If you're a new patient and you scheduled an exam and a cleaning, don't count on it. Especially if you need to pre-medicate before your dental work. I got to my appointment and they tell me the cleaning cannot be done, this is after I confirmed multiple times with the appointment. I have already took my medication and then they can't do the cleaning. I would not recommend this place for someone who's looking to establish dental care. Been with Cody dental over 10 years and the past year has been noticeably inferior so I am sad to say I'm leaving and I would not recommend this dental office. Within just the past year they double booked me TWICE and forced my rescheduling, a filling was done incompletely and required a follow up visit. Then I showed up 9 minutes late (I even called in advance to say I was delayed), when I got there they said they wanted to go home, so despite knowing my arrival and being the last patient of the day, they told me best they can do is reschedule in the next two months. They used to be open Fridays as well, but closed due to "lack of business", happens to be my only reasonably available day. I went back as a courtesy to say they can simply remove me from their list. I was mocked and told, upon stating I'd like to switch providers and cited my concerns of service, "Good luck, other dentists will just do the same to you." Said verbatim by front desk Susan. "We have a life too" was very ironically stated as well. I'm very disappointed at whatever has changed as a long time customer, my whole family has gone here for a long time and now none of us do, one by one. 2 stars instead of 1, just because I know it didn't used to be anything like this and I will miss it. read more

Most painful dental cleaning I've ever had. I have my teeth cleaned every six months and have never had any issues. I was recently married and my husband recommended Cody dental as they take insurance and that's where he goes. He stated he's never had a painful visit. I am currently 4 1/2 months pregnant and the experience was anything but pleasant. The hygienist told me she went deep with my cleaning. I swear I could feel blood all over my teeth through most of the cleaning. I've never had any problems in the past. I know my gums are slightly swollen due to the pregnancy, but there was no reason for it to be this painful or bloody. I called my old dentist office to confirm if the experience was beyond what should've been expected at four months and they confirmed it seemed excessive. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

I would not recommend this dental office. I had four cavities filled. One of the fillings failed then redone and failed again. They then recommended a crown be put on. After performing the crown which did not fit well, it was denied by insurance as the crown was seen anot necessary. They also incorrectly over-charged me. It is run like a corporation where you are charged a 2.25% fee for paying with a debit or credit card. I am still a patient of Dr. Singer, and I see Ari for my dental cleaning. I would recommend both of them based on my experiences at Cody in the last 9 years of my patronage. I recently had a visit and wanted to update my review to reflect their new Covid protocol. They ask you to print out and fill out a paper saying that you have not left the country or traveled within the country (etc.) for the last two weeks. They ask that you self report any symptoms on that form. I like that they ask these questions, but wish that it was electronic for two reasons: 1. The more we have to carry and handle the better chance we have of passing germs along to one another that hitch rides on said items. 2. It seems unnecessary to have to use paper and ink in this day when we have such technological advances that would work equally as well. You are asked to arrive at your exact appointment time. You are asked to wear a mask. There are spots marked outside the building where you are called in one by one to have your temp taken, and for the person taking your temp to ask you some of the same questions that were on the form. They write your temp and responses on a piece of paper and then hand it to you---again with the sharing of shit via paper. Despite being exactly on time I was still made to wait for both my x-rays, and for my appointment w Dr. Singer. I chose to staled the whole time, so maybe it was longer than it seemed, but I didn't like being exposed to people coming and going while I waited. No complaints about my appointment with Dr. Singer. I felt he wore adequate PPE and only asked me to remove my mask when it was absolutely necessary. It felt very safe. All in all, I think Cody is doing a very good job for a large dental practice in the midst of a pandemic. My opportunities for improvement would be 1. moving to electronic forms for those of us who are able to do so and offer paper forms for their older clients who may be less tech savvy. 2. Trying to schedule patients so there is no wait time where they are exposed to others. read more

