Cody pools just finished our pool in time for summer! We couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Ryan Curbow did a fantastic job keeping everything on schedule and any issues we're very quickly resolved. Highly recommend using them! read more

Earlier in 2019, we purchased a house that had a recently built Cody pool with another 10 months of warranty left. Soon thereafter we had several issues with various pieces of equipment. When we called the warranty department they told me that the warranty was voided when the house had been sold to us! The previous owners had not told us that and we were very surprised. That swimming pool cost around $200K and that of course influenced the price of the house. Be aware of this if you are going to purchase a home with a recent Cody pool. read more

Not good at all. I recently bought a house a couple years old that has a pool built by Cody and it's falling apart and deteriorating into the pool itself! I called Cody and they said the warranty is no good and they will not help us. Plain and simple. Now I have to find a reputable pool builder who will do their dirty work and I have to pay for the entire repair because Cody installs pools with inferior product and workmanship. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this company they're simply no good. read more

I cannot talk about how this particular pool will turn out but it's being built next door to my son and daughter in law. The next door neighbors had to sign a waiver with Cody Pools saying that if Cody messed up anything on their neighbor's property, that Cody wasn't liable. So, that has been an open door for the Cody workers to break the water line to my son's sprinkler system, break the rain gauge that alerts the sprinkler to not water, ruin the flower bed that is close to the neighbor's property, and damage their fence. The neighbor is trying to fix the sprinkler system himself because the irrigation companies that they've called can't get there until the middle of September. No luck so far in fixing it, and the lawn, the trees, and the landscaping are all looking very sick and brown in this August heat. So, if you're planning to use this company just be aware that once you sign the waiver, absolving them of any damage to your neighbors, they have absolutely no reason to be careful. And, hope that you're really good friends with your neighbors as well, and that they're very understanding. read more

I am so pleased with the way our pool turned out. From start to finish, we were happy every step of the way! Our designer, Karl did exactly what I envisioned and was very accommodating to me changing features as I needed. Our construction supervisor, Logan Fletcher was great! He was here through each step of the way and always answered my questions right away. We had to change our tile at the very last minute while I was out of the country and Logan jumped right in and even went to the showroom to make sure I ended up with exactly what I wanted. I'm am absolutely in love with our pool and I was pleasantly surprised to see it completed in 6 weeks and 1 day!! I would highly recommend working with Karl out of the Bee Cave office and Logan Fletcher if you want your pool done right! read more

As you can see by the 2 star rating Cody Pools currently has, this company is bad news. If you are looking to buy a house with a Cody Pool, I would advise against it. Cody hides behind their "legal" warranty which is only for the original owner. We bought a house with a 2 year old pool, and after 4 months were losing an inch of water per day. Contacting Cody they remind you of their "legal" warranty and they have no obligation to help you. They let you know you can contact pool leak detection companies but they offer zero assistance. The lights in our pool are also out, bulbs costing $300 each online. 10/10 would not recommend this company to anyone and hopefully this helps someone down the road save some money. read more

Dealt with a guy Steel Smith who asked us to get financing (we are paying cash) and give him a survey prior to even meeting with us. He insulted me because I am an attorney. Thought his time was much more important than ours and then said in writing "you are not our only customer, even if you are an attorney." Said he would get "his girls" to remove my name from his list. I would pay much more to get a pool elsewhere. read more

Slick sales operation, but don't pay them until they actually complete all the contracted work! The quality seems ok (we've only had the pool for 4 months so far) but, as other reviewers said, they subcontract everything and when subcontractors mess up (e.g. splashing the whole side of our house with concrete) Cody doesn't take responsibility. After our pool was complete we had "pool school" -- pretty useless. You get a user manual with a $10 oven thermometer, you'd think they would give you a user manual with an $80k pool, but they don't. Write down everything the people at pool school tell you, otherwise you are redirected to YouTube videos. My biggest gripe is that they still, 4 months after the last check cleared, haven't installed the autofill we contracted and paid for, despite multiple phone calls, emails and letters. Forget cleaning the concrete off the side of the house, I scrubbed it off myself. Too bad it was in the contract and paid for. Oh and one more thing. We were dissuaded from a salt water pool setup and talked into a UV-sanitizer. Apparently these devices don't last beyond a few years and you don't actually use any less chlorine, so it's a waste of money. Buyer beware. read more

