WARNING - PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SCAMMERS
Having been a renter for most of my life, this is the most insulted I have been by a property management company. I have always received my full deposit back, so I know the drill when it's time to move out. We lived in this home for 2 years and left the property in good, clean condition. We cleaned everything the lease told us to, had the carpets professionally cleaned and even made sure to check and snake all drains on top of cleaning the floors, baseboards, window sills, appliances, doors, front and back porches, you name it, etc. We were returned $600 of our $1150 security deposit for "cleaning and painting" - Those things would have to be done no matter what to have a new tenant move in! There was no way a family of 4 could live somewhere unnoticed, but we cleaned all day to make sure it was up to their move out checklist standards. I was a good tenant, never asked for any maintenance, never complained, kept our rent current every month through a pandemic and through the whole family testing COVID positive, through surgeries and times I went out of work for medical reasons, paid all our fees without question, never did anything I wasn't supposed to and always remained in good standing with the staff.
On our move out day, we spent the day cleaning everything, patching holes where pictures were hung, getting the carpets professionally cleaned. We had the help of 3 other tenants of the complex on our street that also rent from this company who believed we went above and beyond. They were there when we walked out after taking the mop to the last section in the living room. Pictures were taken of the property, and more importantly, THOSE TENANTS were able to see the condition and work we all put into it in hopes we'd return to them to let them know if they had any hope for their deposit. Sadly, I had to tell them they were right.
The only response we got from this property management company regarding this was that giving us the $600 was a KINDNESS during the holidays and COVID, so they would have planned to keep the whole thing! THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS and if you need a place to rent, PLEASE UNDERSTAND YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR DEPOSIT BACK. I lived in a place where everyone called the landlord every name in the book, a "NY Slumlord" even, and she gave me back the whole deposit after moving out after 3 years. Anyone who has been in my home knows the condition I kept it and it is always in good, clean condition. These people are complete crooks. read more
