I was so happy to have found Simply Eggless Bakery - Délicieux located in the heart of Artesia. Every cake, every dessert they make is eggless. They also have vegan cakes. I spoke to a pleasant and helpful lady over the phone to place my order. I asked for her recommendation on which flavor is best. She mentioned the Black Forest and Mango Mousse are their best sellers. I went with the former in 8 inch (medium). For those who aren't familiar with the Black Forest, it's a rich chocolate sponge cake soaked in sweet cherry syrup and layered with smooth vanilla mousse and luscious cherry mousse topped with decadent chocolate shavings and cherries. Price was $39.99 which is very reasonable. She sent me a link over the phone for payment. Made easy peezy! Thank you miss! I have never bought a whole Black Forest cake in the past and the first one I buy happens to be eggless. So cool! And this was my very first time eating an eggless cake. Even cooler! They are closed on Mondays so I had to pick up the cake on Sunday. It was perfect because I was coming home from Carlsbad so it was on my way. It turned out this bakery is inside the Pioneer Cash & Carry grocery store. I informed the nice young lady behind the counter that we would not be eating the cake until Tuesday. She suggested I place the cake in the freezer that Sunday night and take it out at 7:00 PMish on Monday night to have it defrost gradually in the frig before consumption on Tuesday afternoon. She said if the cake is placed in the frig the entire time, it may dry out. Of course I didn't want a dry cake so I followed her instructions to the T. Thank you so much miss! Cake was very moist and spongy. Filling was not too sweet... perfect complement to the cake. Not one ounce of dryness at least not in my slice. SO VERY YUMMY! I now want to try their mango mousse cake. I may just return to get them by the slice so I can try all the different flavors. If you are seeking eggless or vegan cakes / desserts, Simply Eggless Bakery is the place to indulge!

I grabbed a butter wreath and proceeded to the check out line to order a Thai Tea with Boba. The cashier was done taking a woman's order, and as I proceeded to walk to the register, she looked at me and walked away. I really thought she was going to make a drink or help a customer out, but was I wrong! She walked towards the back area, flipped through some pages on the wall, and proceeded to talk to the 3 female workers. Two of which were passing the phone around. They conversated and laughed for about three minutes. Meanwhile, the male worker patiently worked on the customer's drinks. He seemed to be the only one on the floor actually doing his job! One of the female workers looked at me and walked towards me with her head down. She politely took my order but by then I was annoyed. I paid for my drink and my bread, (which btw was burnt from the bottom). Unfortunately, I did not notice until I got home. This location needs to train their staff all around. Burnt bread and horrible service. I'd much rather drive to the 85 in Gardena. They have waaaaaay better customer service.

When I picked up the cake today and arrived home, I realized that the cake was not finished and was missing the soccer toys. I told her the cake was not given to me as pictured and was missing the toys. She told me that she asked me if I wanted the toys and I said no, which wasn't true I literally told her I wanted as pictured. She told me that wasn't true but I could come back and get the toys for $12. She also stated that she had not charged me for the cakes I understand that mistakes happened but I was bothered by the lack of accountability. She could have apologized because either she misunderstood or did not finish the cake instead she gaslit me and was dismissive. I called another baskin and asked if the cakes in their binder are charged additional for the toys and told me that the toys are not an additional charge, the cake price includes the toys. I drove back to the store and when I walked in she said that I was here for the toys and asked her co worker if she could help me but her co worker said no since she was ringing someone else up. The girl had to help me and again told me it'd be $12 for the toys. I told her that I had called another baskin and asked if the toys came included without additional charge which they said yes to. However, she still claimed that the toys were additional charge. I asked her to call her manager but since her manager was not present she called her through her phone which I felt was sketchy. Finally, she came back and after speaking with her manager she told me that just for this once the toys would be free but next time I have to make sure I purchase them. I told her next time she has to tell me if they are or aren't included with the cost. She clearly made a mistake by not including the toys, instead of just giving me the toys since clearly lacks customer service and cannot admit she was in the wrong, she is really trying to charge me for HER mistake. Additionally, yesterday when I purchased from the store she tried to charge me for a double scoop ice cream cup that I had paid for beforehand. I did do two separate orders with more ice cream in the second order but she was hesitant to remove the additional cost of the 1st order even after showing her my receipt. Overall, I felt the girl was very disorganized and unprofessional.

There was a descent line but it was moving at a reasonable pace. You order at the window, you pay and wait for your order. The Space outside is nice with a limited amount of seating in a common area. The building is well lit and you can listen to some nice background music while you wait for your order or while eating. For those who don't know Handel's. A small serving is practically three scoops, offering excellent value. **Strawberry Ice Cream (Waffle Bowl): 5/5** Handel's truly elevates a timeless favorite with this exceptional strawberry ice cream. It had an irresistibly creamy texture while allowing the fresh, vibrant flavor of real strawberries to shine through in every bite. The crisp, freshly made waffle bowl added a delicious buttery crunch that perfectly complemented the luscious strawberry ice cream. **S'mores Ice Cream (Chocolate-Dipped Waffle Bowl): 3/5** This rendition of the beloved campfire treat had plenty of potential but ultimately missed the mark. While the ice cream itself was smooth and velvety, the graham cracker flavor overshadowed the toasted marshmallow and chocolate notes. The chocolate-dipped waffle bowl added a crisp textural contrast and a subtle hint of chocolate, but it wasn't enough to make up for the otherwise one-dimensional flavor profile. While our experience was somewhat hit-or-miss, Handel's demonstrated why it has earned such a loyal following. With its extensive selection of flavors and substantial portions, we're excited to return and explore more of the menu.