MY pool was paid for in June of LAST year. More than 13 months later we have: 1. Pool lights not in sync. 2. Fire Pits that have JUST been fixed (out of service for 10 months) but can't get the rock/waterfall people back out to finish the repair. 3. Plugged overflow since beginning. 4. Automatic cleaning system that is NOT 100% effective. 5. Inadequate pool pumps for the pool size/cleaning system. All the problems since the beginning have been exhausting. Tiles that had to be replaced, pool depth improper, too few cleaning heads, waterfall pumps that were underpowered leading to a total re-plumbing of the pool. This was a band aid to fix the underpowered pool pumps. I have been in contact with Cody pools over 60 times. Scott in San Antonio, Fred the contractor, David in Warranty in Austin.. it goes on. This company is in trouble. Very poor communication with pool owners, warranty department personnel turnover, employees that would rather pass the buck than repair the problems and a huge lack of effective leadership/ownership. $90k pool, 0% satisfaction. Ugh! Poor communication, poor oversight of subs, a less-than-honest owner, construction errors (for which they tried to blame me!), and a means-nothing "Swim in 30 days Guarantee." It took Cody nearly 70 days to finish the job, due to several do-overs caused by poor workmanship, poor workforce scheduling, and having more pool starts then they had the workforce (supervision and craftsmen) to undertake in a timely manner. From the initial screwup of the pool location to having to bring heavy equipment back in, tearing out the Gunite, and digging out the pool outline we had agreed to/contracted for, the process and experience were a semi-nightmare. A prime example of what we endured doing our pool construction was our having to had the pool plastering done THREE times before finally getting the job done correctly. On that last plastering job, I hwas forced to deal directly with the owner of the Houston-based plastering company to ensure the job was finally done right. The Cody Pool owner had washed his hands with it, telling me I was being "too picky" - that the wavy and rough plaster finish was acceptable - and that he wasn't going to have the pool plastering redone. The plaster company owner thought differently after driving over from Houston to look at the job. He agreed the plaster application had not been done correctly and offered to redo it, but recommended a different material to prevent the staining we were already experiencing from the plethora of flowering bushes and trees in our, and neighboring yards. The plaster company owner offered to cover two-thirds of the additional cost incurred by using the different materials. I called the Cody owner and, after much discussion, he agreed to cover the remaining third of the additional cost as compensation for all the delays and headaches we had endured. However, after the work was satisfactorily done, the plaster company owner called and told me that the Cody owner had refused to cover the cost as we had agreed, and that he (the plaster company owner) would have to get the money from me. I immediately called the Cody owner and he said he had never agreed he would pay. I reminded him of the exact time and place he had agreed to pay, but he continued to insist he had never said that. That was a flatout lie. Unfortunately, I didn't have anything in documented to prove otherwise, so had no choice but to pay the additional costs. Needless to say, the Cody owner's lying - on the heels of his wanting me to accept poor workmanship AND having endured one headache after another during the pool construction - left me with having zero trust in him and his company. Since the pool was built, we've had to make more than $4K in post-warranty repairs, many of which, according to the repair techs, were due to equipment damage caused by poor siting and layout of the plumbing/equipment pad. My pool service guy says he has customers who own Cody-built pools and most of them have/have had construction/quality issues. Hopefully, things have changed since our pool was built. What a headache.... read more

My wife and I made a decision to go with the "big" company to build our pool after considering all the benefits of doing so. Unfortunately, Cody has been a HUGE disappointment. Constant mistakes and errors and inattentiveness have led us to believe that the "big" company has small ambitions to actually provide above and beyond customer service. You'd think that it would be different being such a large company, but I honestly say that our perception is that they care very little about your pool. At the end of the day, they hide behind disclaimers rather than honest accountability. Nobody ever seems to own up to their mistakes and there's lots and lots of blame shifting. I would discourage anyone if they were considering a Cody Pool. It's better to use the small companies that actually value providing good service bc their business depends on it. I was sold something that ended up being very, very different. If you decide to use Cody, be prepared to be very disappointed. read more

