They came and said some parts were needed and they'll come back to fix it. They came back and said it wasn't repairable. Called the office to ask what next and was told the damage was caused by wind therefore, is not covered by warranty. I asked how they knew it was a wind damage as this seems like an assumption and excuse to not fix the damage. The lady I spoke to, can't remember her name. Maybe Jennifer chuckled and said " well I don't know what else could have caused this damage. You're not supposed to have the blinds down because it can't withstand wind more than 25mph". Excuse me??? First of all, we weren't told this. We were told this was a weather resistant blind and how on earth am I supposed to have blinds and expected to keep it up at all times? What is the purpose of the blinds then??? I told her we only keep it down at night and she said, "well, that's when you get the most wind". When else am I supposed to keep the blinds down? During the day when we're sitting in the patio? Or keep it up when it's raining and storming??? These are the times we need the blinds to protect our outdoor furniture and electronics! She did not seem to care at all and said all she could do was give me a quote for a brand new install! Haven't heard back from them since then and they never refunded my $250 either! Very terrible and deceptive company. I'll stay FAR AWAY!!!!

I have both shutters and electronic blinds - all from Classic Homes Dallas. One of my electronic blinds stopped working back in August. I was still within my warranty period so reached out to the company to get my shade repaired. I have been mostly speaking with Jennifer. Over the past 3 months, I have heard every excuse to why my repair is taking so long, ie: we changed our systems, cannot find your original order, the company we used for these shades went out of business, the staff in our office quit (yet again - I think like twice now), we cannot find a motor, we are looking for a separate remote, and the latest, we found a motor and cannot seem to locate the hardware! Every excuse made it seem like it was MY FAULT! And when I asked to speak with the owner, Rick, well, he seems to be on vacation quite often. It took less time to get these ordered and installed the first time than to get 1 simple motor replaced. At this point (after 3 months), a new motor should have been ordered and installed - that would have been the right thing to do since it is under warranty. Not offer to give me a pieced together model that may not hold up! Needless to say, my patience has worn out and on top of it, I have a shade that has been hanging down for 3 months - unable to roll up or roll down!! Not great when it is the back of your house in the hot summer when the sun is going down! Every week that I have spoken with Jennifer, there is a new excuse! And at the end of it all, I still have a broken shade that is under warranty. I am just starting the review/complaint process here and will be making a more formal complaint against this company since I am losing all hope that anything will be done. Just thought I would share my experience for those that are shopping for shades! Product looks great, but you better hope something does not go wrong! So if we were out and about and all of the sudden rain hit or high winds picked up, the sensor will automatically retract the awning to prevent any damage. The smart mechanism, anemometer type wind sensor or front bar motion sensor made it so that the retractable awning will automatically be retracted if the sensor records a speed above the threshold you have set. Generally, it is recommend that the threshold be anywhere between 15 - 20 mph, for folding lateral arm awnings and 30 - 35mph for retractable patio / deck pergolas, but you can always change this in the future based on local wind conditions of your area. Water-resistant means the awning is able to resist the penetration of water to some degree but not entirely. Waterproof means it is impervious to water. It was a very nice upgrade for the new home buyers. Staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the new addition to our backyard.

They took the liberty to access our property without us being home and without permission to install the awning. I would not recommend this company. They are also unreachable and do not have higher management to talk to and address concerns. We paid the final balance in full and they did noting to rectify the problems we addressed with them.

I got quotes from six companies, and while Blinds Brothers was not the cheapest, they had the best quality product. Their shades have fiber glass and can withstand winds nearly twice the speed of other shades offered by their competition. (I have neighbors with inferior shades that they have to raise constantly during storms so they they aren't ruined) Additionally, my outdoor patio set up was tricky as one edge where a railing would have to go was rounded. Most companies were struggling with how to make it work and a few said they couldn't do it. Blind Brothers knew how to make it work, and I chalk that up to experience and expertise. Best quality shades and great company overall.
