I love Cold Stone. The ice cream is fabulous. I live down the block and when the weather is nice I probably stop by once every other week give or take. The ice cream is always delicious and perfect except on the rare occasion where they've run out of my favorite flavor - cake batter. However, the service here is just trash in general. I will say I've had an occasional average service experience and I've had one really good experience with a staff member that I am pretty sure was flirting with me. However, on this particular occasion the service was particularly offensive. The line is always out the door in the summer. You would think during prime hours they would have more staff but that is never the case. You can assume that if you go here on a Saturday evening after 7 and the weather is warm, you are going to wait 20 minutes or more. On this particular occasion it appears everything was going wrong for the staff. There were 2 staff members only and the line was out the door. The 2 staff members were both making the orders then ringing up the customer. For some reason, after I already waited for 20 minutes, the guy that made my order decided to defer from the established system and instead of ringing me up, he proceeded to take the next persons order. Not only did he defer from the system but his attitude was so unbelievably bad, I felt like I was offending him by being a customer. The second staff member was in the process of dealing with a pissed client who apparently ordered a cake days ago that was not available. I stood there for another 10 minutes with my ice cream melting as I waited to pay. Unacceptable. read more

I don't think there is one in DC and when I was around in this area a few weeks back of course I had to stop in.. it reminds me of home! Birthday Cake remix is my favourite, along with the oatmeal cookie ice cream. You can get basically anything mixed in which is really cool. The lines do get long, but thankfully I went during the week and it was in and out! I like this better than Ben & Jerry's. read more

It's been slowly sliding downhill. Had to walk out the last two times. The staff is not friendly of late.

One if the slowest services I have ever had at a cold stone. I ordered a chocolate meltdown and the funnel cake with ice cream. The meltdown barely had fudge and I waited a bit for it. The funnel cake was a very long wait, and it was stale with frozen strawberries. I was quite displeased with the services given what was ordered. read more

It shouldn't be hard to go wrong at a Cold Stone franchise, but this one was a disappointing waste of time. On a summery Sunday evening, the line to order went all the way to the door. I wasn't too surprised - the weather was perfect for ice cream! But we spent the first 15 minutes of our visit at the exact same spot by the door without moving up more than a few feet. I would have left if I hadn't just trekked from DC to satisfy a cold stone craving that had been building for months. As I was standing there getting cranky, I noticed that there were FIVE employees working, but only two helping customers. Two others seemed to be having a break in the back, and the last one in the front was making waffle cones and taking care of some other odds and ends. I understand the need for breaks and chore assignments, and I'm not sure what everyone was tasked with, but I was so irritated to see that none of the employees on the clock were hustling to show any sense of urgency to the overflowing line of customers, and one of the girls in the front was eating a snack. When we finally got to the front of the line, our order was taken and prepared as expected. The "cold stone" seemed to be a little too warm, and when my ice cream came, it was totally melted. They were out of waffle cones, and after waiting such a long time, we didn't feel like staying for the extra time while they made more. The cherry on the sundae (pun intended) was when the credit card machine wouldn't work properly and we had to stand at the register, ice cream melting all down our hands, for another five or ten minutes. We should have ordered the waffle cone after all. We left the store after a whopping 45 minutes with mediocre ice cream to show for it. My ice cream craving would have been better satisfied elsewhere. read more

Update: This place is dirty. -------------------------------- This place was packed on a Saturday night and I witnessed one of the workers get into a heated argument with a customer. But that alone won't deter me away from Cold Stone. So after waiting for about 15 minutes, I finally got my ice cream. Everything was good. The waffle bowl was fresh, and the brownies were good. They were a bit stingy with the fudge, but I didn't necessarily need those extra calories anyway. I will be back, despite the dispute the worker had with that customer. I just hope that it is never me on the receiving end. read more

Went in last night around 8pm for dessert with my family. Terrible service. The employees behind the counter were more interested in talking and goofing around amoung one another then offering customer service to the customers (and there was a long line) we waited about 12 mins to be helped. When I ordered my ice cream he made it wrong and the ice cream was half melted already. My daughter had to put hers in a bigger cup to prevent it from leaking on her. My overall experience was disappointing. We have decided to no longer go there. They need some management skills in their location. read more