I decided to write a review because nobody from Cody ever asked. I assume that since they didn't ask, they really don't care. Overall, we are happy with our pool. Mike our designer developed exactly what we wanted. He was easy to work with and made revisions to the design quickly and easily. Our pool was a fairly "basic" pool, and this is actually our second pool so we knew what to expect. My complaints are related to the construction management process. It is important to note that where we live there is absolutely no rock - not even a pebble, so excavation was as simple as it could be. We also had a fairly large lot, the only challenge was that there was only 8 feet between us and our neighbors house. So - now my issue (and keep in mind this is not my first pool). They really-really wrecked my yard and much more than they needed too. When we built our last pool, the builder was careful to tightly contain the excavation material and trash. This time, Cody really-really spread out and left the trash and debris from all phases of construction on site until the very last week. The place looked like a wreck. We had to re-sod an excessive area that just kept getting bigger and bigger. When they did the final "clean up" they spread a lot of the leftover debris and trash and lightly covered it with topsoil. Keep in mind that our soil that was excavated didn't have a single rock. But Cody dropped and left a ton of gravel, broken rocks, cement, etc. There was also string, bottles, rebar, 2x4s - you name it. they just spread it and then tried to hide it with a little dirt. Then it rained - and uncovered all the trash they left. And since they didn't - I went around raking and picking up debris they left. And finally, our project had retaining walls. Instead of backfilling them from the bottom up; they scraped some rocks across the top and then topped with dirt. What does this mean. Well - the first rain washed it out and now I have huge holes that I have to backfill each time it rains. I'm sure someday it will eventually fill in. Throughout the project we asked many-many-many times when they would haul off the trash-debris - this was always pushed off. I reminded our supervisor a few times about the backfill issue and that the crew had left large holes along the retaining walls. What did they do about it - nothing. Keep in mind that this is not my first pool, so I know that the place should get wrecked; but normally the contractors clean up their mess as they go. And you shouldn't just spread debris and trash and try and hide it under less than an inch of dirt. Here's my suggestion - I think Cody does a reasonable job. Have them put up a construction fence the very first day and make sure and contain their work area. In our case, I think the problem was that they didn't have a construction-silt fence up until the City demanded it and this was after excavation. This allowed them to really-really spread out and take over much more of the yard than necessary. Next, demand (and don't take excuses) that they remove the debris after EACH step in the process. If you don't do this you will end up with huge piles of trash and debris in your yard for weeks (or months in our case) and in the end they may just leave a lot of it buried in your yard. Overall we are happy with the pool and we will eventually get our yard put back together; even if I still find the occasional rock, rebar, etc popping up in the yard. Plus I've purchased about 20 bags of dirt that I've used to backfill the retaining walls myself. read more

I decided to go with Cody Pools because they really sold me on quality over quantity. 3 years in I have had nothing but problems with all of my pool equipment. It is like pulling teeth to get them to honor warranty work and none of it has ever been fixed properly. Pretty sure they are putting a band-aid on the problems until warranty runs out and they can wash their hands of it. My neighbors went with a different pool company, got a lot more pool for their money and have experienced very few issues (built at the exact same time as mine). I feel like I was totally scammed by Cody Pools. I echo what others have posted about the horrible mess they made of my yard. All my neighbors commented on how much more of a mess it was than need be. read more

Wow, what a concept....Treated with respect, and honest pricing. (Anyone who read my review of a competitor will know why I am commenting on this topic!) Anyhow....we have a very sloped and smallish backyard in suburbia. I didn't think it would be possible to drop a pool in with so many restrictions. I was wrong. Sam was an excellent sales and award winning pool designer. I was also so happy to have worked with the construction supervisor, Tom. Tom was a calm, "no big deal" type of guy to work with. I appreciated his no-panic demeanor. It instilled confidence in us. We were so sick of seeing all these either dated kidney shaped and cement type pools, or what will likely be dated soon rocky, curvy, predictable for this area pools. Cody worked with us to design a pool with simple, clean, modern lines that fit our personality - not the same old, same old. They also had to get very creative with buidling in a retaining wall since our yard is so sloped. Pools are expensive - don't fall for a low estimate with no guarantee that it won't be higher. Cody has a not to exceed - all inclusive price. They also have a 30 day deal, and ours was built in 28 days from start to finish. That's just amazing. We didn't have enough cash to do landscaping with them, but we got what we wanted and what they do best. The only thing remotely negative I have to say about the experience has nothing to do with the company, but if you live in Bee Cave, be prepared to have to go back and forth with the city code enforcement people who seem to be over zealous when it comes to nit picky little things that keep them coming out to your yard. The good thing is Cody deals with it all, not the home owner. read more

