This place is friggin amazing. I am not from this area and by no means am I trying to put down this town but from a outsider's perspective I had very little expectations going into here considering how small the town was. This place hit all the marks the service was fast friendly and helpful the appetizers were banging although I ate them really fast and wished there were more, but most of all the main meals and dessert were absolute money!!! I probably will never get the chance to come back here but if you live anywhere remotely close you should absolutely come to this place and check it out. Very very happy with it.

Awesome food and great people. Love this place. The desserts go fast so get there early. They are scrumptious. Will be back! Thank you.

Friendly staff, good food and atmosphere. We were happy to stumble upon this place in such a small town. Cakes are made my owner's mom. Delicious!

The town of Woodsville needed a nice restaurant like this. It was an old house converted into a restaurant by a nice couple with a vision from Jersey. Their shtick is "home made". Home made tater tots, fries, house made sauces, impressive pub food options as well as some nicer entrees. They have a full bar and local NE beers on tap as well. They are brand new, so service is a little slow while they find their flow. Right now spots are call ahead unless you sit at the bar. The bar is nice and comfy, and outdoor seating seems like it would be great for a lazy summer day. I'd recommend this place if you want to treat yourself in Woodsville.

Never disappoints. Excellent food, really nice servers. Beautiful dining room, and dogs allowed, leashed, on the porch!

Place is pathetic, was turned away because the waitress didn't want anymore tables to wait on when there was plenty of room.

There's 3 places in one - the tasting room is modern with seating inside and out. Great place to come if you're wanting to experience the many brews on tap. We started here where we enjoyed several different brews. Then we headed over to to the Brewery Pub & Kitchen where we enjoyed one of their delicious pizzas.

I decided to drive down from Montreal by myself. Ladies, never hesitate to take the solo road trip when you get a chance :) I had an awesome time! I had not done a solo visit to Schilling since 2018 and was a bit nervous about it being awkward, but it wasn't at all. Schilling is a good spot if you are by yourself (and are the sociable type). I spoke to many very friendly and nice people and Jeremy the bartender looked after me very well. And since I had no pesky Boyfriend getting bored (he doesn't like craft breweries, lol), I was able to try many different beers throughout the afternoon & evening - Vorhe, Schlaumieir, Betula, Combover, Ponyhawk, and Kinsman (thanks for the recommendation on that one - it's a new fave!) Great atmosphere for Annafest with live outdoor music, delicious foods and beautiful weather by the river. I'll be back soon and can't wait for Oktoberfest in a couple months!

Came here for the first time for a special event and we were impressed with the place, which…read morerecently underwent an extensive addition that increased the floor space, providing for a large tasting area and plenty of seating. River Roost is just a brewing facility with a tasting room, so there is no food provided or for sale. However, the place is across the parking lot from Big Fatty's Barbecue for some amazing, out of this world barbecue, Mac & Cheese, and the like. And you can bring it here to munch out while savoring the many beers on draft. And since it's not a restaurants, Fido is welcome. The owner was the attendant on that day and he was quite affable and also knew his beers like the back of his hand. I tried a "Mas Verde" IPA and it was absolutely delicious. Overall a superb time with wonderful people and great beer and superb food from across the street.... The only warning about the area is the parking situation. As the area (which used to be a blighted warehouse and industrial area) has become gentrified and dotted with apartments, the nearby Northern Stage Theatre, and numerous restaurants, parking has become an issue and customers should either arrive early or realize they may have to park several blocks away. But that only shows just how popular this area has become and part of it is River Roost's doing. Great place!!!!!

Not withstanding that, it was popular because people loved the beer. Now they have expanded the seating area markedly. It's at least six times larger! It includes tables and booths and a bar. When we were there six years ago, it was Covid times so we had to be separated two different tables, but we still had fun. The bartender was fun. He actually turned us on to a root beer drink that we have made on many trips since. During our trip yesterday, the hostess wasn't very friendly as person on earth. The hostess was not there when we got there so we waited a few minutes and then thought we needed to venture into the restaurant a little further to find someone. She then greeted us by telling us we should've stayed at the hostess table to be sat. She then continue to make slight comments such as when you're ready I can actually see you and things such like that I don't normally write reviews where I have to add that some of the staff members were rude, but I do wanna note that. The food was delicious . The nachos were amazing. Two of my friends ordered drinks . The beer flight was cute. They came in little mason jar glasses with handles.
