I went to Colab with some friends for lunch. Two of us ordered the brisket sandwich, and we were both quite disappointed. There was such a large amount of fat on the meat that we had to take our sandwiches apart to remove some of the fat and reassemble the sandwich before eating. I am aware that brisket can be a fatty meat, and a little bit of fat actually enhances the taste. But, in this case, you wouldn't believe the pile of fat left over on my plate! I should have taken a photo of it, but I didn't want to make a fuss. I did call our waitress over to ask her to please tell the chef about removing the top fat on the brisket before serving it and to show him the pile of fat that was on my plate. No accommodation was made on this $19 sandwich. read more

My favorite restaurant. Menu changes often and is inventive with dishes that are both familiar (to this southern woman) and adventurous. Service is always awesome and the setting is both family friendly and great for a special occasion. They fill a niche that no one else has here in Stuart. Adorable environment, lovely staff....had the frittata....tasted rusty from the skillet they served in it, and was also cold. The toast they served with it could a cause a serious trip to the dentist! Hard as a rock!!! Tried several time to rectify, but the waitress kept forgetting to bring needed items & then never checked to see how everything was, once it arrived. So I simply gave up! A bit disappointing for dinner last night. The special lamburger was merely ground lamb. Since I am gluten free, that meant ground lamb with a few caramelized onions, alongside a very large portion of large leafed greens smothered in vinegar. Really just a small effort to serve an appetizing meal would have been appreciated. In addition, while browsing in the store as we left the restaurant, a woman approached asking me to sign a petition promoting pro choice in Florida. Too much lettuce and I guess the cook believe in very thick slices of tomato ,so add all that in 2 slices of bread and you can't open your mouth to taste it. I took mine apart and used utensils to eat eat. They serve it with the . lettuce was delicious. My husband ordered the brisket sandwich on toast with lettuce tomato and cheddar cheese. The-brisket which is smoked there. It had a good flavor but again had to take it apart because this slice of-brisket was at least 1 1/2 inch thick no one would able to get their mouth around it so he ate that with a knife and fork also. We also ordered a fried rice dish that was delicious. But quite large in size took half home. Extremely different in fried rice. Big chunks of pork,kimchi, scallions, brown rice the flavorings can't explain ,but it was mildly hot and also sweet. This we enjoyed. I guess you would have to like unusual food to eat there. I don't even know how to rate it. The little store the have in front when you walk in Carrie's all their vegetables they use and the brisket. The have the most gigantic cookies I ever saw and all was a limited supply. They have jams and different peanut butters hummus and a little ice cream. This is the cutest place with the best food. We have the smoked brisket and chicken for two and it was amazing.

We were so excited to try Colab Kitchen in Stuart for the first time. The concept is excellent. The building and atmosphere are all fantastic. Unfortunately our experience was so disappointing that it will be difficult to convince us to try again. Up front the market is lovely with friendly staff and inviting baked goods, produce and lots of interesting items. Our server Alex was less than attentive. We waited almost 40 minutes just to get our coffee, then no cream or sugar. We finally had to get up and get sugar ourselves as another server finally brought the cream. My husband and I order the Frittata. It was completely tasteless. The Shakshuka sauce tasted like tomato ketchup. Mine was completely burnt on the bottom and it was basically a hockey puck. My husband asked for his to be under cooked, so at least his tasteless Frittata wasn't burnt. He had to get up to get salt and pepper as no one came to the table to see if we needed anything. Alex came back to give us our check but never to see if we wanted any refills on drinks, water, coffee, maybe a dessert. Our friends had the lemon ricotta pancakes and were also underwhelmed with their food. We so wanted to love this place but at those prices, we won't waste our money and try again. read more

This place is very trendy and nicely appointed. We had a reservation for Sunday brunch but were not seated until 45 minutes after our reserved time. The menu is limited . I ordered the brisket sandwich which was served on plain white bread and accompanied with a side salad. The sandwich would have been better if the bread was toasted. Also would hope there was healthier bread option than white bread. The salad was just a pile of lettuce with a faint dressing - pretty tasteless. My wife ordered a salad with brick chicken on top. The salad was again a pile of lettuce with a scant shaving of cheese. The salad dressing was bitter. The chicken was tough and tasteless. As nice as the restaurant is designed, We hope the owners put some additional effort into a better menu and improving tastes of its servings. The staff was disorganized which can be expected given shortage of help. Additional training is needed. read more

Every time I go there I feel like I have new favorites. For girls night out we had the deviled eggs (to die for) and Brisket with sweet potato (with marshmallows and pecans) and tomato feta salad. The cornbread was fantastic and the Pinot noir was excellent. Dante the server and his helper (Veronica or Vanessa???) we're friendly, knowledgeable and you could tell they wanted to be there. To be fair... I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. Great things here but also some things that should be considered for improvement. Here's the good: the place itself is bright, well done, with a beautiful outdoor area. The staff is courteous and pleasant. Pancakes at the BOMB. Salads are delicious. The food has a lot of flavor. Areas for improvement: the chicken brine content should be adjusted. It renders the chicken very salty. The ice tea is weird. It's muddled with some sort of berry mix and it's just odd... just leave it, please. Ice tea is good on its own! A starch option would be nice, like hash browns or home fries. Also, not sure if this was a logistical planing oversight but having the bartenders also service the tables at the other end of the room seems like not the most efficient way to do it but maybe it was just the day we went. Also, food did take a long time to arrive... we're not here for fast food but when you're dining with children yes, timing matters. read more

There are simply no words to truly describe this most welcome addition to Stuart's dining experience. We recently hosted a surprise birthday brunch for a friend and every guest agreed it was "perfect" in every way. The picnic table outdoors was beautifully prepared for us with lovely flowers (fresh from the farm) and arranged by our professional server Sage who was attentive, accommodating and always smiling as she performed her difficult job. Ashley, the floor manager, called before the event to confirm the details and came to our table several times to check in with us. The food and drinks were beautifully prepared and delicious to the taste. We enjoyed a variety of dishes from the menu, both shareables and entrees and everyone loved their choice. Went here for lunch today with some friends and our kids. The staff was more than accommodating for us. We had a bunch of little kids with us. They had toys for the kids and allowed us to sit and eat out by the toys so our kids could play. And the food was PHENOMENAL.
