Super cute. Modern and inviting. Indoor and outdoor seating with fun games to keep you entertained. Asking myself why haven't I stopped in before?!? The food was DELICIOUS!! Service was very pleasant (Emily). I can see this being great for a romantic dinner. It was an incredibly slow afternoon when we went. Just one other couple. I would love to see how it is when full. Seems like it could be really fun when at capacity. My husband and I can be picky with menus so we were happy to see the change when made. We are not necessarily adventurous so things like duck or quail just aren't for us. Chicken fingers or Burgers and we are good. We will definitely be back to try more. Great Family Restaurant. The ambiance is really nice with the low lighting, and the outdoor seating is a plus. Not very many places like this one in the area, so I am thankful they are present and open for Sunday dinner! My favorite item was the stuffed mushroom cap appetizer. For dinner I had the stuffed haddock and my partner had the fish & chips. read more

The Forest Street pub is an interesting eatery. The restaurant is a nice place to go for its great ambiance and history, but the restaurant does come with its flaws, mainly the food and pricing. The food at the Forest Street pub is very average, there are a lot of high-end recipes and menu items that do not always come out great. They also have lots of menu changes removing good options. The price you pay for the portions you get should also be criminal. The service is good but you will have nights where you have to wait for ages for your food the customer service is very good. The Forest Street pub does have a bright future they have made many nice add-ons that create a much better vibe, for instance, their outside eating and outside activities. The Forest Street pub has a lot of things that could be fixed but overall looks to be improving. read more

This place is friggin amazing. I am not from this area and by no means am I trying to put down this town but from a outsider's perspective I had very little expectations going into here considering how small the town was. This place hit all the marks the service was fast friendly and helpful the appetizers were banging although I ate them really fast and wished there were more, but most of all the main meals and dessert were absolute money!!! I probably will never get the chance to come back here but if you live anywhere remotely close you should absolutely come to this place and check it out. Very very happy with it. read more

This is the second time we have eaten at the Forest Street Pub, not including the time we dropped in just for dessert, and it will definitely not be our last. The food is delicious, some with unique flavors and creativity. Every person in our party of five loved their meal, and we each ordered something different. Even the cocktails are a treat. I especially love their lemon drop martini and pumpkin martini but the beer drinkers in our group were happy with the menu too. The town of Woodsville needed a nice restaurant like this. It was an old house converted into a restaurant by a nice couple with a vision from Jersey. Their shtick is "home made". Home made tater tots, fries, house made sauces, impressive pub food options as well as some nicer entrees. They have a full bar and local NE beers on tap as well. They are brand new, so service is a little slow while they find their flow. Right now spots are call ahead unless you sit at the bar. The bar is nice and comfy, and outdoor seating seems like it would be great for a lazy summer day. I'd recommend this place if you want to treat yourself in Woodsville. read more

The place looked lovely from the outside. Nice decor inside. The waitstaff were friendly. I should have paid attention to the bad reviews as they were more accurate than the positive. The food was terrible. We ordered stuffed shrimp and BBQ ribs. The shrimp were cooked okay, but the stuffing had an unpleasant, indescribable taste and odd texture. Inedible. The ribs were dry and tough with a slathering of ketchup as BBQ sauce. The side dishes were small and under seasoned. Maybe the chef was sick and the busboy cooked the night we were there. Sarcasm not intended. It was that bad. The prices charged did not match the quality of the food served. I'm giving this place a thumbs down. read more

The day that the Forest Street pub opened, my family trips to our house in NH became different. Before, we'd stock up on food and cook - because honestly, the options for food were limited at best. We'd travel to Lincoln or Littleton to get good food and that wasn't practical. Now, The Forest Street Pub is a mainstay of our visits. The location is amazing - a truly welcoming atmosphere and a wonderful interior. The drinks are awesome - any cocktail you want, they will make, and the beer selection includes many local favorites as well as beers I've never tried before (all incredible). Lastly, the menu is excellent. Regular dishes that hit the spot (the Sunday Prime Rib is to die for) but also specials that make a regular visit worthwhile because you know you'll find something that makes a memory - we had some Buff Chicken Tacos recently that are some of the best tacos we've ever had. I love this place. Long may it continue to serve great food and drinks amongst great surroundings and great people. read more