Even with the lines out the door on the weekends, I will gladly wait to get my fix of Birthday Cake Remix. I exchange the brownie for yellow cake for a taste that takes me back to being 8 years old and at birthday parties. Some people get annoyed at the fact that the staff sings after they've been tipped but it amuses me, especially the banana song. Be prepared to wait a while if it's the weekend at night but during the week you can get in and out pretty quick. read more

I have a Coldstone gift card. I live in DC and the closest creamery is in Silver Spring, Maryland. I bike 45 minutes to the store, am delighted, and put in my order. It's dripping in my hands, and I give the manager my gift card. "Sorry sir, I can't accept this. The gift card machine doesn't work." What a bitter end to the delicious journey. read more

Walked in the door at 9:35 PM. The Worker was in the back. I asked for a Milkshake and he told me They dont make Shakes after 9:30. He was a Short asian Worker With glasses and Really Poor Customer service! I've had a Milkshake at 9:55 Before so I know Thats not a Cold Stone policy. read more

Ordered an ice cream cake last week. When I went to pick it up, it had a different message on it than I'd written in the online order! What's up with that?!! They added the words "Love you" without ever checking with me. That seems so bizarre. The cake itself was very good, but if I ever ordered one again with a personalized message, I would EMPHASIZE that they CANNOT add their own words! Really strange. The manager tried to erase it with whipped cream, but it didn't look as good as it should have. read more

It was sunny and beautiful afternoon around 2:00Pm. I walk in to the store there were two employees but no customer. The lady employee make a waffle, she didn't even pay attention for the door open, the men look at me and he walk to the lady, gave me his back. No good afternoon, no welcome to Cold Stone, or nothing. They keep talking about the scheduling, the job description's talks about what he did all day, cleaning and stuff like that she get paid more but he do the job, blah blah blah....not to mention they were too loud, and don't even turn around to me. For a few minute or may be 3 non of them talk to me or ask me what I want. Finally the men ask me what I want. I order my favorite Cheesecake fantasy, Like it. Look, He make wrong size, and he just put 3 raspberries and very little crumbles, he didn't mix it well and he add a lots of whipped cream remember still talking loud. That was horrible, I pay and leave the store disappointed and mad, I promise myself not to come back to this location. I gave it one star just because I LOVE ICE CREAM. read more

This place always smells like my mildew/mold or some old bathroom. Yuk! Please fix this because I don't want to have to stop coming there just because of the smell. read more

Normal Cold Stone. However, DO NOT GO ON SUNDAY. It's packed beyond belief and the wait time is crazy!

I wish I could give less stars. Service was beyond bad, the guy behind the counter actually yelled at my 9 year old when he tried to order an existing recipe. The guy has no business working there. Awful. read more

I wish there was a way to put 0 stars! This location is horrible! The staff is always rude, not attentive and could really care less that you have walked into the establishment. I go to buy a $40 ice cream cake and when I pick up the one I want...I'm told that it's already sold to someone who ordered over the phone. Hmmmmm...shouldn't we take the cake that's not for sale out of the case with the other available cakes? Just a thought! Not to mention that was the last one of that kind. I started to order the cake online but because I live 2 seconds from this location I decided to just walk to make sure they had the cake available before I paid online. I'm glad I did because had If not I would have been really disappointed....as always! read more

I have never really had a problem when visiting this place.Usually when I visit there isn't a line (Good luck I guess?) and they usually have my favorite on hand every time (cotton candy).Or even if I'm in the mood for something different they have it.Customer service is dependent upon who you get and when I get my usual crew I have good customer service.I went on a Sunday on my last visit and didn't have my usual crew there so the woman behind the counter was abrupt and rude a little. Not to mention the line was slow and long.I finished my ice cream by the time I arrived at checkout. read more

The creamery was way warmer than it should have been, so the ice cream wasn't fully frozen, already on the verge of melting. The lady behind the counter was on the phone gossiping from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. She barely said anything to me or my boyfriend as we ordered, and I had to repeat what I wanted multiple times so she could hear me over her phone conversation. She rushed through my order, leaving huge chunks of cookie dough in my already half melted ice cream. The soupy ice cream and bad customer service was not worth the $7 for one scoop, and I will be going to get my Cold Stone experiences at another location in the future. read more

