Decided to take Thanksgiving cooking duties off this year and ordered the Thanksgiving meal for 6. So glad we did!! The food was excellent! Pick up was organized and efficient. You didn't even have to get out of your car!! The turkey was flavorful and juicy. The ham was perfectly seasoned and moist. Mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing green bean casserole, candied yams, cranberry sauce, apple sauce and rolls!!! It all came with easy prep instructions to have the meal ready at the same time so it takes all the stress and guesswork out. I may have to take next Thanksgiving off, too! read more

Food truck review (the 'Cookshack'): Their ribs caught my eye on someone else's table at the Bite of Bend. I've been looking for decent BBQ in Bend - maybe this was it. Or maybe not. I decided on their tri-tip plate instead of ribs, with sides of cole slaw and potato mac. Yikes. Worst BBQ ever. To clarify, it doesn't even qualify as BBQ in my mind. No smokiness to the meat at all and I could have used some BBQ sauce to combat the dryness. None was provided. But my low rating mainly derives from the quality of the cuts of beef. Of the pile of tips on the plate, I'd estimate about three quarters were grisly, overcooked and inedible. Tri-tip should be melt in your mouth tender, and moist. I threw away more tri-tip than I ate. Perhaps I should have gone for the ribs after all. Cole slaw and the potato mac were OK. The plate also included a salsa fresca - I'd call it a pico de gallo but it had no hint of picante and wasn't very tasty. Service was a bit shaky at the truck, although quite friendly. The ordering -waiting-delivery setup was inefficient. Perhaps they do better with their catering business. Still looking for good BBQ in Bend. read more

We celebrated a 70th birthday with 50 people, Cody's catered their tri tip and chicken. It was terrible. The tri tip was tough and dry, the chicken was tasteless and cold and the supposed fantastic garlic green beans were straight out of a can. The garlic bread arrived uncooked. So embarrassed to serve my guests. I saw full plates of food being thrown away. I emailed Cody's to let them know this and they've not even acknowledged my correspondence, so Yelp review it is. Very dishonest business in my opinion. We paid Cody's $500 for a wedding deposit before the Covid pandemic, and after we were forced to cancel our wedding (due to Covid of course) we were told that the deposit could not be refunded and could only be used towards a "wedding event" even though we very much wanted to schedule a banquet or something similar instead. I've lived in Bend all my life and predatory local businesses like this (in my opinion) are why the middle class is dying. $500 is worth more to Cody than doing the right thing. Who knows what kind of corners are cut on the food. read more

I just wanted to give a shout out to this company! Normally they have a 250 non-refundable deposit. My sons wedding barely happened, and did not look the same as when we started. Originally we pared the list to 35, and then further mandates required no gathering at all. I was refunded all my money. I didn't get to taste your food but your business ethics have great taste. Cody's country catering saved my bacon this thanksgiving when both my kids came down with a cold a few days before the big day. With all that's going on we didn't feel comfortable going to the family turkey celebration. After some quick googling we found CCC and ordered a full thanksgiving dinner for 4. This looked like the only option in town and so expectations were low. Cody's blew us away with the convenience and deliciousness of not cooking my own thanksgiving dinner. Best food truck around. Great sandwiches and amazing staff. I am a sucker for the pulled pork but the Tri-strami and the Cuban are awesome. So far I haven't had a bad thing there yet. Cody and team, and A+ food and service. This is according to more of the 200+ guests at our wedding than I knew cared about the food. Same outspoken praise from the handful who are in the food industry and from one executive chef of a downtown Portland spot from North Carolina, who said he was blown away by the Carolina pulled pork. We asked Cody if he could cook and serve what we had in mind. He said, yes, gave us a taste test a couple weeks later, adapted to the feedback, then served a delicious and welcoming spread. We used Cody's catering for our son's rehearsal dinner in Camp Sherman. From beginning to end he was so easy to work with. He had a tasting for us which was delicious and one of our favorite planning meetings. While Cody's BBQ is some of the best we have ever had it was how he reacted to a huge mistake ( probably our mistake) which makes us know that he is incredible! Our dinner was in Camp Sherman ( 40 minutes from Bend) on a Friday night. At about 5:00pm my husband and I started to wonder where he was, long story short he had it for the next day. He dropped everything ( had everything already prepared) heated the food and drove it there and was set upped and serving by 7:45. Our guests had no idea and Cody single handily served 106 people without letting on how difficult the past two hours were. It was epic and delicious! You can definitely count on Cody! read more