Never ever ever buy from Cody Pools. Save the headache. John and sales were awesome. The start up guy did not even make sense. Thank goodness for Tom and Rubber Ducky pool services and their pool school! I had no idea what I was doing but Tom saved the experience of owing a pool that Cody had ruined for me and my family. The first supervisor left Cody pools and no one called me for three weeks. Finally I got another supervisor and the communication issues continued. Major issues with coping, the slide, drainage, and startup. Go with another company! read more

Cody Pools is a First Class Design, Construction and Service company: Frank our talented designer and Tom, a nonpareil construction supervisor, built us a fabulous pool with equipment that runs very well. As with any construction job of this magnitude, there were some minor issues that came up; However Tom and company went beyond the basics to make sure that they were quickly fixed and that we were satisfied. Cody's service department is very courteous responsive and knowledgeable. If you want to design and build a pool in the greater Austin area there is no other choice in the same league. read more

I really didn't want to give Cody 1 Star, but Yelp won't allow negative stars. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company! We entered into a contract with Cody Pools to build our pool in March 2007. We were building a house at the time, so Cody Pools made the choice to wait to begin construction for a few months for access purposes. When it was time for them to begin building the pool, the president and owner of the company informed us that they were not going to build the pool afterall citing that it would cost $16, 000 more than the contracted price to build the pool and that they would build it if we paid that extra amount. When we reminded him that we had a signed contract, he and his attorney came up with a multitude of excuses as to why we did not have a valid contract. However, the bottom line is that the salesman for Cody Pools did not bid the pool properly and the owner of Cody Pools was not going to take responsibility for his employee's mistake. We tried to get this company to perform on the contract by making complaints with the BBB and also hiring an attorney. They refused to perform on the contract, so we sued Cody Pools for breach of contract and deceptive trade practices and had to go to binding arbitration (per the contract). The arbitrator found Cody Pools to be quilty of breach of contract, so Cody Pools had to pay for the difference in the pool cost that we had to pay by using another pool contractor AND they had to pay attorney fees and arbitration costs. It is interesting that their $16, 000 missed bid mistake ending up costing them tens of thousands of dollars all because they refused to do the right thing in the first place. It took almost 2 years to settle this case. Warning to consumers who are considering Cody Pools to build your pool in Austin or surrounding areas...be very careful when dealing with this company. Read the contract carefully, make sure that the President of the company signs the back of the contract and read about the perils of 'binding arbitration' on the National Association of Consumer Advocacy website before you sign a contract that has a binding arbitration clause. read more

Cody Pools did a great job on our pool and we're very happy with the results. We bought a home in 2016 that had a one year old existing Cody Pool. I called Cody Pool's office to check on our warranty on this new pool. I was told the warranty was void because I was not the original owner. That seems odd. However, I decided to add a spa to my pool. I called Cody, and they sent out a designer to get our input and give us a general idea of cost. The designer sent out an installer to draw out the path for the gas line. That was the last we heard. I called the designer a month later. He told me the cost was pretty much double what he had estimated. I asked him if he had a plan to show us. He did not. He said he would get back to us. Two months later and no call. This shows a cavalier attitude towards the customer. read more

