7/18/16 My first time doing business with CC's…read more Arrived at the mall around 10:30 AM Monday morning, only one employee working but mall traffic was very light. Everything was sparkling clean and the young lady on duty was on the phone, obviously talking to a customer, but acknowledged me immediately. When she finished with her customer she formally greeted me with a very pleasant tone and delightful smile - very sweet young woman. All of the cupcakes had simple but lovely decoration. I told her what I needed and she quickly gathered up 18 cupcakes, 3 each of 6 differently flavors. There were 3 or 4 others flavors available that I didn't choose. Since it was close to lunch time I ordered a panini which she quickly put together. I was in and out pretty quickly and very pleased with the shopping experience. The cupcakes were for an early evening adult women's get-together. Everyone remarked how petty they were and seemed to enjoy the cupcakes. Almost everyone asked where I got them. I picked a cupcake with a little orange jelly on top of butter cream that was coated with what I think was crystallized sugar. The cupcake itself was great -very moist - but to my taste, the crystallized sugar was too much on top of the butter cream. I founded it too crunchy and too sweet. I just scraped off as much of the sugar as I could and it was fine - the butter cream was yummy. I will use CC's again.

The owner, who made sure to mention how in demand she is and filing up fast, sold her tasting delivery as "20 flavors." Now this concerned me. But my previous baker had a family emergency and I needed a cake vendor asap, I was willing to give it a shot. She delivered mini cupcakes topped with frosting that you get on cheap pure sugar kids cupcakes. My heart sank. Cupcakes are not cake. They don't bake the same. And these were clearly frozen and defrosted. And she told me that they would last a few days and still be good. She handed me a sheet of paper with the flavors listed and I brought them in. Well, I have never actually done this before but I did a real life spit take. I took a bite of the first one and spit it out so fast my fiance was shocked. Just to be fair, I nibbled on a chocolate one too. It was dry and gross as well. I gave up. But my fiance has a much high tolerance for bad sweets, and nibbled on several others. Most of the ones that had flavors like champagne and what not tasted the same as the other ones with other 'flavor' labels. The pricing was high for that quality. The place I ended up booking (C. Marie's Sweets) is the same price and is very good with real ingredients and meringue buttercream. Keep looking. The only reason I tried this place is because I accidentally hit "send my request to other vendors" or whatever that function is on Yelp and the vendor was super responsive.

She says no and that they're about to close (again this is 30 min before, and I've walked in before closing before and have never had an issue, no attitudes). I told her that's weird and she just told me to have a good night in the most snarkiest of ways. Idk who I spoke with, whether it was just a front girl, a manager, whoever... but that was just the rudest experience that I don't think I deserved given I was asking really nicely so I could just be in and out.
