dennis showed up, and preceeded to go completely Beast Mode on packing, stacking, and carrying bed frames, dressers, filing cabinets, and furniture down three flights of stairs, only to reassemble them in our new home with another three flights of stairs. Scott and Pat showed up soon after and dived straight in to it to help all of us meet our deadline if a 2pm finish, which they did with time to spare. Epic.... As a caveat, we had just completely remodeled, repainted our new home,  and they maneuvered heavy solid wood Indonesian furniture throughout the home without so much of a ding to furniture or home. Virtually impossibly heavy chairs and office furniture up and around corners flawlessly without so much of a scratch. These guys are fast, friendly, and professionally awesome, and their level of care and efficiency is second to none. We highly recommend Coleman beyond ANY moving company in town, bar none... if you have nice furniture, a nice home, and want a company that cares, these are your guys. Tip them well, cause they work their asses off, and really care about their customers. read more

This is the 4th time I've used Coleman and they will continue to have my business. James and Matt were very friendly and helpful during our move. I highly recommend using this company. They make it extremely easy to schedule with them, their movers are professional and you're provided quality service. They employee some of the most experience movers in the game! read more

Coleman just moved furniture in my house so I could refinish my hardwood floors. Once the floor were refinished and the finish, they moved everything back. They did both moves without a hitch. Great customer service, great results. read more

Coleman Movers on Rosecrans in Point Loma is fantastic! From calling Matt and receiving a well-laid out quote, to increasing the number of movers just 1-day before - he was calm, cool and collected. The 3 men who helped us move were kind, considerate and hard-working. They genuinely appreciated lunch we got for them and worked super hard to get some pretty large pieces upstairs. It felt nice to keep it local, and support another Native! Book these guys without hesitation. K&P Daubner read more

Found Coleman through a recommendation on Nextdoor and am so happy with their services. I've never used professional movers before because when you're younger you just pay your buddies with beer and pizza, but sadly those days are behind me. I called Coleman, they gave me a super straightforward quote and didn't ask me to send them a room by room list of furniture like other companies did because I did shop around a bit just to check prices. Their guys showed up right on time, were friendly, efficient, professional, and didn't mess any of my stuff up. They also wore their masks the whole time and didn't take any breaks - 2 common complaints I found in a lot of reviews of other businesses. Our movers, Pat & JP were great and I would 100% use them again and recommend Coleman to anyone. read more

I can't say enough good things about these movers! I have moved many times and have never come across such efficient and caring movers. They knew what they were doing and took extra care to make sure not to knick walls/floors or break any items which included a grandfather clock and a baby grand piano. They arrived 2 minutes early, did not take any extra time on the break/transport to the new location, and overall just had a positive attitude which made an emotional and difficult day fly by with ease. Thank you to J.P., Pat, Dennis, Scott, James, and Ray. From start to finish, everything was professional, efficient, and very importantly FAIRLY PRICED. Matt was well organized and a pleasure to communicate with in setting everything up. Highly Recommend! read more

I give Coleman Movers 5 stars for their professionalism, knowledge, graciousness and promptness. Absolutely highly recommend them. Matt's crew members of Scott, Chris and Dennis were very helpful. read more

I've used Coleman twice now and highly recommend them! They don't bat an eye or wince at and awkward furniture, stairs/elevators, or half packed boxes. They're fast, efficient, and didn't damage a single item. I love that they'll provide wardrobe boxes and dissemble and reassemble furniture. Their prices are fair and comparable to the other movers. I booked less than a week ahead and was able to get the date and time I requested no problem. I highly recommend them and will never move myself again. Money well spent! read more

I've used Coleman's several times and recommended them to friends. Personally I've always been very impressed, and I've gotten the Same feedback from anyone to whom I've recommended Coleman's. They are family run and it certainly shows that they take pride in their reputation. read more

After a horrible experience with another local moving company I called Coleman to move me from my storage locker into my new condo. Scott and Sean were available earlier than promised. They went above and beyond, flipping mattresses, nailing in couch legs, moving box after box into different rooms. They went incredibly fast making my move end within the minimum hours required. And the whole move they were incredibly happy, easy to talk to and so friendly. I would have asked them to stay for lunch if I had food in my house. I would enthusiastically recommend Coleman moving. I will never use another moving company again. If you are debating about what company to use, stop here. Request Scott and Sean and I promise your move will be seamless and a couple of days later you will be sitting on your couch surrounded by boxes and watching college football. read more