Do yourself a huge favor and shop around. This review coming from someone who built a Cody Pool in 2007. I loved it, my designer was great and the price was reasonable. Oh how things have changed. My small fairly standard free form pool with small water feature, average decking, LED light with cool decking... was bid at 44K... turns out 6K higher and 7K higher than similar bids from 2 other reputable builders that build many pools in Austin. This still didn't scare me from Cody... I figured I would still be able to work something out with them but my designer/sales guy, who says he's been with Cody the longest, wasn't interested. He offered up very litte... even though he had items in the bid I necessarily didnt care for... like a variable speed pump or UV water cleaner. Here was the kicker... when I realized Cody probably wasn't the builder for me, and I expressed this my disapointment in price and flexibility... Like with my last build... I was told I was given maybe too low of a price (at 33K thank you very much!) and that there was a reason my last designer wasn't with the company anymore! This was shady. First nail in the coffin. Lastly, I called the main office on Parmer Ln and asked for the owner's email (Mr. Church), who I had met on my last build, to make sure he knew what was going on... AND I was told by the receptionist that they weren't allowed to give his email out but she would be happy to forward an email to him. Not very open door. Last nail. My other 2 bids were great. I had follow up calls and was treated with respect and there was a sense of wanting to gain my business. I say again... there was a sense of wanting to gain my business... Not by Cody. I am chosen another builder who gave me most things I wanted in my pool... for 7K cheaper. Do yourself a HUGE favor and get other bids. read more

My family had been trying to build a pool for a couple of years. We had a budget for the pool and struggled to get it to the number we wanted. After getting bids Cody Pools was $5k higher than the other builders we considered but we ultimately decided to use Cody because of their company size, history, warranties and perceived value. The start of our build went fast. It was ahead of schedule and we were optimistic. Our major complaint however started because of the damage done to our sprinkler system. I asked specifically at the start of the project if I needed to have a irrigation crew cap our system. I was told no. I was told no one ever does that and it's unnecessary. Because we didn't have our system capped we had to buy manual sprinklers to keep the grass alive in the front (irritating but manageable). We had 3 irrigation companies come out to give us bids after the construction was completed and they all asked me why didn't we cap our system before construction started. Two companies specifically said Cody pools is the worst about tearing up yards. "They totally destroy your site", is what they said. Knowing now they have that reputation, I would have taken the time and spent the money on the front end to prepare for the damage. Since we didn't cap the system landscapers had no idea where the heads were because there was so much air in the lines that there wasn't enough pressure to raise the heads. So, the front system was basically destroyed. Not only did I need to redo a large the front sprinklers, part of my neighbors sprinklers but I had to cap all the lines unnecessarily because they put the pool equipment over main lines that connected the front zones with the back. It became cheaper to install a whole new system than trying to salvage the lines that did work. The communication and visibility of the Cody superintendent was awful. They hired sub contractors that had little or no supervision. I didn't see much if any quality control from Cody Pools. Trash and left over materials ended up on site. Trades also destroyed our front yard and didn't make much of an effort to repair their damage. There seemed to be a total disregard for the area where they were working and I think a lot of that could have been mitigated with more superintendent supervision. During the time the concrete crew was adding rebar to the deck extension one of the guys stood at the side of the pool and urinated in our pool! My wife was home and happened to walk by and witnessed him do it. As if it were ok, no one cared to apologize or respond in a way that would have been appreciated. They threw trash and treated our pool like a huge toilet. I'm still in shock! After overpaying for the pool, having mistakes, poor quality and not even signing off on our pool I would not recommend Cody Pools. They are simply not as good as other pool builders. The only benefit of Cody is that they won't go out of business. That's little comfort. Our sales guy Zach Johnson told us everything that we wanted to hear to get the sale. I would not trust this company. They care less about your happiness and their reputation. Do your research and choose someone other that Cody Pools! read more

