I had my teeth cleaned here by recommendation of a periodontist. The hygienist told me I should take ivermectin. MAGA propaganda. Then went on to tell me her ex-husband has something to do with the nuggets and he plays games with their children. BOTTOM LINE, INCREDIBLY INAPPROPRIATE. Then the "dentist" came in to tell me I have bone recession. I went to two periodontists after the appointment. One in Phoenix at Biltmore Dentistry, Twin Rivers in Jax, and one in West Palm Beach. All of which told me Scavuzzo was misinformed and did not have the education to be speaking on the matter. When I went to pay the receptionist, who was already in need of some help with her interpersonal skills, tried to sell me on the dental insurance they want you to sign up for. It's a scam. She then tried to act like I would be a moron to not get the insurance. I'm not sure if she understood that her BS might work on the average clientele but she came off like a pathetic idiot trying to pedal more garbage. She's not a sales person, she's not charismatic, she isn't even a decent human being. I wouldn't engage with her if I wasn't required to. I walked in and I witnessed the receptionist pushing a woman to her financial limit, and sobbing, by suggesting she needed the dental plan for her son to get treatment. Or they couldn't move forward. DISGUSTING! Avoid this s***hole at all costs. Oh yeah, the cleaning sucked. Quality of care is non-existent when your hygienist spends more time pushing MAGA propaganda and talking about her mess of a life rather than doing her job. read more

HOW is a cleaning and X-ray $519.99?!?! I was quoted on the phone 2 weeks ago that this exact visit would cost me around $300 without insurance. A bit steep, but I was setting up dental insurance in the meantime. I was told by a receptionist here that with Aflac insurance, everything is paid up-front and I'll file a claim with my insurance. I was unaware of this due to a misunderstanding with my insurance agent, but I figured after my appointment, it would still be that $300 that I was quoted. When I was told the total after my appointment, I said that I could NOT afford over $500 for a cleaning and X-ray. The younger receptionist at the desk chimed in, and condescendingly said, "We already told you you'd have to pay up-front before your appointment". WELL, yes, I was completely aware but I sure wasn't aware that it cost me over $500. She said the extra money after the quote I received were "Office fee's"... F***ing comical, like this place can't afford their administrative costs, as is. Take that extra $219 of mine, and refill your printers ink. Definitely not coming back, as someone who is a low-income individual and needs more work done with my teeth, this place is a scam and doesn't care about your personal life situations when it comes to money. read more

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Scacuzzo since 1994. Our oldest started seeing him in 2001 and our youngest in 2013. I have always had a great experience and he and his team have always been honest and up front with procedures and costs. I have paid more only because I chose to get an inlay or deep cleaning. There are other cheaper dentists out in the metro area, but you will most likely not get the professional experience or honesty like you would receive at Scavusso Dental. I have had one (1) crown with bone graph sucessfully done. Bottom line: He knows his profession, he's honest and caring. He knows how to provide exemplary services that keep having patients return and bring fiends and family. read more

Dr. Scavuzzo may be a qualified dentist, but I'll never know because my insurance wouldn't cover any treatment by him. When I scheduled the consultation appointment, the office professional said they do take Cigna. But then I got a bill for the consultation and x-ray (which I didn't ask for), with a note saying the TYPE of Cigna I have won't cover Dr. Scavuzzo. Just wanted other potential patients to know that you'll be billed by Dr. Scavuzzo's office, even if they KNOW your insurance won't be accepted when they make your appointment. Yes, I sent a check. Yes, he cashed it. Yes, it's a little unfair. read more

