Yup, there are ducks in the duck pond
    Alex L.

I love this place and could never remember the name of the place until I returned the millionth time! haha. Laid back staff with tons of items on the menu for both food and drink. The shop sits right next to a duck pond and once in awhile you'll also see elk/deer roam around. I'd love to return some time soon just to see what else I can order from this menu. Such a great experience and very peaceful even being right next to the main road!

I love this coffee spot. After a hike in the park it's our go to. They have great flavor combinations and who can resist the outdoor space? There's plenty of places to sit outside and watch the ducks in the pond while you sip on your coffee.

line was out the door, but staff kept it moving FAST. Incredible views and great coffee. Food was perfect and didn't take long despite the 30+ people ahead of us and 30+ people behind. You can purchase food for kiddos to feed the ducks while you enjoy mountain and river views and wait for your food/drink. Really great spot!

Boozy coffee is magic on a cold day of vacation. I tried the Pumpkin Pucker, which was your typical pumpkin spice with Baileys Orish cream. Was $12.50, which is fair for a mixed drink. Beautiful scenic views and seating areas.

I think this place is lovely. First of all, you really can't beat the setting. There's a gorgeous stream with plenty of seating along the shore. The wildlife is very acclimated to human interaction, so be ready to make some new friends. The stuff I ordered was also very good. For food, we got some bacon egg bites. They were exactly what you'd expect out of coffee shop egg bites, which is not at all a bad thing. My drink was great, I got a watermelon cucumber and mint refresher (was looking for caffeine at that point in the day) and it was everything I hoped it'd be. I think it's a tough layout for dealing with a rush of customers, so we ended up with quite a wait, but everyone working there was very pleasant. Intestinal Impact Index Rating: 1/5 - had I gone with coffee this certainly would be higher, but safe choices were made today in preparation for a long drive home.

Service was great, got an Americano. It was a cute little pond with ducks you can feed. Stayed and watched and walked around by the Creekside. Beautiful area to have a coffee at.

We stopped here before a trip to Rocky Mountain NP and are glad we did. We came mid-week in September and it wasn't crowded. They have fun latte flavors and I got the cake batter? Or cake something one. It was sweet, but to be expected for the flavor I chose. My husband has a gluten allergy and had a question about the egg bites. The employee was unsure but grabbed the box for my husband to read the ingredient list. We took our coffees outside and the ducks and geese curiously checked us out and hung around. It was a fun extra with the geese and ducks and pretty mountain views.

Loved the atmosphere, beautiful views, we got to feed the ducks, the sandwiches and coffee were amazing! The staff were very friendly and kind!

Tried their chai tea latte for a post hike snack. Overall tasty but a little too much ice -so the flavors were not very bold

Most of the coffee shops in the area are about the same. This one has a unique feature that would make me visit again. For $1, you can get a scoop of kernals and you can feed the 50+ ducks that hang around outside the shop. What a fun experience to be surprised by. The latte flavors are fun and they have some liquor options to throw in your coffee if that's your jam. The food options are cheap and quick, as if someone went to the grocery store and toasted your bagel with home appliances. Fine for what it is, not overpriced I don't think. There was a long line the whole time and 2-3 people working but it seemed like they could churn out some drinks and food pretty quickly - we didn't have to wait too long. I would go back again!

Beautiful views! Absolutely worth the stop. You can buy a cup of corn for $1 to feed the ducks and geese. Drinks were amazing, had so many different flavors/combinations.

Absolutely gorgeous and a perfect remote working spot. They have Wi-Fi and great coffee right next to a pond with wildlife, what more could you want? The food is always subpar, so I highly suggest bringing your own food and getting drinks here. Everything I have tried food wise (3x) has been disappointing. Usually I'm pretty generous with coffee shops and food just because that's not their specialty, but this past time I got a very soggy sandwich that ended up being trashed and I vowed to never order food here again haha. There's a gift shop nearby, and the location is just unbeatable. Definitely recommend on your way into Estes Park!

Excellent staff and drinks. Loved feeding the ducks and sitting outside by the pond.

Are there vegan food options? Are there milk alternatives?