Terrible customer service. The office is rude and refuses to directly answer my questions and concerns. My new dental office called numerous times and was treated just as horribly. We still never got the answers we were looking for and the company refused to release comprehensive records, which leads me to believe they didn't keep my medical records or didn't want us to know what went so wrong! Dr. Dunn ruined my teeth! I have complicated dental issues that were made way worse after spending over $30,000 to try to fix. Now, I am faced with redoing all of the work he did poorly with a new dentist. I have to wonder if the doctors at this practice know what Broomhilda at the front desk is like for the patients? She is stone cold and as friendly and welcoming as a rash. I've gone to this practice for DECADES, and have recently moved out of state, but returned for a short visit. While enroute to Denver a wire on my retainer broke, was stabbing my tongue, was extremely uncomfortable, I could hardly talk and I could barely eat. I stopped in to Cody to see if I could get a quick appointment to have it fixed. Broomhilda greeted me with arms folded across her chest and ZERO sympathy or assistance for a solution to my problems "I can get you in in 2 weeks....we are fully booked". She wouldn't even call upstairs to see if perhaps my Doctor would be willing to fit me in since I'd been his patient for years. I left, frustrated, furious and practically in tears. I ended up going to another practice close by, never been to it before, they took me right in, the dentist looked at the problem and fixed it in under 2 minutes and NO CHARGE!!!! Get rid of Broomhilda! It was not my first encounter with her, and she behaved the same way each time. She is NOT who you want sitting at the front desk. read more

Dr Matt is great, and I am someone who has had their fair share of dental work and does not love going to the dentist. He has helped me with a new mouthguard, adjust my bite, a root canal, and temporary and permanent crowns. The office is research based and professional, and Dr Matt's simply the best! My dentist passed away and the partner sold his business to Cody dental. I've always had great teeth, do my check up's every 6 months so I was OK going here. Holy wallet-poloza! Very expensive. And completely up sold to a fluoride treatment. Then told "you have a deep pocket (6-7mm), need a deep cleaning and 2 crowns." I never went back. I knew better. New dentist: the pocket is 4mm, clean, no issues (the one next to it is 3mm and most of my teeth are); you *could* use 1 crown due to a failing filling and ZERO upsell to unnecessary services. My new hygienist used to work at Cody. Her take: they like to diagnose everyone with periodontal disease whether they have it or not; always upsell because it's all about dollars to this outfit. Her dentist quit and she did too. And the final nail in the Cody coffin. The receptionist for my former dentist was extremely rude. I asked how much prices were and said "wow, expensive!" Her terse response "your former dentist never raised his rates and now you are paying market pricing." So it's my fault I went to a reasonable family dentist for 10 years? My new dentist, $75 less than Cody, and about 10% above my former family dentist. read more

My family and I have been a client of Cody Dental Group since I was 13. I am now 66. We have always been very happy with their service until now. My appointment was on a Monday for a teeth cleaning. I woke up Friday morning and I was not feeling well, given my age and the prospect of COVID, I called first thing on Friday morning to let them know that I was not feeling well, and since I did not want to hold them up, I cancelled my appointment. Later that day, I developed a fever. Lucky, it was not COVID but I did not find out until Tuesday. I just received a bill for $55.00 for missing my appointment. Dr Bruce Dunn completely changed my life. And while that sounds dramatic, it's true. I finally found him and his incredible team after 10 months of consistent and severe dental problems and after visiting over 10 other local practices and specialists. I had a filling done elsewhere that triggered a bite problem and my entire mouth needed to be evaluated and slowly adjusted over time to get me back to a place where every single bite of food wasn't incredibly painful to chew. Dr Dunn, unlike every other practice I visited, really took the time to listen to my dental history, holistically assess my mouth and address the problem, and then patiently explain to me over the course of many carefully calculated visits what needed to be done to correct my bite. I felt heard and seen throughout my entire experience with him, and feel beyond lucky to have found someone so skilled and meticulous in his craft. Dr Dunn is also as kind and charismatic as he is professional and experienced, and I'd highly recommend him and his practice to anyone needing exceptional dental care. After moving to Denver and being without my favorite dentist back home I finally caved and started looking for a new one. My primary concern was making sure they were close since I am still new to town and I found Cody, which is right across the street from the Ross University Hills library. I made the appt for my husband first (who was in sore need of dental work) with Dr Bunch. let me just tell you that Dr Bunch is wonderful! He explains everything to you in terms you can understand (They get a star just for explaining what is going on, which is sadly something not many dentists seem to do), he was quick and efficient, and made sure to check how much pain my hubby was in during this proceedure- He ended up needing more local. His office exceedingly clean and the receptionists were all very friendly and helpful. I can't give this place better reviews than 5 stars on Yelp, but I would give 10 if I could. Reviewing a dentist. This is my chance to get back at ALL dentists for all the uncomfortable cleanings over the years. I will make them pay, and I won't give them any drugs to cut the pain. Hahahahaha (evil laugh). Wait a minute. Dang! I can't do it. The peeps at Cody Dental Group are great. Dr. Singer is personable and professional. I feel confident that if I had a dental emergency he would steer me in the right direction. I have had two different types of cleaning procedures during my visits. One was was non-traditional to me. The hygenist used a high pressure water "scraper" to clean my teeth. This was a welcome change from the usual razor-sharp, rusty pick favored by most hygenists. Hmm, I thought, I could get used to this. But on my next visit it was back to my nemesis, the dreaded weapons of mouth destruction. My appointment was pushed back and I was awakened (I worked the night before) in the waiting room by Linda J., my hygenist. When she pulled out the tools I am certain I shuddered a little, but then she went to work. With a delicate touch she maneuvered through my mouth effortlessly and without inflicting major pain. Bravo Linda! I was also compensated with a gift card to Einstein's for having to wait. Nice touch. I look forward to my next visit. Did I just type that?! read more

