The best ice cream in PHX! I went into the store while visiting the mall after I had a hankering for ice cream. A beautiful girl name Savanna helped me. She was so polite and sweet and gave me exactly what I asked for. Coffee ice real with heath and almonds. It was so good! The store was pretty busy but I love the fact that I was acknowledged coming through the door. That always makes me feel welcome and I will always come back if receive service like I did from that young lady today! The place was also very clean considering b they make ice cream all day . Not only is the service horrible but the cleanness is horrible too. Ice cream is whatever but I cannot get past the dirtiness...the back of the fridge that's in front of the window being displayed is horrific. If that's what the display looks like can you imagine how it looks in the back of the shop that we don't see? read more

While the service was good the ice cream was horrible! My chocolate ice cream felt like I was chewing rubber. The flavor was there at least but I only ate half and threw the rest out cause I couldn't handle it anymore. My friend liked her ice cream flavor choice, but her mixed in gummy bears she said were absolutely disgusting that she had to just spit them out and toss the rest. $14 for two small scoops and a mix in at Cold Stone is ridiculous! Especially for what we got. The inside of this place also looked a little run down as well. I won't be going back. read more

Considering the store is at desert ridge it's actually quite small. There is no seating inside, and it can get awkward and cramped if there is a long line. They usually close off one of the doors so you can only exit and enter through the other one, which helps the line stay inside but also just crowds it more. Ice cream is on par with other cold stones. If you are new to the brand, you select your ice cream flavor and mix ins (candy, peanut butter, chocolate sauce, etc) and they mix it in front of you.. on a cold stone (get it?). The ice cream is pretty heavy and comes in three sizes (like it, love it, gotta have it). I can eat lots of ice cream but have only ever finished a like it from here considering it's on the heavier side of ice cream. My go to is usually the mud pie mojo (coffee ice cream, chocolate, peanut butter, nuts). Most of their pre-determined creations are good though. There are several tables outside of the store as well as the various additional seating around desert ridge. Service is hit or miss here. However, I will say on our most recent visit the girl was super friendly and fast. read more

I love the menu, creations, variety, and location. It's all you could want for a dessert spot that can please everyone in your group. I'm giving 3 stars because of staffing. I've put off this review for a long time because life happens and people call in sick but this is the 4th time I've come in on the weekend and there's only 2 people working. The TWO people working are amazing... hustling and great attitude. But only 2? The management should better schedule as a courtesy to the staff and customers as well. If the staffing numbers were more appropriate, this ice creamery would be a solid 5! read more

My wife and i love to come here to grab some ice cream on a night out. This location however needs some serious training or to hire better more dedicated staff who aren't lazy and constantly goofing off. This place on the weekend can get very very busy like most ice cream places at popular spots like Desert Ridge. The Friday night we stopped by was no different. long line out the door but we decided to wait anyway. They had 3 people on staff but I'm pretty sure they were working at the pace of about 1 1/2. The process they were doing was one person would scoop, mix and ring out each customer so my wife had hers mixed and in cup at the register before my order was even taken. They would mix the ice cream about 2 or 3 times not fully incorporating the ingredients before scooping it in the cup and they might be something wrong with their freezer as well because my ice cream was pretty much soup by the time i got it and walked outside. When they finally checked us out at the register the girl who took our money walked away to go help someone else, the guy bags mine and was too distracted by joking around with his coworker to even think about handing me my purchase. I had to reach over the counter behind the register to pick up my bag. Just all around lazy/not paying attention/no hustle younger generation that obviously doesn't put any pride in their work. read more

I went with my family and bought ice cream for five of us. As you know it's not cheap. I expect quality cold ice cream. They had to remake a couple of ours as by the time we got it, it was already soupy. The place was so humid and hot. The poor girls working there were flustered and hot. I expect to walk into an ice cream shop and for it to be cold. It was ridiculous. Horrible. read more

Don't bother with mobile ordering. If you show up at the time it's ready, it won't be and they will ignore you for 15 min while they make other orders. Would have been quicker to wait in line. People who came in after my mobile order was due to be complete (17 min after order went through) were served their ice cream first. read more

Cold Stone as in Stone Cold expensive. Bring your wallet, bring your spouses wallet, knock over a Brinks truck, get a second mortgage if you want more than two scoops. Maybe not all that bad but the value proposition here is really lacking. Maybe if you do all the "add-ins" and play that game, this might be an easier pill to swallow. Old School. Just wanted a scoop of ice cream and hot fudge. Period. Five dollars. Maybe if I was at Chase Field I could understand it. The hot fudge was neither hot or fudgey. Actually quite runny and unsatisfactory. The salted caramel ice cream was surely not a premium product. The flavor didn't pop much and really didn't compliment the hot fudge (or vice versa). I'm probably fortunate that Cold Stone is at Desert Ridge rather than Baskin Robbins as I'd be outfitting myself with elastic pants. I love ice cream and only buy it as a treat and I can safely say there isn't elastic pants compliments of Cold Stone in my future. read more

I was CRAVING Cold Stone after a pretty salty dinner (this is weird for me, I never crave dessert - i'm the gal who likes seconds over dessert). My husband was in a hurry to his hockey game butttt was still sweet enough to stop on the way to fulfill my craving. The saying is true, happy wife, happy life, right? ;) All in all, I was in and out very quickly and my ice cream was good! I got sweet cream with raspberries mixed in (have been getting the exact same thing since I was a little girl). The guys working weren't the friendliest but hey, it was 9 PM on a Friday night. Lets be honest, they'd probably rather be out with friends than scooping my ice cream! It also doesn't seem like the cleanest store ever but it fulfilled my craving and got the job done! read more

The workers are rude. I love ice cream but the humiliation is not worth it. I got the family size but he decided not to put all the ice cream in it, instead of filling up the cupboard he put it in the trash when I asked him why he just shrugged his shoulders. What's not to love? You want plain ice cream? They got that. You want your weirdest mix of ice cream and toppings, made for you so you don't have to do dishes? They got that in spades. Who doesn't love ice cream? Okay, you lactose-intolerants... they have sorbets and yogurts. It's a welcome addition to the Desert Ridge Marketplace. While reading the other reviews, it's very common that the workers get all have attitudes and that was my problem as well. They don't wear gloves, just an FYI if you feel disgusted by that. I'd recommend going to other locations if you want a different attitude with the workers than this one. I still got my ice cream though ! read more

4 staff working on a hot day with only 1 actively serving customers. Other staff are either re-stocking ice cream (not a good plan while store is busy) or simply pretending to tidy. For the money charged, I expect better service. Location in Kierland didn't have this problem the last time I was there. read more

We had Brianna serve us today and it was not up to our regular cold stone expectations. We were paying for the largest size and she put 1 piece of candy in and didn't chop up any of our toppings. I was very sad because cold stone is always my favorite guilty pleasure. Every time I get the same thing and it is $11. I kept having to ask for more and she charged me $14.75. Super disappointed and will not be coming back here again.... she also did not have the nicest attitude. read more

There was a family emergency that made it so all plans had to be cancelled and it was already a difficult time due to the emergency. I wanted to get a nice cake from a local bakery to help make up for the cancelled plans, so it can still feel like a birthday. I had tried several other places, but was unsuccessful. I went in to the store (about 10 minutes after closing, which I had no idea until later), explained the situation to the very kind and empathetic worker, and she found a vanilla cake in the back that was exactly perfect. I appreciate that she went above and beyond to try and help, especially because it was after closing and the cake that was provided to me wasn't originally for sale. Thank you so much!
