The scallion at least was buttery inside, the blueberry scone was so dry and overcooked. The blueberry bread was also surprisingly tasteless and almost wet inside. Definitely Not what we expected from a professional bakery. Coffee meh but matcha reasonable. Egg sandwich was the family favorite and the savior of the bad breakfast.

But everything we tried off the original and specialty lists were great. They even made my nieces kids "coffee" in perfectly adorable tiny cups. I can't recommend enough. If there's a line, get in it. CL Is 10000% worth the wait!

They're absolutely delicious when still warm and fresh out of the oven and they bake them pretty much all day, so they're just about always fresh. One of my favorite ways to enjoy them over the years was to get the maple butter and blueberry jam and mix the two. The flavors of the butter, maple and blueberry all complimented the savory flavor of the popover. However, this year I was disappointed to see that they no longer are offering the maple butter, even for an upcharge. Please bring this back, it really took the popovers to another level! Maybe whip it into thawed butter instead of hand mixing it to make it easier? The whipped butter is easier to dip in and spread anyway. The new pre-packaged / mass produced butter packs take away from the appeal of a freshly-made popover. Sometimes in the morning it can be a little crowded in here with people waiting for their coffee / drinks to be made by a counter not far from where you place your order, so if you're walking in and haven't ordered yet then check if the people standing around are just waiting on coffee or waiting to order. It would be a nice improvement to see some separation (maybe with some ropes or floor markings) to make it more clear who is in line to order and who is waiting for their beverage to be made. It's worth noting it's takeout only and there's nowhere inside to sit, but there are some benches just outside on the sidewalk where you can have your popover and coffee.

The coffee was good, and both the biscuits and French toast were tasty. It was a good way to fuel up before spending the day exploring the park. The only downside was that the staff came across as a little off-putting during our visit. Maybe it was just an off day, so I wouldn't let that discourage you from checking them out. Overall, definitely worth a stop if you're in Bar Harbor and looking for a tasty breakfast before heading into Acadia!

For sure this is one of the best places in Bar Harbor to go if you are coffee addicted like me :) I was staying on Mount Dester Island for the summer at a research lab and was always looking for good quality drinks and food. I met two locals who recommended Coffee Hound Coffee Bar to me and they make a great lobster role! Owner Chris is a nice guy, you can easily stay at his shop for half an hour and chat with him. He has lots of funny stories to tell from all over the world! He really is into coffee and has great flavours! I really really recommend to go there! I get that we are in Bar Harbor or close to Bar Harbor and Bar Harbor is bougie. However, this place is like 20 mins from town....and the food and drinks aint even all that..so there is NO need at all to be charging what they do. Cool views across the street tho. So I bought a muffin and it was decent. Was it the best? Nope. I also got the banana/strawberry smoothie. It was expensive. I was really hoping for BANANA AND....STRAWBERRY!! since that is what it says on the menu. Could I taste any strawberries? Hell no! LOL! I swear they charge you $10 for a few bananas they blend up with like 2 tiny strawberries. They do have to have the pink color in there to make you think you are getting what you ordered....because why would you want what the menu says?? Crazy thought, huh? hahahah! The smoothie was gross. Yes, bananas are good for you, they are good in a shake, but just a shake that tastes like....all banana...nah, not for me. For me, thats gross. So just keep that in mind. I get it...we are at a coffee spot that's a quick stop before you go into the park and do a ton of walking for the day, hiking, walking along the beaches in the park. They also have specialty pies based on what they're growing that season. The staff is unbelievably friendly and love to talk about their experiences and giving recommendations for the area that you're visiting! The coffee was exactly what we needed to hype ourselves up for a long day of hiking.
