Since I wasn't looking for a pastry or breakfast I can only comment on the excellent coffee. Cappuccino was perfectly made and the Americano was rich and bold like I like. Whatever beans they use are excellent in their espresso blend. The service was excellent, and everybody had a smile on their face. The only thing that was odd to me was plastic stir sticks. As a major coffee head, this is one of the better places to get coffee in Lake Tahoe. The coffee is sweet and well bodied, and the food is actually to die for. If you're in Palisades Tahoe and looking for a quality cup of joe, definitely stop by Coffeebar, located in the resort right by the bunny slopes! We stopped by here when we were waiting for our favorite artists to come on for Tahoe Live, and we were pleasantly surprised with their extensive seasonal menu and beautiful views of the slopes. We ordered a special winter spice latte and a rosemary matcha latte, and we really appreciated how the barista took the time to grind and brew the beans through a very expensive espresso machine, hand whisk the matcha, and pour immaculate latte art. The quality of the coffee and matcha was pleasantly very high, and well worth their higher prices of ~$10 per drink (if you get alternative milks like oat). I usually do not write reviews unless it's absolutely necessary. The avocado toast was sooo awful! It was a pre-packaged single serve guac on a toast with few sprouts. I couldn't believe how yucky it was. We also ordered breakfast burritos and it was small, premade, not made to order, it was eatable. We came to this coffee spot while we were in town for a reggae festival. It was pretty much the only coffee spot in the village so sometimes the line got a little ridiculous. That being said, it was worth the wait because their coffee and food was good. They had a vegan banana chocolate chip muffin available and some vegan avocado toast that was on really good whole grain bread. It was a little expensive for the size, but it was tasty and a nice way to start the day. I liked it more than the other vegan breakfast options in the area. The inside of the coffee shop was super cute too. I wanted to buy their coffee mugs because they had beautiful art, but I already have too many at home. There is plenty of seating indoor and outdoor with a fire-pit and places to sit and enjoy the sun. During a session it is nice to get a boost or a bite because it always comes out fast. Who doesn't love a coffeebar with a great Mountain View and a sunny deck? I have come here for coffees, but the happy hour keeps me post skiing. They have wine and beer for HH everyday. They don't market it so you have to ask. I think their wines are great. Caveat is they sometimes serve wine 7 days old without a proper stopper. I think they should be reconsidered, but their red Chianti does taste great. They have plenty of pastries and cookies to choose from, and they are nearly all delicious. I spent several hours here on Saturday and Sunday. I want to commend the entire staff for their patience, kindness, and lightness of spirit in dealing with each and every person who walked in. tldr; high prices, but excellent breakfast and ambiance. Service can be a little slow. Palisades (for those on the Ikon Pass) is a popular and well known destination for skiers and snowboarders, and I regularly frequent the resort in winter. On powder days, you want to get here early - which usually means skipping breakfast. This is where Coffeebar comes in. They regularly open at 7am during peak season. Don't expect anything cheap - it's ski resort prices after all - but it's an excellent place to chill and look out the window during a snowstorm. Located just behind the entrance to the village at palisades Tahoe (a hotel), they don't have any toilet facilities - most of these are outside - one located as you exit to the right, but my preferred one is to walk around to the left and use the ones in the hotel itself. They have an excellent selection of coffee - all carefully crafted and they often have seasonal favorites. I enjoy their chai creations in the morning. They also have some good pastries if you're looking for a quick bite. My personal preference for a powder day breakfast is either the grilled cheese sandwich (vegan, but you can optionally add chicken / bacon for $3) or if I'm feeling hungrier they do have a keto bowl that is excellent - it comes with avocado, sausage, bacon, sunflower seeds - an absolute taste bonanza. The only caveat is that they are often understaffed in the morning so you'll have to wait a bit to get your food, but if you're a true powderhound you'll have plenty of time in the morning to grab a bite. Just make sure to get in line at the ski lifts least an hour before they open! read more

Oofff guys this place could be so good but there's a few issues. The place is always filthy, literally boxes stacked up all over, food and crumbs everywhere. Dirty table tops. Just a filthy cafe. It's SO slow. I've been here a few times and each time it doesn't matter if it's packed or there's 5 people, the barista goes slower than any human has ever moved. I was in the mood for a breakfast sandwich, until I saw the prices! They were all around $12.00, so I decided to stick with the stale Rice Krispy treat in my car. I like me a nutritious breakfast! I did order a cup of coffee, which also seemed a little pricey at $3.99 for a 16oz cup. Well, I dug around in my pockets, picked out some lint, and found enough video game quarters to cover it. Sorry, Donkey Kong, you'll have to wait... Despite the high prices I had a good experience at this place. The coffee tasted good, it had a cool relaxed vibe, and they were playing some mello reggae over the sound system. Not to mention the awesome graphics on the cup! There was plenty of seating but it's a popular spot, so it fills up fast. I sat at a large table that people shared and I have to say they were pretty damn polite about it. Everyone asked if the seats were already taken before sitting down. When someone needed to borrow a chair from another table, they were eaqually as considerat by asking first. There's 2 main coffeeshops in the Squaw Valley ski village: Starbucks and Coffeebar. I like going to Starbucks if I have a gift card to use up. I like going to Coffeebar if I want more of a local coffee shop experience. Coffeebar has several locations in Reno where I live, it's a local favorite. This location is pretty pricey which is not surprising since they are located in a ski village. However, that does not make it any easier to pay almost $8 for an iced coffee drink (before tip). They have several snacks, pastries, and breakfast/lunch options for food. I love the variety of drinks they have on their menu. They have a lot of unique lattes and tea lattes to choose from. This time, I went with the Ube Latte and got it iced! The purple color is so pretty, made even better by the yummy vanilla + nutty flavor. It was very refreshing on a warm spring day. They have some cool ski decorations on the inside of this shop, plus they have an incredible patio where you can enjoy your coffee while overlooking the slopes! Despite the prices here, I'll still continue to come back for a solid cup of coffee on a ski day when wanting to support a local business. read more

The food was decent but when I paid $14 for avocado toast I was expecting to get 2 pieces. I've gotten avocado those 100 times, but this is the first time I've only gotten one piece of toast. I have always loved coffee bar and will rave about the other locations, but I had a very bad experience at this location and figured it was worth noting. After ordering my coffee I was waiting and noticed a barista eating behind the counter with her hands and found it odd but didn't think much of it. They same barista without even finishing chewing went back to making drinks and made my drink without washing her hands beforehand. I told the manager about it as that is not compliant with California food safety standards (don't come for me I have worked in food and service and have a food handlers card). I have very intense contamination ocd and when I told the manager she was not empathetic or kind at all, didn't even offer to remake the drink. I will probably not come back to this location but absolutely recommend the locations in Reno as they are where I normally go and the staff is always amazing. read more

This is a cute coffee shop with indoor and outside seating. Very busy on a Saturday morning so expect a wait. The workers kept it moving though. I ordered the lavender tea latte which was ok. The drink didn't taste like lavender. The taste was artificial but floral so it alludes to lavender. My small 8oz was just under $7 which is expensive by my standard. For the $16 price point, I anticipated a serving inclusive of two to three poached eggs, which is customary in many establishments. The coffee shop boasts unique beverage concepts and offers a variety of alt milk alternatives. However, they utilize Califia Farms oat milk, a choice I find less preferable compared to the Oatly brand.
