Cool space for a coffee shop. Located in Central Truckee, with a great patio area and large crafted tables. The interior is just as cool with lots of seating and even a tv. We went on a weekday and this place was busy as can be. We got a dirty chai, a Gibraltar, and a veggie quiche. The coffee/tea was both tasty and quite pretty. The quiche was not heated up enough, which was a minor issue, but even the taste was just ok. This was a pleasant find. We were looking for a coffee place on our way out from a quick trip to Tahoe. Happy to have come across Coffeebar. The outside area is clean, and very spacious. There's a decent size parking lot, but plenty of other places to park in the nearby area. The inside is a good size foe a coffee bar, it's clean and just has a really nice and friendly vibe. There are two restrooms. Drinks, chai lattes were delicious. Food, their baked goods cabinet is well stocked. We tried the ham and cheese croissant, heated, it was still nice and flakey. Other items we had were the oats and also avocado toast. The bread for the avo toast was pretty thick and actually worked well. An option you can add is a poached egg, it compliments the toast well. When we get back to Tahoe/Truckee, we'll definitely come back. read more

We popped in for a post-lunch caffeine and sugar jolt to fuel the remainder of our trip to Tahoe. What treat! We each had a matcha latte - one with soy, another with coconut milk and the third with almond milk. Those were some of the best lattes we've ever had! They put a good amount of matcha in each cup and the milks were expertly heated. The sugar jolt came from a brown butter rice krispy treat with a toasted Italian meringue topping. Not too sweet and that meringue added a nice chewy texture to the treat. Bathrooms are clean and there is a small parking lot for patrons. I love tea, and hands down, Coffeebar has the best chai tea I've ever had anywhere! They make their own blends and they are so delicious. I wish they sold their tea bags to take home. They have a house blend, coconut blend (favorite), and a roobios blend. Everyone who works there is always super friendly, and they make your drinks at a good speed. I really love that they make their chai at a perfect temperature, so that when you get it at the bar it doesn't burn you but it isn't too cold either. Just right. They also have a fair amount of gluten free pastries (not kept separate from regular pastries though so don't eat if you're celiac), as well as a number of larger meal choices such as breakfast burritos, paleo bowls, Greek yogurt and granola and so on. Got the quinoa bowl and I was disappointed. They ran out of sweet potato hash but they didn't tell me until after they took the order. They asked me what I want to replace it with and I said half tomato and half extra avocado but they only gave me tomatoes and not any extra avocado. But that wasn't the biggest problem. The problem is they don't put any dressing / sauce in the bowl so it was just dry quinoa and pea shoots. Portion is also not big enough for a full meal it's more like a light snack. read more

The space is large both indoor and out making it a great option for coffee. And it's busy, but again, more than enough space for all. We ended up with a mocha, espresso and hot chocolate and 2 muffins. We all agreed that the muffins were the highlight over the beverages. The paleo and the banana chocolate chip were moist, flavorful, rich and nicely sized. The drinks were fine. I've had a better mocha, and honestly the hot chocolate was a little bland. Came to this location once and their other location twice, something always went wrong. Service is pretty bad. They try to make themselves look "inclusive" with their "you belong here" stickers and flags everywhere, but the workers all look like they were plucked from the same place -- they're all young adult Caucasian women. No one of color, no men. When we came in, a young girl was looking at the merchandise, touching everything, and accidentally dropped a honey stick on the floor. Instead of telling the staff, she puts it back (does she know if someone purchases it, they'll be putting their mouth on it/putting it into their drink?) As I was about to mention something to the cashier, the young girl steps behind the counter. SHE WORKS THERE. Is this reportable as a health code violation?? We ordered our drinks and 3 came out. We almost finished ours, when we realized they had completely forgotten about our friend's drink. She had to go up and ask, they were clueless and had no remembrance about her order. It was my last day in Truckee after staying in a cabin for a week for my birthday/anniversary and I volunteered to drive the family back home to The Bay, Yeee! I had to have some caffeine for the drive so I yelped and found this place and saw the great reviews so I had to visit! When you walk in they have areas where you can sit inside and outside and a waiter can help you out or you can order to go at the register. They have breakfast items, bakery items, coffee, tea, wines, and I think some beers? I can't remember but I did see a sign that on Sundays they have buy one get one half off mimosa special, which I will try when we visit again! I ordered their caramel latte with oat milk - so good! And they had some pastries left and I order some pumpkin donut holes. WOW! The right amount of sweet and pumpkin notes. I should of bought the rest of those donut holes haha! You know a place is for locals and it's really good when you have a line out the door, but just once, but thrice during the late morning/early afternoon. It was so busy that I thought to order everything through their online option in hopes it would be a quicker experience. For some reason, the online order had an issue with their system. They also have a kitchen so you can get meals there as well! Want some wine? No problem, they have a wine menu too! Coffees are amazing and they really know how to do it. This place is delicious! We had breakfast on our way out do town. I got the egg sandwich and am still thinking about it, it was that good! My friend had the avocado toast and enjoyed it as well. The employees are friendly, helpful and they practice sustainability, which is important to us. They had lots of tables outside with umbrellas and inside, so you could pick. They are more regularly open than the post office - we journeyed down the hill in an epic snow storm to get Wi-Fi and see faces other than each other and wouldn't you know it, they were open. Whoever runs the kitchen here doesn't seem to care much about what comes out of it. Ordering a sandwich in a place that claims to be a bakery is usually a safe bet. Sadly, not true here. Salmon and cream cheese sandwich. The marbled rye bread it was served on looked like it came from the nearby Safeway. The menu says it includes arugula and pickled onions, both were absent entirely. We also ordered a shakshuka (a special that day). It is served in a small bowl, closer to a side dish in size than a proper entree. Rather than an egg being cooked in the sauce as in proper shakshuka, this one simply included a poached egg placed on top. The menu claimed it comes with a house flatbread, I found it closer to a store-bought pita. read more

Coffee bar definitely holds the title of best coffee in Truckee for me. They do a tremendous job as most independent coffee shops should, but they also have a hip, modern ambience to go with it. They have a nice seating area out front and they're mostly pet friendly (patio only). They have some good food options and have quality vegan and dairy free options. Definitely swing by and check this place out if you're in the Truckee area. Be prepared to spend just a touch more than you would at other coffee shops, but it's worth the price! read more

By far my favorite coffee spot in Truckee. Coffeebar is located in downtown truckee, one street behind the main downtown street. Drinks (4.5/5): I recommend ordering the lavender latte with oat milk. It is quite unique, very floral, and it tastes delicious. In the winter time, their hot chocolate is a really good option. It doesn't have a bitter chocolate taste to it, which some drinks do if they use a strong dark chocolate. It isn't too sweet or too rich--it has a perfect balance of creaminess and sweetness. I have ordered the chai latte a few times, which I wouldn't recommend. It tends to taste slightly watered down. If you want a chai latte, it might be better to go to Zuri. Food (4.5/5): I never leave truckee without coming here and ordering their quinoa bowl. It has quinoa, sweet potato hash, greens, avocado and an egg. It's very filling and very flavorful. Also, I recommend getting a chocolate chip cookie here; they are the BEST. Other: Coffeebar is a little more expensive than other places downtown, but the price is definitely worth it. Coffeebar was 5 stars when we first started going here years ago, the coffee is still spot on, but some of our favorites are no longer on the menu (the veg sandwiches & a few others are sadly gone.)