After a recent bad experience at the Littleton Freehouse, I personally was open to a new experience but did not have high expectations, was I wrong! We all had such an amazing night out, the atmosphere was perfect, our server Emma was so friendly, efficient, her knowledge of the menu from the food to drinks was on point, The drinks were awesome hats off to the bartender, as far as food, well that too was AWESOME. We are staying at the Nootka Lodge 1/4 mile away and wanted something local. We originally wanted to just get takeout, but be aware, THEY DO NOT do take out, as the google search said they do. The place has a great atmosphere, very quaint, with friendly staff. Very clean and the food was excellent! My gf ordered baked stuffed shrimp, rice pilaf & fries. Best rice pilaf I have ever eaten. Perfectly seasoned, as was the stuffed shrimp, that were perfectly cooked. I wanted the chicken picatta, which was no longer on the menu, but they were able to make it for me as they still had ingredients. Again, best chicken piccata I've ever had. Very balanced flavors, chicken medallions were kinda small for the price ($24) but again, flavors, service & atmosphere made it worth it, and being a small local business, I don't mind. I helped organize my grandfather's "celebration of life" reception at the Forest Street Pub in May and could not have had a better experience. We inquired about having the reception there after my uncle and aunt visited the area and recommended the restaurant. Since it was a fairly new establishment back then I sadly was not previously familiar... Regardless, Cori (the co-owner along with her husband) was immediately in contact with me after I inquired, was readily available for my many questions along the way and remained flexible throughout the planning process (I was previously an event planner so I can be "a lot" with my questions and plans). After we thought we had a general idea of what was desired, the chef met with my mother and her sister to discuss the menu and then met with me the day before to finalize the plan. The staff was also wonderful - from the hostess who chatted with me while I waited to set up the night before to the lovely ladies who worked the event the day of - everyone in the restaurant was everything that you would want when you are hosting a somber occasion and have specific ideas for what you want (which can always be a touchy subject when celebrating someone's life). I should add that the food was raved about by everyone! We had everything from hot appetizer stations and charcuterie boards to a buffet luncheon menu and an open bar - everything and everyone was welcoming, accommodating and professional throughout. So, if you are looking for a great meal in a warm and welcoming (but also high end feeling) environment, I recommend you visit the Forest Street Pub (check out their specials that are listed on their Facebook page!). I was so excited when this restaurant opened, as we really needed something a little different than the usual fried food places. I've been there several times and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I've enjoyed the food every time with only one exception. I ordered a shrimp salad and the shrimp were so salty I couldn't eat them. Other than that, everything has been great! read more

We had dinner at this wonderful restaurant on October 2, 2021. Upon entering you are greeted by a very nice lady named Janice. Once we were seated the service was excellent. The food was delicious and the selections from the bar were numerous. Deb, one of the owners, came by numerous times to chat and see how everything was. I really wanted to love this place, as we desperately need a new place in town! Aspects of it were worthy of 5 stars but others were definitely not! We ordered the house tater tots; these were the highlight of the whole meal, they were incredible....the only thing I would go back for!We were there to celebrate an anniversary so we splurged on surf and turf. We would have loved the prime rib but that is only offered randomly. My steak (flat iron steak) was way over cooked, no pink at all and tasted charred. I'm not sure if I've had this cut of meat before but we weren't asked how we wanted it cooked??!!! My husbands looked more pink but not very flavorful and you literally only got like 4-5 thin slices of the meat. The surf and turf comes with either stuffed shrimp or stuffed haddock, so we got one of each. My husbands shrimp tasted good but he only got 2 small, stuffed shrimp. The tails were not removed off his shrimp so he had to dig through the stuffing to do this! My haddock tasted delicious but again a very small serving. Husband got mashed potatoes and onion rings for his sides. Potatoes were good but the onion rings were glistening in grease. My sides were the roasted fingerling potatoes and house greens with vinaigrette. The potatoes weren't bad and I got a lot of those but they were over seasoned with thyme/rosemary. The greens were just that.....a few pieces of lettuce with dressing! My husband got a watermelon alcoholic drink which he said tasted good but the entire glass was full of ice so there was hardly any drink in the glass for $8. Our bill was nearly $100 for two, which for our little family is a lot of money! For $32 a plate, we expected so much more! We were celebrating an anniversary and unfortunately got seated in the entryway which was just awkward, especially since we had a reservation. Service was ok but not spectacular. Will likely try a few of their pub style options before totally writing this place off but certainly disappointed with our first visit! Knowing how to cook steak is a restaurant must! Best restaurant in town by far for lunch and dinner. Fresh ingredients are used for everything from salads, sides (not like a couple of other restaurants) to all entree's. The service is friendly, and the plates are fairly priced, for what you get. The menu on line is indicative of what they serve, we had the fish taco's, (excellent), Chicken Marsala, Chicken Piccata, Ribeye steak, Pasta with sausage, Arugula salad with shrimp, all dishes were great. Sometimes they don't have an item posted on the menu, sometimes they have much more than what is posted online, especially Sunday's, they have Prime Rib special, but get there early for that as is sells out by 7pm! Delicious!!! If this restaurant were in my area, it would be on my top places to frequent as the atmosphere and decor is welcoming, and the beer and drinks from the bar are generous.