A few years ago I came here to repair a chip in my front tooth. In the process of repairing it, they drilled the surface of the tooth next to it making it significantly smaller and darker. They didn't want to take responsibility for it but I had a picture from one day before my appointment showing a healthy tooth so they repaired it (and billed my insurance). Of course the composite they repaired the tooth with eventually wore off leaving visible discoloration. When I went back in to have it fixed (which I would be paying for) they opted to spend my entire appointment photoshopping me with veneers even though I said I can't afford them and don't like how they look. I guess he thought I'd change my mind. I didn't. So then they expected me to reschedule getting the tooth they destroyed fixed which I didn't do. They've also said I needed filings for teeth another dentist said were fine and recommended a crown where another dentist said I need a filling. I'll have a damaged front tooth for the rest of my life because of these snakes. read more

Have to downgrade this to a 1 star rating now. Unfortunately my husband used them last year for an emergency visit due to being near our house, and then had the EXACT same problem with the front desk and billing department. They said, at the time he went in, that they accepted his insurance 100%, he was in-network and all the costs were covered. Well, after all the work was done....GOTCHA!....wouldn't you know it that he incurred $300 in charges that were not covered. Either the front desk/billing department are a bunch of liars, thieves or are totally incompetent and need to quite a find a job cleaning toilets. Considering the shitty job they are doing now, this career change would be the perfect fit!!! read more

I would absolutely never in my life recommend that anybody go to the dentist. I went to him in 2020 to get a tooth pulled. At the time I could not afford an implant so I told Mr. Scavuzzo that I wanted to wait until I can afford it to get the implant. He told me that in order to wait I would have to pay $600 for a bone graft which I did. After paying $600 for the bone graft I went in a few months later thinking I was going in for a check up and I was actually scheduled for the implant. When I arrived and they told me I was there for the implant appointment I was already in the chair, numbed and I was very confused. I felt very pressured by the dentist and his staff so I ended up paying the two grand to get the implant. After getting the implant I went home and talk to my mom and realized that I had paid $600 for a bone graft a fee months prior so I didn't have to get the implant. The dentist manipulated me into paying more money than I needed to to get my tooth pulled and get a bone graft just to schedule me for an implant as soon as medically possible. I paid at least $600 more getting a bone graft when I got my tooth pulled that I didn't need to pay because the dentist scheduled me to get the implant soon as I could even though he knew I wanted to wait and HE was the one that suggested the bone graft. After this I continued going to the dentist because I had already paid two grand for the implant but the implant failed and honestly I have not gone back since then because I do not have faith in his dentist. Since then I got a $250 bill for an appointment I canceled and it's supposedly for a missed appointment. I have called multiple times to get my dental records to see what his missed appointment was and Mr. Scavuzzo's office refused to send it to me. I am going to call again today and if they don't want to send it to me I am going to file a complaint with the dental board of Colorado. Mr. Scavuzzo is not somebody you should trust he is one of those dentist that will manipulate you and spending as much money as possible. Do not go to the dentist if you care about your money and where it goes. He will take advantage of you as soon as he sees the chance. read more

I haven't been to the doctor or dentist in quite a few years and finding an open appointment before next year seemed impossible before I found Dr. Scavuzzo's office. If you need to get in right away, chances are there's an open appointment for you. Both the dentist and office staff are very polite, calming, and knowledgeable and for the most part, my visit was an enjoyable experience. What rubbed me the wrong way is that no one in the office even attempted to let me know that they were out of network for my insurance carrier. I only figured it out when I got a quote for $2900 for one anterior tooth to be crowned and called to cancel my next appointment. Had I not had a friend in the dental industry to advise me, I would have moved forward and paid the $3k thinking it was normal. I think to show respect to your customers, you should always be willing to let them know if and when they are vastly overpaying for a service they could get for half the price, especially if that person doesn't work with dental insurance every day and know what to look for. As a doctor's office, I feel you are in a position of trust; trust that I feel like was immediately shattered when I found out a normal crown costs anywhere from $800-$1600 with insurance. read more

I was really excited to come here at first, but that was quickly led to disappointment by an incompetent office staff. Several questions left unanswered and several times I was told I would get a call back but never did. Dr. Scavuzzo actually seemed like he would be a good fit, but I was also misdiagnosed twice here leading to several unnecessary appointments. They also tried to charge me twice for the same visit and this place is way more expensive than any comparable dentist. All in all this was a total waste of time and money. read more

