Took our money. Didn't complete job. Left me with a hole in my yard and a damaged sprinkler system. Won't respond to my texts. Subcontractors texted me and said that he hadn't paid them. Mike Riley was paid over $8,000 to repair a Pergala in Plano. Two unskilled guys showed up to do the work and didn't know what they are doing. They drilled holes in the plastic which caused the plastic to crack and the plastic was poor grade. It leaked immediately. Poor workmanship. Also skipped several bolts in the bracing. Many broken promises over 6 months. He stated he would fix it but needed money for material. So I paid him an extra $640 for materials and he still never fixed it. He text a few weeks later and said he would finally fix the Pergala but he needs $120 get get his truck repaired and out of the shop. He will say anything to get money. Then he has hundreds of excuses for not being able to complete the work. I finally paid $5,000 to another company to fix Mike Riley's mess. Any good reviews are years old. Hate writing this review because Mike is a good guy. Just a few too many things went wrong. I'll contribute it to his subcontractors who took a few shortcuts that have appeared later. First, we had a few problems spring up with the sprinkler system. One of the heads broke in back and few of the sprinkler heads were pointing the wrong way. For example, one was hitting the fence, a big no no since this can leave a big sprinkler mark over time. Mike was responsive though I decided to pay another company to come out to fix any issues they found. They found a few more. Second, and most disappointing, was not enough soil was used on the front landscaping. Several plants have died but I was able to save the rest by putting in some more soil myself. However I'll need to get more soil because the plants still need it. The soil was noticeably low to begin with, not rising to the level of the sidewalk. Maybe if Mike is more careful with the fellas he hires. Finding good subcontractors is tough! I know, been through it myself. Though you pay good money to someone in hopes they've done the research. I'm confident Mike is the kind of guy that can correct this in the future. read more

Mike is fantastic at getting the job done. He has lots of creative idea's that will totally get you in the mood to re-do your home's landscaping. His workers are respectful with your home and keep things pretty neat for working in dirt! He can draw you a plan and work one section at time or get busy on the whole place, it's up to you. Sod, no problem... Tree's no problem, Stonework and flower beds, no problem! New Fence, you bet! Need a new garage... he's got a friend who can do that and he can spiffy it up with new flowers! Whatever you want, he can do it... I wanted to tear out that concrete driveway and put in decomposed granite, no problem. Unlike those who leave people and never get the job done, he keeps tabs on what's going on and regularly visit the worksite for progress checks. He's quickly available by phone and ready to deal with changes you may decide you want last minute... I know I know, who changes their minds? We do... In just a few days I went from weeds, one tree and a busted up driveway to three tree's, all fresh sod and a stone lined, decomposed granite driveway. Pretty damn amazing really... so much so that all my snoopy neighbors made excuses to come down and watch the progress. As soon as they were about finished, their coming by to compliments the work and ask for his card... Did I mention that I kept adding to the project... it still finished on time. Did I mention I have more work planned? You bet I do... Go on, call... you know you want to freshen up your home! I bought my first home and was so excited, with the exception of my front yard. The house had been remodeled but the landscaping in my front yard was very basic and boring. Mike Riley had been referred to me by several friends, and I loved the work he did for them. So, I gave him a call, discussed my ideas and vision with him. He brought over the plans he had drawn up for the project, and I must say, I absolutely loved his creative design. His vision far outweighed what I could envision for my home. His team is very professional, but most importantly, I just can't say enough about Mike's professionalism and his knowledge of landscape architecture. I spent $1500 at Covington's, and now I have the "bones" for my front bed which Mike did not provide. I have 2 landscape light that are no longer working. Covington's told me they weren't upgraded to LED (I had paid Mike $1500 to upgrade landscape lights), and told me that the 5 Encore azaleas he planted in the full west sun would not make it and needed to be transplanted (I had already transplanted 3 shade plants- Japanese Aralias- he put in west sun)They also told me an existing small tree is an Aristocrat pear, though Mike told me is was a "Teddy Bear" tree. Now I know what a Teddy Bear Magnolia is, and that tree isn't one for sure. Mike talks a good game, but he took off with most of my money. He's a scammer. He immediately understood the aesthetic I wanted, and helped me pick plants that would achieve the look I wanted, but would grow well in zone 8 and keep my budget in check. Mike and his team was able to help last week as I was closing on a home and had to have sod laid in a short amount of time on short notice. He was able to work me into the schedule, and the sod was done the next day! His team also cleaned up after themselves, and cleaned up all the leaves, etc in the area. I also had them take some bushes out of our front yard, and they did a great job. I hired Mike a few months ago to handle a drainage issue at my lake house. I needed a complete french drain system, a small retaining wall removed and a large tree removed as well. Mike's bid came in far less than another bid I obtained and he completed the job as planned. I was very happy with his helpers (who dug all off the drains by hand!) and very satisfied with the end result. In fact, I added a couple of other projects to his list while he was on-site and all of them were done as promised. I recommend him highly and will be using him again!!! read more

Mike came in real landscaped our yard and laid our grass. Then tire time Mike's crew was extremely professional and courteous and They cleaned up at the end of every day. I have gone through a lot of landscapers throughout the years but I have a feeling with these results I will be using them again. My wife is very unhappy with product we recieved for the amount of money paid. Had several plants die shortly after they were installed it took several weeks to get him back out and then he replaced plants with a couple flowers only because he was next door working on our neighbors landscape and my wife caught him in person then he said he didn't remember saying he was going to replace grassy looking plants that had died plus rosemary plant that had died, which still have not been replaced ! Mike and his crew are awesome. I randomly googled Dallas landscapers after some disappointing recommendations from friends, and his company came up. I called and he was at our house the next morning to chat, had sketches that afternoon, and he started our project the following day. He is a stickler for quality but his prices are the most competitive I saw. He does way more than flowers though. After he completed our now-gorgeous front yard (you should see the stone work!), he took on our backyard and built us a new garage and patio. His company is a one-stop shop for all things home-related... couldn't recommend him enough.