I'm not sure about the vegan options- they have quite a few baked goods in the store that rotate daily so it's worth calling and asking. Their regular menu is posted online, but most if not all have eggs (scrambles, burritos, etc). They do have milk… Read more

A decent chai tea latte and plenty of Diet Coke from the start for my companion. Our server was personable and offered great insights on the menu. I opted for her recommendation of the Hikers Benedict with grits as my side. I was skeptical so far from the South, but the grits were well done although I like to cook mine with salt but many restaurants do not. The Benedict was amazing with asparagus, cremini mushrooms and a perfect hollandaise sauce topped with delicious bacon. Excellent! My companion had the Wisconsin scramble with potatoes. The eggs had a variety of cheeses and he said they were very good. I imagine on weekends this place can be packed but on a late Thursday morning it was a decent crowd. I'm angling to go back tomorrow if it isn't too crowded!

Loaded potatoes is a must try here. We asked for the no bacon version and they gladly obliged. It was creamy, flavorful and absolutely delicious. Avocado toast with egg was good too. The highlight for us was the apple chicken and walnut croissant sandwich. It is one of the best I've had. The taste was consistent during our visits. Grilled chicken burger was pretty good too, the bread was fresh and burger was juicy. Parking: There is parking in the shared lot. We were on the waitlist for atleast 15min during each of our visits

The shop sits on Elkhorn Ave, kind of the Main Street of Estes. It has a front and back entrance, if you'd like to walk along the river to get there. There's a large public parking lot across the street as well. The barista made the cutest latte art for us! But it wasn't just appearance. The oat milk lattes were as delicious as they were beautiful! We tried some lattes at Inkwell yesterday, and Kind today. Kind was easily better, 10/10! It's a clean and cute shop. Good selection of coffee and breakfast and light lunch options. Also a small merch section - mugs, tees, coffee cups and canisters. We tried the salmon and cream cheese bagel with capers yesterday for lunch and they were great. My husband preferred the jalapeño cheddar bagel, while I was happy with the everything bagel. But the lattes were the real standout for me. The line was longest at lunch out of our visits, but it moved very quickly! The baristas were very welcoming and nice as well! Overall - Would definitely recommend!

All symptoms point to food poisoning. We will not be back. This was our first visit to You Need Pie. What we liked: Our waiter was really hospitable, friendly, and did his best to provide service in a timely way despite being the only server available for all the customers. The coffee was decent, though in a small mug, and so was the hot chocolate we orders for the kids (which came with whipped cream, much to their delight!). The decor on the walls felt kind of scanty but what is there was cute. There is a pretty wide pie selection. Food serving sizes were okay. The single person bathroom was clean. What we didn't like: *The $2 veg add-ins of onion and jalapeños to the $12 omelette were raw. *The corned beef hash was extremely basic and barely seasoned, the potatoes were well cooked but bland and pale. It was edible but not worth $15. *Our party ordered a $9 bread bowl soup and waffle fries as well; it was eaten but the cheese ingredient was really overpowering in flavor - the small size was a good thing, in this case, because otherwise it couldn't have been finished. *The batter on the chicken tenders in the kid's meal were almost burnt on the edges, but still pale everywhere else. Something off with the oil temperature I guess. They didn't get eaten. *The color of everything was pretty much all beige and served on white plates, which impacted the impression of the meal - zero visual appeal. One of my favorite parts of eating at mom-and-pop diners is the way the meals feel homey, warming you from the inside out. This did not create that kind of impression. Lastly, the pie (which was the main draw for us and why we picked this dining option). We ordered one slice of rhubarb at $6.25. The pie was very disappointing - something in it was either stale or had gone bad. It tasted really unpleasant and we ended up throwing it away. Our total for everything was about $80 with tip and it was sadly not money well spent. We love stand alone dining options but probably will not be returning.

We were greeted by a really nice blonde girl that showed us our seats. She was down to earth and was just beaming with great vibes. Then we got Matt. As if the experience wasn't already great from hanging out with friends, Matt invited us with an amount of aloha that is only found in Hawaii! We ordered chips and onion dip. The ramekin that the onion dip came with was really small compared to the amount of chips we received. It was delicious! Maybe substitute toasted bread next time? I ordered the poke and that was outstanding! It came with a creamy ginger dip that tied things together. For being landlocked and in the mountains, this is a dish I will remember! Matt also brought out a Hong Kong sriacha that definitely elevated everything.