Cody is doing a pool down the street from me on Castellano Way in the Bella Vista subdivision. On the first 2 days there was dirt and rocks all over the street in front of the house and they just expect cars to drive through it I guess. It pains me to say this in a review but I have given Cody pools every chance to make things right to avoid a poor rating and they just don't aren't up to my anticipated standards. I built and bought a six figure pool, but here is my experience in short chronology: -pre sales and design was a great experience. We have a nicely designed pool. -the pool build and overall project management with our super was below average. He didn't communicate with us, hardly ever came by to inspect and we found ourselves calling and texting him to ask when workers would be at your house next to continue the build. -if it was not for my wife and I riding him and being insistent, we feel we would have certainly been pushed aside and scheduled behind others. -once built, we viewed many, many flaws in the pool. -flaws like a 4 inch rusty nail left in backsplash pool tile, stains all over coping from workers, electrical outlets that don't work, no auto-fill, no auto drain or overflow for when it rains, jacuzzi jets not working properly, electrical wiring for a light post that remained exposed for two weeks while kids present in yard, glue stains all over backsplash and a French drain that is ineffective. Like I said, it was a grind to work with Cody throughout the process. When you spend hard earned money on a pool, I guess I expect better customer service, attention to detail and everything to work right and to my satisfaction before the job is complete. That was not my experience. read more

Here is my Cody Pools experience. 3 leaks 1 in the electrical system 3 Overflow float issues Every wall is crooked 7 check valve issues 11 cracks in deck 5 huge cracks in pool gunite All of these issues in just 3 months after it took them 9 months to complete the pool. Cody Pool admitted in BBB mediation that they do not build pools they sell pools. All work is subcontracted out. Two of the subs have multiple tax ids and multiple addresses. I urge everyone to stay away from these guys. They are 1 lawsuit from closing their doors and re-opening as another name leaving the customer hanging. They are patching and patching my pool until the warrantee runs out then they will walk leaving a pile of dust and cracks. Ok, so we had issues with the sales person but that's wasn't ethical so we dealt with the construction manager, Tom on the build. The Pool design was great, the service during install was good as well, no complaints. However, a few years after the pool was installed we have had several issues with failures due to the decking settling. The warranty/service dept was not very easy to get hold of and seemed to drag their feet on repairs. Unfortunately, since the warranty (three years) has expired we've had numerous issues - broken seals, busted pipes, broken pool cleaner. I finally had enough and started to complain via social media. I then sent one last attempt to the service department asking for help and guess what, the President of the Company called me back and is at least looking into the issues. So why am I giving them a top rating. My frustration got the best of me so this is an apology. read more

We love our new pool built by Cody. Reviews are subjective so when hiring a pool company, please consider the number of pools built each year. Our pool was built in "off season" started Jan 2018 and completed on time. Ryan designed our pool and did the pricing. He was available to meet and go over pricing as many times as needed. The contract meeting was thorough, and expectations were clearly laid out. Trey was our superintendent and was on top of our project. He was spot on for keeping us informed and when trades were scheduled they were on time. Yes, a few subs left some garbage laying around, but I simply picked it up in a bag and tossed in our garbage bin. Each phase was inspected before the next one started. It takes both sides to complete a pool! I highly recommend Cody Pools - not the cheapest but reliable. We have had no problems although brand new but competent that if an issue arises, it would be taken care of. read more

Cody Pools does not even deserve one star! As a family we had made the decision to build a pool. We interviewed several companies. Cody was the first. Our sales rep was impersonal, snobby and tried to sell us on items that we had no interest in; however, this was the type of personality that I had expected to deal with when making a large purchase such as a pool. He tried to make us believe that we would not be able to achieve our desired pool within our budget. Instead of listening to our design ideas, he completely deviated to a design most suitable to their build needs and profit margin. It was clear to me that they wanted to do as little work as possible at the highest possible price. Cody Pools did not take any of our ideas into account and was approximately $10,000-15,000 more than all other local pool companies, and their customer service is by far the worst. Apparently if you read all of their reviews on yelp, (Cody Pools and Spas, Cody Pools and Spas Inc.) not only is their customer service horrible, but their pool quality seems to be terrible as well. We decided to go with Blue Haven pools. The customer service provided was second to none. They created a design identical to what we wanted and actually stayed under our budget. They didn't try to cut any corners and convince me that it was a better choice; instead, they listened and delivered. I couldn't be any happier with our experience provided by Blue Haven Pools and highly recommend them. DO NOT USE Cody Pools!!!! read more