Dr. Scavuzzo is an excellent dentist. Not only is he extremely competent and knowledgeable, he is gentle, caring, and was practically painless. While you are in the chair, he entertains you with some interesting topics. Complementing his office is his office manager, Mario. Mario walks the walk and talks the talk when he looks for ways to save you money with your dental insurance. He is very sincere in helping you save money on your dental care, which is extremely helpful to me. Dr. Scavuzzo's staff is all very competent and friendly. Additionally, this dental office will work with you regarding appointment times. They strive to accommodate to your schedule, not theirs, which is a very welcome departure from other dental offices I have experienced. I had a dental emergency on a Saturday afternoon, after calling around I found Franks office. They were closing in ten minutes and I lived an hour away. They offered to stay late to see me, after my arrival to the office they treated me especially well, the level of care and love they put into this was nothing short of amazing. My husband got an in lay and crown done by Frank Scavuzzo October 2016. Because of Dr. Scavuzzo's negligence a void was left and decay set in. My husband had to have the in lay and crown replaced as it was done improperly. Having talked to Frank Scavuzzo on two different occasions he said he would refund our insurance and us. It never happened. We learned the hard way that we should have stayed in network with our insurance. Their office played a lot of games with us and we sent them all the x-rays and paperwork they asked for while they never returned calls or followed through My husband had to go through the pain and suffering of having to have the work re done and we had to pay for all of it. Stephanie his office manager (also his wife) would never respond. We contacted her 7 times with no returned calls and it was only after we felt we had no choice but to file a complaint with DORA (department of regulatory agencies) that she then responded telling us we could talk to their attorney. We waited to hear from her for their attorney information and again it never happened. I should have believed the other negative reviews and I'm just dumbfounded that they wouldn't have wanted to make this right. read more

I just had a teeth whitening session with Dr. Frank Scavuzzo and I'm completely amazed with the results. When I arrived, I was greeted by Dr. Scavuzzo's wife, Stephanie, and their friendly team of associates. I was made to feel right at home in their family-style office. Dr. Scavuzzo and his team took the time to understand my objectives and suggested a number of viable options. I chose the combination "in-office/in-home treatment" plan. Next, they took a impressions for a mold of my teeth (for my in-home use) and I returned a week later to begin the treatment. For the in-office portion, they took a few pictures so that we had a starting point for comparison. Then they applied a whitening solution to my teeth and used a new-fangled machine (don't recall what it's called, but it was kind of a heat lamp) to enhance the effectiveness of the solution. Within 45 minutes, as was totally clear from the "after" pictures, my teeth were several shades whiter! The process was quick and painless. Then they sent me home with several tubes of whitening gel and the teeth mold to enhance the results from the in-office session. It's real easy to use. All I had to do was was to add the gel to the the mold and leave it in my mouth for 15 minutes every day for two weeks. I'm halfway through the process and I continue to see progress! If you're thinking of whitening your teeth, I highly recommend a visit with Dr. Scavuzzo. It was a great experience. A big "thanks" to the entire Scavuzzo Dental Team. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Frank Scavuzzo's and after everything that I have been through, I am a patient for life. I had some very serious jaw/bite issues that caused two severe episodes of facial/jaw muscle seizing and spasms. After the second episode, Dr. Frank walked through everything, including a review of an old car accident, past orthodontics and care. He found the cause of the problem and worked with me over a few years to correct my bite and stop the spasms and acute jaw and ear pain. He was there every step of the way and I cannot say enough about the level of care from his staff and the personal care and service that I received and continue to receive from him. I generally avoid going to the dentist for as long as possible, but they made me feel perfectly comfortable upon the first greeting. They were attentive and affable throughout my appointment, and I even left with a free mug and Starbucks gift card.
