Nice collection of various hards. I was very impressed that they carried a bottle of my favorite Japanese gin. They also had some Japanese snacks which was unique and cool. They have a little bar at the front/left of the store which was cool but also a bit loud. read more

The customer service here is outstanding. Staff was knowledgable and helpful when it came to spirit recommendations. The small tap/tasting room attached is its most outstanding feature. 7-10 beers on tap from what I remember. A very cool spot to meet some new people and relax. On top of all that, the staff came through big time when I left my sunglasses there. I was in town for work and left them during a stop in Tahoe City. I was staying over an hour and a half away and leaving for the east coast the next day, so returning to the store to retrieve the glasses was not an option. I'm a Tahoe local and this is by far my favorite place to go for a drink in Tahoe City. There are more beers on tap than there are seats - the atmosphere is always super friendly, typically with a good mix of locals and tourists. The staff know their alcohol and you can also pick up a quality bottle of wine in the adjoining bottle shop. I love this place! read more

Coming up from LA for the weekend, you don't expect the bar scene in Tahoe to be the highlight of the trip. However, the warm welcome we received at Sips made the trip. These guys have some great beer in cans but they let it sit around for too long. Just bought a NEIPA there today (May 27th) and it was canned on February 25th. It's a giant malt bomb at this point. If you shop here check your dates, they'll sell you old shitty beer. read more

I love everything about this place except for the owner Lorne's service. Dude is super cool but scams the customers. Watched him charge a drunk dude w another patrons shots and then brag about it to the patrons after drunk dude left. Then he upcharges me on a bottle beer when other bartenders charge me $1.50 (when he's not there) less for same bottle. Then i walk in and he's telling me how everyone likes a beer and him and two other dudes are drinking it. I order it and he Gives me a 10ounce glass while others get a pint. I asked why.... says he'll be right back while he tends to someone just walking in (as if to avoid the conversation). Shady dude. read more

What a fantastic selection of rye and bourbon! The wine selection is nothing to sneeze at either. Very helpful and friendly service. This is THE place to go if you want some good booze in Tahoe. Aaron helped us find just the right thing. They also have taps and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to sit down and try a flight of taps beer at 11:30 AM.