I HATE YOU GUYS!!!!!! Stole my Louis Vuitton accessories... you think I wouldn't find out because these were items smaller than a dollar bill? My fault thinking I can give people the benefit of the doubt that items wouldn't be stolen from me.. horrible workers! Replying to this man-Had I called the company none of you wouldn't do anything for me. I already know this. You will side with your son/your employees. So instead of wasting my voice I'd rather just leave a review to let potential customer(s) NOT to use your company. No, this isn't/wasn't a fake review. Absolutely authentic. And the move was under my husbands name.. Duh!!!!!!! People will have Yelp before getting married and some people like me wont change their name. Don't focus on people's names-focus on your workers. This is the local mover you want! Coleman moved me a few months ago, but I have just unpacked all the pictures/photos and delicate glass. NOTHING was broken. We used Coleman movers after a recommendation on Nextdoor. I thought they were great, on time, nice guys and pretty quick. My only complaint is that they started using their plastic wrap, which wasn't really needed, without asking me and it ended up being $30 extra. The customer should definitely get a heads up on that... HOWEVER the owner Matt called and quickly offered to reimburse me for that so I would say their customer service is awesome. read more

I wanted to share the terrific experience I had with Coleman Movers today. Matt their VP was flexible as we continued to push back move dates due to housing purchasing issues. The 4 person crew led by Scott, and Pat, JP and Dennis were terrific. I highly recommend them and if you need to refer I'd ask for them by name. In all the moves I had to do over the 5 last years, starting with our cross county move, this has been the best experience. Highly recommend them!!! Isis read more

Had a large sleeper sofa that needed to be moved. Not a big job but was not able to do it myself. This company beginning with Stu, who I spoke to her on the telephone, was just terrific. The guys were EARLY! Who ever heard of that? The size of the job really did not matter, because I could not do it myself or with friends. For the record, sleeper sofas weigh a ton. These guys were just great. Durrell & James & ____, very Knowledgeable courteous and spot on with everything I expected. We had an incredible moving experience with Coleman Moving Systems! We had Scott, Chris and Dennis helping us move our home in San Diego. They were reliable (showed up exactly on time), communicative (they responded and adapted to all of our requests along the way), and incredibly nice. Most of all, we were impressed with how fast they worked! Unfortunately, we were behind on packing and we were worried that they wouldn't be able to mover certain un-boxed items (as we've experienced with other companies in the past), but it was no big deal to them. They quickly helped us box and move everything we needed moved, which was a huge relief for me (being 6mos pregnant and slower than I normally am). We've used a few different moving companies over the years and felt they were all mediocre, but we can confidently say that the guys at Coleman Moving systems are the best - we won't hire or recommend anyone but them! Thank you for making our move as stress-free and smooth as possible! P.S. Anyone hiring movers, please remember to tip them - they work SO hard to take good care of your things while moving them efficiently. read more

Nice people, but incredibly unprofessional. We booked them for piano moving and were given a window to expect them (1-3pm). My husband took off from work to sit at home for their arrival. They called me at 1:45 to say they were running late-which was totally fine with me-and said to expect them between 4-6pm. They then called again 5:10 saying they actually couldn't make it and we would have to reschedule. They acted like it was no biggie and they could even do it in the morning which wasn't possible for us, or for the people from whom we were picking up the piano. No one could sit at home and wait another day during the week. I told them that wouldn't work, and we really needed the piano today as per our reservation. I was told the previous job had become bigger than they had planned for ("the people added extra things") and there was nothing they could do about it. So I guess it's just my problem now. They've got great reviews on their website so I'm sure they do well if they actually show up. But I wouldn't use them if you are someone who values their time. read more

I scheduled a local move on fairly short notice, received a prompt response from Matt to my initial inquiry, and was able to schedule our move for within a few days. The 2-person crew (Scott and Chris) arrived on time, and was very efficient! They were friendly, professional, and handled our items with care. Both residences were left in great shape, and I couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. I hope not to move again soon :) but if I do I would hire Coleman again with confidence. read more

These guys showed up ready to work. We have never used movers before. We weren't sure what to expect. We loaded a truck of our own with the boxes of the house the day prior and left the furniture for them to load into their truck. We paid for three men instead of two and I think it was a good decision because it allowed two guys to move furniture pieces and still another was in the truck. They have a 3.5 or 3 hour minimum and unfortunately they count mileage as double. The drive from the old house to the new house is counted as double time, if it takes twenty minutes to drive they count it as 40. So be ready for that. They guys were careful with our stuff and handled the large screen tv better than I would. The new house had stairs and that was one of the reasons we got movers. They asked where items went and never complained when I had to tell them something went upstairs to the third floor. No dings on walls during the move in was also a nice benefit. Though I would have understood if there was one. I also wasn't prepared to tip but didn't want to insult them. I googled it and found that each guy gets $20. I felt they deserved more but I was already paying 400 and change. They happily received the tip and in moments our houses was moved! read more