I have been to Cody Dental 3 times over the last 2 years and have to say that it is the best experience I have had with a dentist every time. Dr. Dunn specifically and the whole staff are friendly, the visit is comfortable and not intrusive. They are straight forward with you and any dental problems you may have and not once have I felt like I am being "sold" on any product or service they offer. I have never wanted to go to the dentist before....I can honestly say for the first time in my life that I am looking forward to getting my teeth cleaned in another 6 months!! read more

DONT GO HERE - GET FULL CLARITY ON THE CHARGES UPFRONT - DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR BODY BEFORE ANYTHING IMPORTANT. I came here to have a visible decayed toothed root canaled and capped before MY WEDDING. I explain that I am also model, and with up coming shoots and I needed my smile. I could see her eyes rolling as I said this. They root canaled the tooth and oddly, stuffed it with BRIGHT ORANGE dental wire. They said the wire, would fill the tooth and support it's structure. Within 5 days, the wire starting coming out of the tooth, back into my mouth. It was very painful to chew food and impossible to stuff this wiring back into the now, hollowed out tooth. I called the office several times for an appointment to remove the wiring and put a cap on. I could feel the tooth getting weaker and again, on the 9th day, the tooth became brittle and fell apart in my mouth. When the office manager finally called me back, she said they have exhausted my insurance, but she'd give me an appointment anyway, to fix the tooth. She was snarky and snide. I came in, they capped it and the dentist said we'd work out the money later and he was really hoping that the ROOT of the tooth had not cracked or else he was in trouble. Lawsuit territory...We both laughed about it and went on with the appointment. 30 days later I find out that they charged me 100% full price to fix their mistake! Plus the bill is rolling and interest is added every month so the ADDED billing never stops. My sister is a dental technician in ATL and I showed her office all my bills and it was their professional opinion that I had been taken advantage of and the Cody Group should be ashamed of their business office practices. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY WEDDING WAS COMING HERE! I could not smile in any of my wedding pictures because of the bright orange wire hanging out of my tooth. Ruined my pictures. read more

She spent two hours in the dentist chair and received a humongous 4200 dollar bill. This work could have been done at Comfort Dental for less the 800 dollars. I would like to start out by saying that the care I received at Cody was top notch. I have no complaints with the staff or care. What I find extremely disappointing is that I came in as a new patient to have a cleaning and check up done. They never told me what my price range was or what to expect. They had me in for two visits because they did so much they ran out of time on the first visit. No mention of cost was made and I assumed all items being done would fall under my insurance plan which covers two cleanings a year. WRONG! They did regular xrays, a panoramic xray, a check of my gums and the cleaning. When all was said and done I had no cavities or needs beyond the cleaning. My bill came two weeks later for just shy of $400. I was SO relieved that I opted not to get the $500 whitening trays OR the $40 per month vitamins they tried to sell me. Likewise with the new dental anxiety treatment they were piloting. I was in shock. This seems completely impractical and if their pricing is so out of what is reasonable for a normal working person with insurance I cannot imagine going here if you do not have insurance. The care was great but only go here if you have limitless pockets for spending. I just wish I would have double checked after they said they did in fact take Delta Dental Insurance. My insurance covered less than $100 so without insurance a typical visit would have been $500! read more

