Needed to feed a film crew last minute. Stopped by here for lunch to pick up 4 pizzas. They were basically the only restaurant nearby where we were, so I didn't have a ton of hope. But HOLY CRAP this place was so good. We got a 'Local Farm', 'Tuscan Summer Sun', 'Pesto', and a plain cheese for pick up. Lot's of ingredients on all, and they were super fresh and great tasting. I live in Burlington where there's 10+ pizza place options to choose from, but this place (out in the middle of nowhere) may be the best pizza I've has since moving to the state. It was a hot muggy day, and everyone was skeptical of pizza, but the whole crew devoured the pies and were asking for more. Definitely did NOT disappoint. Thanks for the great food! According to Yelp, 2 stars translates to "Meh. I've experienced better.". No truer words. Yes, the Coli, as the locals would call it, has been a round a long time and is a Bradford staple. But with little competition, where else would the locals go? The previous evening, we dined at the Millwaters, previously called the Perfect Pear. The food at the Colatina is ok, as long as you temper your expectations. It was decent enough. Our party of 5 ordered various salads, an everything pizza, lasagna and their signature shrimp and steak diavolo. the service? What can I say? It was friendly enough, but very painful. To begin with, our waiter tried to encourage us to order wine with our meal. We wanted water, but I guess that did not satisfy him as he offered the wine a second time. We sat at an oblong table and he chose to stand at the far end to take are our orders. So we had to yell over the noise and music so he could hear us. The bread for the table took a long time to arrive and only one small basket and one small dish of dipping oil for the long table of five. Ok, it won't kill us to pass it around. The food slowly arrived, then it got slower and slower. Two of us were not served when the other three got their salads and pizza. The waiter was MOST apologetic about the delay and admitted that he caused the mix up and delay. He offered to bring us some garlic bread while we waited some more for our food. THAT took a long time. After everyone else finished their meal, our last two orders arrive and not even together. To add insult to injury, our waiter came to asked if we wanted ground pepper and cheese for our meal, after we were half way thru. Sigh, the check came quickly, but he disappeared again. Actually he did not disappear and I saw him and many other waiters hanging out together, having a great time. I had to walk the check and credit card over to him. No, we will not be back. read more

It took 45 minutes to get our food and my plate had definitely been sitting in the window for awhile. 25 minutes after we ordered our appetizers we were told they were out of stuffed mushrooms. 10 minutes later the spinach asparagus dip arrived. Kind of bland but it did look like it was made on site. Fettuccine Alfredo rather bland. My son did like his Chicken Masala but my other one didn't like his steak and cheese sandwich. Bun was cold and should have been toasted. Steak and cheese mixture probably microwaved. read more

One of my favorite restaurants on the planet. We live in Boston but visit Lake Morey Resort a few times each year. We found Colantina's a couple years ago while driving through some of the small towns north of Fairlee, Vermont. This place is a real gem. Aside from the usual chicken Parmesan, scampi, etc, they have lots of unique Italian dishes. My favorite is the creamy chicken prosciutto Marsala and the Cajun chicken fettuccine. The bean salad is great, and they have a terrific salad that has walnuts, goat cheese and maple dressing. Service is excellent, and some of the views from the back room are breathtaking. read more

the Colatina is a wonderfully warm and inviting italian restaurant. it is always jam packed full and worth a wait. the aromas that assail you when you open the door are enough to cause you to need a bib. their pizza is fantastic as are their other menu items. (truth be told however is that i only have had one other thing besides pizza, it is simply too good to not get it.) the service is always friendly and efficient. they also have a take-out side if you just want to go home with said yummy pies. (watch out tho, they have a dessert case that will tempt you into spending even more money while you are waiting to pay for your pizza.) i think the food is great but i have to say that the prices were a little surprising. i am used to paying around $12 (plus toppings) for a large pizza and it cost me almost $50 for 2 pies and 2 desserts last time i went. oh well. it was good and it is just money, right? read more