We contacted Matt who I believe owns Coleman Moving Systems. His prices were fair and we set up an appointment. He did not require a deposit just that we set up a date for the move. They called the day before and they were spot on time. Scott and Sean were our movers. Scott had over 20 years of experience. They knew how to protect our leather items better than we did. We will be moving back into our high-rise condo in six months after a remodel. We will be asking for them again. Excellent compliance with high rise living rules and took great care of our items. Great job guys~! As a note, every negative complaint tied to this company is not really Coleman Moving Systems. It is a different company that moves cross country or stores your stuff. This company does not perform those tasks. Take some time to read all their happy customers reviews. read more

Below is an email exchange between Albert and me about the damage his movers did to my $3000 Beautyrest Black mattress. Before I hired Colman I told Albert that I had a heavy mattress and he said, "heavy stuff is our specialty." First, the two guys dragged the mattress on blacktop and sidewalk, then tried to load it on a cart that was about 3 feet wide by 4 feet long. To get it on the cart, they folded the mattress hanging over the sides like a giant V so they could move it without it dragging on the ground. The next time I moved, about a year later, when the mattress was stood up on its side the memory foam slide to the bottom because the glue bond broke loose. Beautyrest confirmed that under no circumstances should the mattress be folded. The only way to get it back in place was to cut the pillow top about 2/3rd around the mattress (see pictures). Unfortunately, since it had been over a year from when they did it, I could not sue Colman for the damage, and Albert is such a little man he wouldn't take responsibility. If that wasn't bad enough, they stole a box of valuable items. It took me about a week to unpack completely and I discovered that box of items that belonged to my dad and grandparents was missing. HERE IS THE EMAIL WITH ALBERT ADMITTING WHAT THEY DID TO MY MATTRESS: From: Albert Erojo colemanmoving@att.net A mattress box was merely a suggestion for the next time you move. The movers said that you were injured and that pads or straps would not have helped. We do not provide mattress boxes. From: jeff Subject: RE: my move To: colemanmoving@att.net Good reply Al. I'll post it on the internet reviews like yelp. "Coleman Movers are experts in moving large items except when we damage them, then you should have had a box." What about all the pads you had in the truck that were never used? And I told those guys not to try to move it without my help. From: colemanmoving@att.net Subject: Re: my move To: jeff Sorry for the inconvenience. I spoke to the movers and they said it was the biggest, most unmanageable mattress they ever moved. Learning from this, I would suggest purchasing a California King Mattress box for the next move. A mattress bag will not suffice. Al From: jeff Subject: my move To: colemanmoving@att.net Al, I just want to let you know that your guys dragged my $3000, one year old king size mattress on the ground last Monday. The side and part of the top is covered with dirt and grease. When I pointed it out to the tall blond guy, his response was "it so big you can't help but drag it on the ground". That is what I hired movers for. Your specialty is suppose to move large things. They did not use the strap when they got to my new residence and I told them at my house that I would help them move it, which I did when we were loading it on the truck. They tried to load it on a small cart at my new place and move it which did not work at all. read more

We have just used Coleman for our second full home move and Scott and Chris and a 3rd new person (can't remember his name - hails from Pennsylvania) were all excellent! Scott and Chris moved us a year ago and remembered lots of details on pieces that needed care etc. They are so polite, conscientious and hardworking. Nothing is ever a problem. They make moving as painless as moving can be... Scott is organized and kind to his team. He is specific and has everyone wash hands before touching fabric pieces. Not an easy move with 2 levels and brand new renovations and these guys didn't make a scratch or leave any marks whatsoever. Impressed again!! read more

Darrell and Dean were fast, efficient and took great care of our furniture. We were originally going to rent a UHaul truck and do the move ourselves. It would have cost more by the time we added the truck, per mile charges, insurance and all of the extras for blankets and a dolly. Plus a full day to load and unload. Instead Darrell and Dean finished our move in less than three hours and we were able to sit back and relax while they did all of the heavy lifting. I'm glad that other customers posted their reviews because it helped me make the decision to use Coleman. read more

Professional Movers who know what they're doing. I called Coleman Moving Systems Inc with an attitude that I might receive another bad experience- I requested three movers to unload my storage space. I could tell when they arrived early and ready to work that I had hired the right moving company this time. Another thing that I could tell right away is that they were an experienced team and that my belongings would be handled with care. These three Men moved my heavy furniture up many stairs to the third floor and placed each piece in the designated rooms. I had a very bad experience with another company that advertises to send Two Men AND move your household items with A company TRUCK . I used them one time and I made a BIG mistake. I'm still waiting to hear from that company for all the damages those inexperienced youngsters caused during that move. I'm pleased that I called Coleman Moving Systems. I will be using them again if the need arises in the near future. Thank you Scott, Chris and D'Andre. Excellent job! read more
