We had 15 or so people and trying everyone couldve had their own room. This place is enormous. Both homes are set up with high end appliances, furnishings, and bedding. Not the cheap stuff we expected from the big name Swedish brand that we all know and love. The kitchen has every piece of equipment you could ask for (just bring spices and ingredients!) Each room had its own private bathroom and in the cottage each has their own patio and seating. The fire pit is surrounded by comfortable Adirondack chairs, the pool with plenty of chaise lounges. There were kayaks, ping-pong, arcade games, shuffle board, skeeball, board games, pickleball, fishing, swimming. Plenty to keep the whole party entertained and then some. The hosts were easy to contact should we have needed anything, which we absolutely did not. Only issues we ran across were a somewhat broken yet still functional dishwasher in the Lodge, and a ball getting stuck intermittently in the pinball machine. Both did not impact our stay whatsoever haha. Overall this place is GORGEOUS and honestly would be there perfect setting for your small wedding, family reunion or wedding party get away. 1000% would recommend.

She really took the time to listen to our needs and got to know us as a family. Everything was well planned out and she sent us off with a written itinerary with all the information we needed to be in the right place at the right time, etc. The drivers and tours she arranged were top notch as were the accommodations. I wrote them an email after learning of what they had done but got no response. The house was not ready for us when we arrived (on time) so we dropped off our bags and left for a couple hours. On our return we found an overflowing trash can down at the boat dock, which we emptied and a few cleaning items (mop bucket, etc) in the middle of the family room. We would have overlooked these small inconveniences if they had not treated us unfairly on the security deposit. Our family gathers at Lake Norman for a week each summer. We have NEVER had a problem with the rental company in past years. We will look for another rental company for our upcoming week in summer 2017.

Quality sleep is everything to me so I was also pleased the beds were super comfortable. The kitchen by far was my favorite part of the Penthouse. I travel for work so the Penthouse was a great weekend alternative to hotel lodging. I will definitely stay at the Birmingham Penthouse again and at any Utopia Suites locations.

We were dealt with some unfortunate and challenging last-minute changes, and StayLakeNorman took care of us like family. Being new to the area, this was such a blessing. This companies standards exceed so many other rental options with their beautifully appointed homes. They are well-stocked and provide so many little details that make the difference (ie, fully stocked coffee bars, environmentally safe household cleaners and soaps, kayaks, paddleboards, etc.) Each home is thoughtfully decorated with extraordinary views that just can't be beat. When I came across Long Cove, I'll admit I was weary because of the reviews. Well, no other places were available except for Long Cove, so I booked anyway and now I'm hooked! A couple days before my reservation I went to check out the grounds, and Don was very kind in giving us a tour of the property and our actual cabin. Then the day of the rental check in was smooth as everything was already set. My kids set up their inflatable raft and took it out on the beach/lake and had a blast. We had cabin #14 so it was nestled right where the trail is for the beach access, and easy to see what the kids were doing. This particular cabin has 2 porches. One has rocking chairs and long bench seating, and the other porch is large and has a large table for outdoor dining as well. I did bring an additional table to set up food for my guests. Around sunset we walked out to the dock's side where we were able to get great sunset lake views while gathering for my happy birthday cake. Don was extremely helpful in getting us everything we needed for roasting s'mores at the fire pit that night. Too much more to rave about, but this place exceeded my expectations and we definitely plan to return. Having my birthday celebration here was and amazing blessing and extremely worth it, especially with having given my life to Jesus the week prior, and being able to be on the lake. I can't wait to see the plans in store for Long Cove, even though it's great for what it is right now. Thank you soooo much Don and the rest of staff, y'all are appreciated!

Pool has obviously been closed a long time, filled with debris and in need of extensive repairs…read more Docks are broken and unusable. Outdoor furniture is dirty and many are broken. Netflix not working. Cleaning is minimal. This is a shame because this it is a beautiful spot on the lake.