Wanted so much to like this. Cozy little restaurant in a scenic Vermont town. But, the food is very bland, and we have tried numerous items to no avail. They need to step up the quality of the ingredients and possibly need to add the obvious things such as garlic and fresh herbs. Service is not too great. The best pizza in the Upper Valley, hands down. Nothing in the Lebanon/Hanover area can even compare. They have a good number of locally sourced ingredients, and have great beers on tap. Sunday nights with Marco the magician are a big hit with the kids. We live in town and love having Colatina here. This is one of my favorite local spots. Every time someone visits we HAVE to go here. Their bread is on point every time and it's probably the only place I ask for seconds - and that's just the bread! I've tried a few meals here including a burger and pizza, but ultimately always come back to their Tuscan Tenders. Wow do those have a kick, but in a good way! I'm a "spice for flavor" person and although quite hot, the flavor is really what makes these wow me every time. I cannot get enough of Colatina Exit and always look forward to a reason to eat here. Came to this place to go to the bar, but came in through the downstairs, looks like a pretty nice restaurant. Everything smelled good. Onto the bar... Great prices. In this area you wouldnt expect expensive drinks. Not the case down the street. At Colatina, the prices were much more reasonable. Bartender was a little hit or miss, but luckily we got some help from a local. Great selection of beers, nice crowd and the prices were right. We stopped here after our trip to Mr. Washington. Great service and delicious food, also nice atmosphere. I had salmon with pasta and my wife had Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo. Great choices. They started us out with a Mushroom and Clam soup that was truly amazing. read more

Simply Amazing food and service. Huge portions that made a great lunch the next day. We just moved to Bradford and I'm sure we'll be going back quite a bit! Our meal for 3 was under $75. Including wine. In NYC it would have cost at least $200. Superb value and great food...doesn't get any better than that. For the restaurant, it has a great environment and ambiance, and the staff is nice. But the food has been really underwhelming. It was just meh. Nothing great. What really made me upset was when I called in a pizza order (for the pizza counter) 20-30 minutes ahead of my arrival, only to see person after person making an order on arrival and then receiving it while I kept waiting. Come time find out, they had no idea what order I had made because someone hadn't communicated to someone else. So I had to wait another 30 minutes. My family & I were visiting the area for a wedding & were looking for a place to eat & happened to stumble upon the take-out portion of this restaurant. One side of the restaurant is sit down & the other is order anything to go. We ordered a pizza & breadsticks & waited about 20 mins... Totally worth the wait. The pizza was amazing. They have lots of specialty & unique pizzas to pick from & of course the normal choices too along with other food options. The prices were a little high but there aren't many restaurants to pick from in this area & I would totally go there again. read more

My family and I stopped here on our way back from vacation. We had high hopes because we'd asked a local for a recommendation and this was her 2nd choice (The Perfect Pear was her first, but they were closed). Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience at all. First, there was no kids menu available and our server gave us a very vague idea of what might be available for kids. Although the restaurant was almost empty when we got there, and we ordered sandwiches and a plate of plain spaghetti the wait was incredibly long. My husband's panini was not at all what he ordered. My sandwich was missing the horseradish mayo and the roast beef tasted old. The mashed potatoes my son ordered (one of the few things our waitress mentioned that was on the kid's menu) were very garlicky and strong tasting, not kid friendly. My other son ordered spaghetti with butter but there was no butter on it, just oil and salt. We were never asked if we needed more drinks and although there were kid's books available they weren't pointed out to us, despite the long wait (we found them on our own). To top it off, the bathrooms were hard to find. And it was not cheap. A bad lunch should not cost that much money. read more

I am no phantom gourmet, and perhaps a bit of a "homer". That disclaimer posted, I appreciate the streetside trattoria aspect of this restaurant. The mood and fare are as close as anyone will find in the North Country in terms of traditional Italian appetites. They serve a wide variety of pizzas, pasta dishes, and salads. Every large sized entree comes with a generous (enough) side salad. But, you'll only get the salad if you opt for the large portion, rather than the small (they offer two sizes on almost all entrees). The atmosphere is clearly something into which the staff puts energy in terms of decoration. Everyone there is courteous, but not tremendously forthcoming with details about specials, what they recommend, or whether you get a salad with that. My companion enjoyed her seafood alfredo very much, and my meatballs pasta was no frills: a juicy sauce and sparsely seasoned, meatballs combining three meats on the well- done side. Apart from the fact that the above sauce was served over spaghetti, I found the dish more typical to Italian cuisine than to American spinoffs. With at least two sub or pizza businesses within a stone's throw of them, the Colatina attempts to set itself apart. Before they try to bring classic cuisine to life, they must try to strive for excellence and thoroughness in their preparation and delivery. read more

I went here about a year and a half ago. Seeing roughly half of the first-floor seating empty, I requested a booth. The server showed visible annoyance, and after being asked about a preference for the second-floor seating multiple times, I caved and took an uncomfortable seat there. I just wanted to order my meal. On my way down the steps, I slipped on a bunched-up piece of carpet and fell very hard on my back. The wind was knocked out of me, and as I was gasping for air and trying to lift myself off the ground a server rolled his eyes and impatiently waited for me to get out of his way.