I came into the store last week to redeem my birthday coupon. Buy one get one free deal they provide for the birthday club members. I came into the store after work around 6pm and there was no line. The worker made up the order quickly and processed the coupon with no problem. I took off one star since some of my favorite ice cream was not available. I would suggest going at non busy times otherwise the wait is crazy. read more

A good palce to go and be careful what you order it might have a jingle that goes with it but that's not a bad thing. Hopefully over the summer they hire cuter girls so i can saty in longer with my lil cousins and teach them how to flirt. read more

We eat a lot of Coldstone wherever we go. This location was very busy but the line moved relatively quick. The store itself was a bit messy- garbage overflowing, spills on the floor, tables needed wipe-down. However, the service was great, we had a delicious dessert and MOST IMPORTANTLY- when I forgot my shopping bag and realized 15 minutes later, the staff had already set it aside for me. I was able to drive back and pick it up swiftly- thankful that there are still good people out there. THANK YOU! We'll always be loyal to Coldstone. read more

First of all, the waiting line was terribly long, and this franchise looks awfully underemployed. After waiting over 10 minutes for a cup of ice cream, the taste was nothing close to delectable, rather a thick, saccharine, and made me thirsty, rather than being refreshing. The store was out of smoothies, and the overall experience was sub-par. Please improve the quality of your ice cream. The ice cream was so thick it tasted like it was made out of pure emulsifier, making me have to buy a bottle of water after. read more

Well , I was driving around and my kids saw the store and immediately asked for ice cream , so we decided to get some , and let me tell you that since we opened the door, the 2 employees looked at us very unfriendly and went back to the store , so I had to called them when we were ready to order, and the employee who took our order was very rude and even my kid told me why he looks mad, so let me tell you , the ice cream was good, as good as other stores but the services was really bad, so I will never come back here read more

Bad experience today, took my son for a smoothie, it was watery, I complained to the cashier, she told me, couldn't I see she's new, I told her that's why she needs someone to help her. She didn't even apologize. She wanted to make another one, we just paid and left. I'm never going to that store again. My son said it was terrible after tasting it, we had to dump it in the trash. read more

Ice cream is great, but service is extraordinarily slow. Too often there is only one employee working at a time. They need to hire more people! read more

LOVE IT!!! Love their ice creams but the employers don't listen. I constantly order something different than they give me, but the ice cream is too delicious to even care for that. read more

We went to this location this past weekend and the line was incredibly long. We waited probably 30 minutes to get our ice cream. When I got my ice cream I got a waffle cone and when the guy handed me my ice cream it was melted... To point of it being like soup and to top it off the cone he gave me was broken, creating a huge mess. I will not return again especially when there are several other ice creameries up the street. The ice cream is not cheap either... When I'm spending $7 for a "small" ice cream and cone I expect better quality than what this place provides. read more

went there 3 times in the last month, 1st time i went there i had a pleasant experience ordered 2 got to have it (large) sized specialty ice cream, payed around 8 bucks, went there a second time later in the week, i walk in 6 minutes before they closed and the female workers rudely said they were closed didn't get a sorry or anything, went there a third time and this time was pretty sketchy i ordered 2 love (medium) sized specialty ice cream, but this time i spent $12.49 which was odd b/c the medium size was more expensive than the large size that i got a week before, then the i complain to the girl that it was too expensive, she then said that she would give me a discount if i put 5 dollars in the tip jar which raised a red flag, this employee is clearly scamming her job for money and should be fired. read more

Well It was bad. They took my order for my big event and I confirmed it twice before. They said not to worry everything will be done. But 2 day before the event I got a call that they can't do it and that I was mistaken about everything and they don't do things as I ordered. Not only this I placed my order and talked to a wrong person in their shop (I was twice referred to the same person). That was quite a shock. I told them to cancel my order. But, than I got a call from another person and she convinced me not to cancel my order and that she will do her best to fix it. Well she really convinced me and she did her best and I would be happy customer, but people in ice cream shop screw my plans again. One hour before to go to get my cake they sold it to somebody else. Ouch. They fix something very fast right before pick up and didn't apologize and didn't give me any discount. I ask myself will I go to Cold Stone in SS again even just to have a cone with Ice cream NOOOOOOOOOOO. read more
