I've grown up in the area and I have yet to come here and I'm so glad I finally did! I ironically did not get coffee so if um keep scrolling if that's your jam. Food: The Works 5/5 This was such an impulse buy. The barista said that their pesto paninis are good (out of bagel sandwich options and panini options) but because I'm allergic this, he said, was the next best thing. You do have the option to get the sandwiches on bagels as well but I was feeling the original. I was honestly blown away. Panera Bread even in its heyday could never! I wish I could shoutout the homie who made this cause it was fire. It had such a nice to it lets just start off. The sandwich was lathered nicely with a chipotle aioli with the diced chicken. The avocado was a nice addition and there wasn't too much onion to be like onion breath vibes. I thought romaine lettuce as an interesting choice because it does wilt but it still had a nice crunch to it. SO anyway, if you get a sandwich here, I'd get this. This place is absolutely, outta this world amaze guys, seriously. It's locally-owned, and they have all the options I adore in milks, lol. Ya know the litany: the oat, hemp, soy, almond, cashew concoctions. Yes, all of them and as an added bonus they now have an obvi cute lil menu of sandwiches and soups, and the like. My default order here is a blended Matcha tea drink, with one of the non-diary milks mentioned above. Lol And the service reigns supreme: it's worthy of Kong Matcha is an art form. Totally is. When done well, it isn't burned or taste remotely similar to a heavy artificial sweetener. It's a delicate, premium tea, heavy on the antioxidants. And who doesn't love those? I worked here in 2008 and the best part about working there was the neighborhood feeling and loyal customers. But the owner wasn't great. The cleaning standards were subpar And food was meh. I quit not long after I started because of these reasons and the weird vibes. The new owners have really shaped it up. The selection of drinks is great. My lattes are always perfect temp and foam. its clean, comfortable and has a nice vibe. my kid and I spend a lot of time at the library across the way, and this is our second stop after getting our books. read more

Perfect neighborhood gem! I really like trying out new coffee shops and a friend who is a regular customer recommended this place. It's spacious and there's so much natural light! All around good vibes. All around win win - you can order food, coffee and get some work done (free wifi). The menu is on point with light bites, there's pastries available in the front with some other snacks and the coffee selection is pretty legit. There's indoor/outdoor seating along with hightop chairs at the window which is great for people watching. I've been here a few times but I'm super disappointed with the service today. Spent $20 plus tip for my chai that was not made with almond milk nor had two shots of espresso. Unfortunately I'm cannot have regular milk so I can't even drink it. Breakfast sandwich was good but takes 14 mins, so if you're in a hurry I would pass. Overall I would not come back, working 73 hours a week my coffee is super important and paying that much and getting an incorrect order sucks. read more

I walk or run by Coffee Fix seven days a week if not more, they are on my neighborhood walk route and along one of my out and back run routes. I always see people gathering here and sitting in and outside. Solo, working, with groups, couples, friends and the crowd always gives off the right type of energy. However, I've never stopped in. I'm a creature of habit and stick to my rotation of regular coffee shops- that was until I decided I wanted to try something new. I walked in to find a really inviting little shop. It made sense immediately why people congregate here. The barista called out a honey latte and I knew right in that moment, that's the exact the drink I'd be ordering. I did, with oat milk. It was scrumptious and kept me warm on my walk home. I also spotted a selection of cake monkey pastries which is always a good route to go. I almost ordered a croissant but skipped. Now that I've tried them, I can say it's a lovely spot to meet up with a friend or just sit with a book out front over a cup of joe if that type of thing is allowed right now. They are checking for vaccines if you want to dine in, which is protocol but I've never been a sit around in a coffee shop type person - I'm a get my espresso and get moving on the other million things I need to do type. What on earth is not to love about this true neighborhood gem? The coffee is always absolutely first rate, whether it's an espresso-based drink, the cold brew, or the regular house brew, which is always fresh and delicious. I don't know where they get their bagels, but I'm a New Yorker in my roots, and these are as good as you can find in LA, which all told is actually pretty darn good. The breakfast sammies with eggs, and the lox with cream cheese, are both fantastic. What I've had of their other pastries- croissants, cookies, scones, etc.-I would rate as a 10 out of 10. Finally, the fine staff is always friendly, dedicated, and helpful (I make sure to be a decent tipper and I hope you are, too!). It's a REAL neighborhood place, and not some corporate drone-station (no disrespect to Peet's, Philz, and the good folks who work at the other cafes around here). Haven't been here in years and decided to do some of my wfh day here. The place is small but there is seating inside and out front. The coffee was really good. I ended up getting a cliff bar with it (healthier option) and it cost $3.99. I would definitely come back but actually buy a pastry and not pay for an overpriced protein bar. This place was super busy, and quite small inside. I ordered a hazelnut latte that was pretty good--not too sweet. My cousin ordered a lavender latte and a lox bagel. She enjoyed her items as well. I like that they have a book exchange inside. Everything came out within a reasonable amount of time. There are both inside and outside tables available. There is only street parking, but it wasn't too bad at the time we went, which was around 930am. My only complaint is that the guy helping us with our order was a little bit snarky towards my cousin. I understand y'all are busy and maybe she was being a bit slow, but unwarranted attitude is not ok with me. This is a small coffee shop that serves great coffee and even better food. The staff are friendly and provides great service. There is street parking and a small lot in the back. And there are a few outdoor seating available. I actually like the fact that they have a concise menu with all the staple coffee drinks. I have ordered the iced vanilla latte and lavender latte here. Both of which are smooth and the taste of their coffee really came through. My favorite has to be the iced vanilla latte because it wasn't too sweet and I enjoy a simple latte. As for the food, I tried their chicken pesto and turkey wrap. I really like that the food is made to order so it's best to eat it fresh. The sandwiches are panini pressed so it's nice and crunchy on the outside. There are a lot of good options for breakfast food here and it is decently priced.
