I was SOOO hungry and I ordered door dash to my office-never heard of this place but I figured I'd give it a go. Being 75% Italian I of course have high expectations for any so called Italian cafe-and when I saw the logo of this place had the Italian flag I said to myself "this should be good!"....big mistake. I order two iced coffees-one with oat milk (which had 2 drops of oat milk in it) and another one extra sweet and it lacked sugar...very disappointing. I also ordered cannolis and these were NOT cannolis-they were wrapped in what resembled a crunchy dog treat, not a light pastry that a cannoli should be made of. The most disappointing part was my "banana and strawberry Nutella crepe" the presentation was below a 0-it looked like the inside of a new bones diaper (refer to picture). It was sloppy and filled with globs of Nutella and you can tell it was made with no effort. Not too mention it was extremely soggy. As a fellow Italian I would stay away from this so called Italian cafe. This order was also not cheap.....I'd like a refund. Coffee break? More like coffee broke. Have a good day. read more

The iced coffee is great and they use coffee iced cubes to maximize the beverage. The environment is great for doing work or studying. I was informed that most of the products sold are imported for Italy! Prices are affordable and definitely worth every dollar. They serve the food on cute, dainty dishes which makes you feel at home :) there are tables near outlets to charge electronics and comfy red seats as well to read. I learned that Antonio and Elisabetta are married. They are both native speakers of Italian and moved here just about a year ago. They opened Coffee Break two months ago and have been importing real Italian food and recipes, ever since. In addition, they can brew any type of coffee. Coffee Break is an adorable coffee shop located on Main Street in Hackensack. This spot is convenient for commuters going to the NJ Transit bus station or for those taking their lunch break at the court house. Parking is limited to metered parking down the street. After looking at their menu, I decided on their caramel iced coffee. The coffee was delicious, however, it was overpowered by the caramel syrup. Coffee Break does not use pumps for their syrups so the barista poured a good amount of syrup into my iced coffee. This is not a way to provide consistency to customers. Next time, I will definitely get a non-flavored drink. Although there was way too much syrup in my drink the coffee was very good. It was a smooth iced coffee and not bitter at all. I cannot wait to come back and try something else here. Coffee break also serves a variety of food including crepes. I cannot wait to come back and try their crepes. I give Coffee Break a 4/5 because I feel that an established coffee shop should have pumps for their syrups. However my overall experience was great and I cannot wait to return. read more

This was my first visit to the coffee shop. Coffee was excellent; fresh and nicely brewed. I had a berry muffin which was not edible as it had a taste of burnt plastic. I'm not sure how this place has good reviews. The one star is solely for the guy behind the counter who really tried his best but fell short. I should have known better than to get coffee from here for 3 reasons- 1. All the other reviews rave about the Nutellino, they're clearly going for the sugary drinks; 2. When I ordered a flat white the gentleman asked me what that was; 3- I settled for a cappuccino and he asked me small or large meaning I was probably going to get a mega cup of milk. Anyway, as expected the coffee was probably the worst I've ever had, the milk didn't froth properly so the guy used a spoon to find some foam and scoop it on top. Bottom line- if you want real coffee and not just sugary milk this is NOT the place to be. Thanks for the effort but effort is not what I'm paying for in a $5 a cup. read more