My insurance company and myself paid close to $3400.00 for a cavity (root canal), crown and cleaning. Cody Dental didn't even perform the root canal on the decayed tooth themselves! I was sent to a periodontist and paid for the root canal separately, which was another $700.00. The total for one cavity, with a root canal and cleaning was over $4000.00! My portion of the bill was $2050 on top of $260 at the periodontist. I'll NEVER darken the door of this place again. If you want to chip in on the house that Cody built, go ahead, I'm out. ROBBERY!!! I work in medical billing, and the usual practice is for the insurance company to negotiate with the dentist for a reduced rate. Next, the dentist (or doc) bases the percentage you pay based off the amount he has accepted from the insurance company. Well not Cody! They make you the patient pay the higher amount they can't get from the insurance company! They can't get the exorbitant charge from insurance so they stick it to you the patient. They also use up all your insurance benefit and don't tell you. They break up services into multiple visits so there is a billing delay in getting the total amount. Before you know it, you're benefit is gone and you get a bill for thousands. Caveat emptor. read more

So far I have primarily dealt with Dr. Ping Ping Lucero, and the experience has been kind of a joke. The situation: a provisional crown on a front tooth fell out and my normal dentist - Dr. Lucero's co-worker who I had been seeing for 25 years - was unavailable. I saved the broken crown and asked her to re-cement it. She made a half-hearted attempt to fix it before suggesting I go back to the doctor in California who started the work because she doesn't like to touch work that was started by another dentist (I live in Colorado now). The re-cement lasted about 1/2 hour before the tooth fell out... during a job interview. I called the office immediately and arranged for a replacement crown, a reasonable payment plan and some credit for the failed work. I was called back shortly before my appointment and told that Dr. Lucero would not offer any credit for the failed re-cementing (for which I paid $115 in good faith) and furthermore would not allow me to make payments on the replacement crown... after I had been offered both by her office manager. UPDATE: I spoke to Dr. Lucero and she stated that these are Cody Dental's policies, not her personal ones. I recently had my work hours cut and dental insurance revoked and am in need of a practice that can work with me on a limited budget, without insurance and will allow a payment plan for work over $300. Apparently, Cody Dental cannot/will not work with me under these circumstances which is very disappointing. Their business model clearly favors profits over patients. read more

After postponing a visit to the dentist for soooooo long, I finally went with a referral to Cody Dental Group PC, specifically Dr. Singer. Really, I think it had been 5 years since I had been to a dentist. Shemae, Dr. Singer's assistant, was efficient and personable with scheduling and insurance information. I hardly got to turn 2 magazine pages before I was called in from the lobby. Dr. Singer and his hygenist Amanda gave me the feeling that I was in good competent hands and never once made me feel like a loser for waiting so long to see a dentist. I was able to view all my x-rays and understand my problem areas and ask questions. I was treated with importance and concern. While working on my teeth, Dr. Singer gave me the feeling that my physical comfort was important. I experienced no pain! I am so grateful to have found a great dentist and his incredible team. My three children (7,4,2) see Dr. Simmons. She was great with my kids. And the staff at the front are awesome as well. Both my two younger children have special needs and the entire staff worked with us to make this the best dental experience for them. Dr. Simmons was quick and efficient. I've gone to a couple of those chain type places for cleanings but when they started telling me I needed extensive/invasive work done (ironically they each told me I had completely different problems) I decided to find a real dentist that I could see regularly. I live minutes away from Cody and was happy to see such good reviews. I also have had a great experience and was so relieved when they told me I do not need any of the work the other scammers were trying to get me to do. I see Dr. Chew and my son has seen Dr. Van Houton. They are both wonderful and I feel I am getting completely honest assessments. I was escorted back to a dental chair, spoke with the hygienist and dentist actually came in and explained the procedure to me. I was then referred to another dentist regarding a root canal and crown. He actually explained about what the procedure entails and the importance brushing and flossing and spent about 20 minutes with me.
