It's just one very modestly proportioned room, and they don't serve food (except nibbles). It's a station boozer, but a good one. There are three guest ales on offer, plus the usual assortment of lagers and other drinks. Most local patrons will be sitting at the bar, chatting with the elderly owner. Since I wasn't a local and the Scottish accents at the bar were wee heavy, I chose to sit at one of the small tables and observe the conversation. The owner is friendly and forthcoming, the beers are well maintained. The decor won't win Platform 3 any design awards, but everything that you'll need is there, including WCs - accessible *directly* from the bar room. It's just that small a pub.

The Bridge Inn overlooks the Union Canal, and we could watch the canal boats tie up outside our window for the night with boaters on their way to the pub. The pub on site is excellent-and we decided to have a nice dinner at the Inn, and it was wonderful! We ordered the steak dinner, and the chicken with leeks dinner-both perfectly prepared! Don't worry about being too full for dessert-they have a "mini dessert" menu with smaller portion sizes to try, we had the sticky toffee pudding-so good! Breakfast is provided in the dining room offering every option to tempt you from healthy oats and yogurt, to French toast with local made fruit compote (my favorite!). As our stay was right before the holidays, they had their Holiday Event Menu out for 2023 with special events for New Years and Breakfast with Santa for the little ones. The strawberry cheesecake was surprisingly light and good. I guess I might have guessed given the name of the cafe.