I would not recommend Cody Pools to anyone!!!! After almost 3 years, we are still having major problems with our plaster. It is stained and discolored, and they have replaced the plaster 3 times during our warranty. This is ridiculous. A $40,000 pool should not look the way mine does. They have come to look at our pool and claim many reasons for the staining and blame it on "poor water" in my city, Cibolo TX. I regret that I have paid so much money to have them put in a pool and the discoloration of the plaster looks so bad, my pool looks 20 years aged!!! Its a brand new pool for goodness sake. Go with Keith Zaars or someone else, your wasting your money with Cody Pools... Theresa Mishler, Cibolo TX (San Antonio Suburb) read more

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT consider this pool builder. Cody Pools breached a contract with us because when they were ready to start construction, they realized it was going to cost them $15-$16K more to build the pool because their salesman had made an error bidding the pool. We had a signed contract with Cody for a set amount which was used for a construction loan. Mike Church, president and owner of Cody Pools, flat out refused to build the pool for us unless we came up with the extra money. He is the one that signed the pool contract for the 'bid' amount, yet he would not take responsibility for his salesman's error. When we couldn't resolve the issue with Cody, we first started with the BBB with our complaints. That turned out to be a complete waste of our time. So, we ended up hiring an attorney. The contract required that we use the binding arbitration process for any legal dispute. After going through that, I don't believe that the binding arbitration process is in any way good for the consumer. I recommend that you read the National Association of Consumer Advocates' website to find out why. I regret that we did not know to do that before signing a contract with a binding arbitration clause in it. . (In fact, the pool builder that we ended up using allowed us to scratch through that clause). We sued Cody Pools for deceptive trade practice and breach of contract. In the end, the arbitrator ruled that Cody Pools did indeed breach the contract. Cody ended up paying the difference in the cost of the pool with the new pool builder as well as an amount for attorney fees and arbitration costs. So in the end, Cody got to pay many tens of thousands of dollars, when all Mike Church had to do in the beginning was stand behind his word and the word of his salesman and build the pool for less profit! We learned a great deal about Cody Pools and their business practices during our legal battle and the depositions are public record. What I have described to you is just a drop in the bucket compared to all of the ugly details. I've taken the time to write this in order to attempt to help other consumers who are looking for a pool builder. Please do your research. Ask friends and acquaintances about their pool builder, and read real review sites like this. Good Luck! By the way, I didn't want to give this company even one star, and in fact, if there was a choice for negative stars I would have chosen that. Yelp required that I pick at least one. read more

Horrible experience! Payed 68,000 for a hunk of concrete. Blake in the design department was fantastic! after that it went down hill. Fred was the contractor. If he comes out I would request a different contractor. As I see it Cody make promises to get you to sign on the dotted line but they are so booked that there is no way they can deliver on time. Our pool was over 2 months behind schedule. Now that our pool is done for about 8 months we have gone through 2 Pentair Pumps and are on the 3rd blower for the Spa. We have also had to replace the pool light and had our Rover cleaner fixed and the Spa haas leaked off and on the whole time that they can't seem to fix. Customer support sucks! Example: when our pump quite the second time we were told that they couldn't come out for a week. Guess what happens after 5 days at 95 degrees and no pump circulation.....Algae. they didn't care, said it was my problem. I had great expectations with cody pools but only the design department met those expectations. read more

Cody Pools installed our pool a little over 3 years ago and while the design is great as soon as the 3 years was up we had a lot of equipment failures and the Warranty department in my opinion is horrible. They are hard to get a hold of and take care of any issues whether large of small. With a pool, repair issues have to be taken care of right away and the personnel at their offices only want you to send emails. Needless to say, while we have a great looking pool design, it is the equipment that keeps it running. A prime example is one month before my warranty was over, they finally came out to look at the motor and replaced the entire motor due to failure. 5 days after my warranty period was up and a little over a month with the new motor that failed they claimed their responsibility was over and all repairs are at my own expense. Can you believe that? "They" installed a new motor and it fails after a month and they will not stand behind it. I used to think highly of them, but now they are a sad reflection of another company that started out caring about their customers and once they start growing we become just another number on their list. I have had 2 friends build pools in the last year and I told them in my opinion to choose another builder due to the poor service issues I experienced with Cody Pools. Cody missed out on these two and probably more down the road as I will never recommend anyone to them. read more
