I've been here about 5 times before and I'm never disappointed. I ordered chile relleno and red snapper with Veracruzana sauce. I usual don't order fish but my wife encouraged it and this food was so tasty. The chile relleno is my favorite dish here. It's a can't miss. A great vegetarian option!! Our waitress made sure we were taken care of and we didn't feel forgotten about. The restaurant is setup nicely. I'll be back. Our

Recently I tried their tacos for an event and was impressed. So tonight I decided to have dinner here. I ordered a Michelada drink which was watery and more spicy, not much liquor. The chicken fajitas was wth because it was more of a chicken soup - no flava. Not recommended. My guest order the ground beef tacos which was good. I should have ordered that. Server Miriam was decent. Place was clean, nicely decorated though no Christmas decor(????). That is very grinchy. Restroom was clean. Would I come back? Hmmmm not sure.

Food and drinks were so good! I had the steak tacos, quesabirria and mango margarita either a side of rice and beans. Delicious! Prompt service. They have an attached parking lot with ample parking. Great vibes inside as well. Would definitely recommend.

    Burrito Suizo

He pedido 3 veces los mismos platos y han estado excelente, lo recomiendo 100% La carne de las quesabirrias suave con nada o muy poco "pellejo" "grasa" tal como me gusta. No incluye frijoles. El Burrito lo pedimos de pastor y esta super condimentado y rico, este si incluye frijoles y arroz. El picante que viene aparte esta rico y suave

Services & Food 10/10 . Love This Place My guy friend introduced me to this place on my birthday, ever since then I couldn't get my taste buds off the chicken tacos/hard shell. We went back & I decided to try the soft tortillas, which were also amazing! I recommend Cocula on California.

Get your Imodium AD and Pepto and throw it out! It's not going to help. Ordered the suizo chicken burrito with avocado and my husband ordered the same no avocado. Worse diarrhea of our lives, my husband's food poisoning came with vomiting too. We've been creating a list of places to never order from again. This place just made top of the list. Have the fire department on standby your toilet will EXPLODE.

Coculas on commercial been eating here for many years. This evening a huge disappointment. Sent my nephew to pick up dinner he came back in 30 minutes ( i live nearby). Burrito was half the size as usual( no exaggeration) and it was cold. How did they do that? Cold? The chicken quesadilla was greasy. How did they do that? Nephew said there were kids in the kitchen cooking. Been going there for ao many years, i will try again, but if this happens, thats all for me. In all fairness, the chips were crispy and great.

Cocula is a nice restaurant to have drinks with family friends or if you just want to decompress with your coworkers. The price is right! I've been here three times and I must say the customer service was great. My Food came out hot and my drinks had me ready to do some dancing . My meal of choice is the QuesoBirria tacos and my drink of choice is the Magarona. Check out the pics below.

    So delicious!!

This was some of the best (and most authentic) Mexican food we've had! My husband and I ordered (and shared) the carne asada plate which includes a cheese enchilada. It was amazing and plenty to split! Also, the service was amazing- very attentive server. And we didn't feel rushed to finish; a very relaxed and enjoyable meal!!

My all time favorite spot to get Mexican food in the city. I can't recall a time I've ever dined at any of their establishments and wasn't satisfied. I know that not everyone will always have the same experiences when dining out but the consistency I've experienced from this establishment in particular is always on point. I started coming here in the 6th grade and ever since have been hooked. Needless to say a few of the servers working here are still here from when I originally started coming to this location 15+ years ago. It's certainly has made it's mark and is a South Chicago staple. There's plenty of seating, hardly ever a long wait time and they even have the old fashioned (updated version) of the jukebox so you can pick some tunes while dining. If you dine in on the right day you just might be lucky enough to see the mariachi band live. Good food , warm welcoming vibes and an easy to get to location with ample parking space. This will forever be my all time favorite place for Mexican food.

We started off with chips and salsa, and the salsa was a bit too spicy for me, but everyone else enjoyed it. We started with the Chicken Poblano - a savory dish with creamy poblano sauce mixed with chicken and sliced poblano peppers topped with corn. We all enjoyed it. Most of the reviews recommended the enchiladas and we ordered a variety of them. The Enchiladas Poblanos stuffed with chicken and cheese. The poblano sauce was rich and smoky. We also had the Enchiladas Morita. They were filled with shrimp and cheese. It was so flavorful and the morita chile added so much flavor. Each dish was served with a side jicama salad. Their special was a shrimp pasta with lobster. It came with full lobster tail. The sauce was creamy and flavorful. It is also BYOB, which is a nice option. Service was excellent, friendly offered recommendations. This is probably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants and highly recommend.

We especially love then poblano sauce on the chicken enchiladas. The enchiladas have some tender chicken and the sauce is slightly spicy and creamy. Everyone is super friendly, the waiting staff and chef take pride in their work and it shows. I continue to strongly recommend this place for a delicious dinner out. We arrived around 7:30 on a Friday night and the place was packed. We only had to wait 10-15 minutes, which passed quickly with the live Mariachi music. The food came out pretty quickly considering how busy it was. We got: - Margaritas -- piña mezcal, passion fruit and pepino. They were good but a little small for the price. - Pozole Pipian -- It has a verde base that's very light. Something that makes it unique is chicharrones on top. My daughter prefers pork over the chicken. - Carnitas Huarache -- good flavors but probably my least favorite of the meal. - Asada Torta -- this was my favorite dish of the night. The bread was really light and the meat wasn't tough at all. For dessert we got the churritos and Mexican bread pudding. Both were good but nothing special. All in all a great meal.

I arrived at the restaurant on time (4:30) and checked in with the hostess, who said I could only be seated when the entire group of three arrived. This seemed weird given the restaurant was pretty empty at this time, and ordinarily I'd order a drink while waiting at the table. Regardless, I went to Starbucks instead because I knew the other two were a few minutes behind. When I got back to the restaurant, my friend said the hostess told him we absolutely had to leave within 1.5 hours because we were late... which seemed odd because he may have checked in 15 minutes after our reservation, to an empty restaurant, that already refused to seat me on time. Regardless, the food was delicious. I had the Pollo in ChiChilo-- the mole was delicious, and I loved the chicken and sweet potato. I ordered the mole on the side, which seemed like a nice balance. Since the hostess wouldn't previously seat me, I had a lovely iced matcha latte with oat milk and half a pump of vanilla from Starbucks, which was a nice pairing. The waiter did ask if I wanted a shot of something with it, which seemed odd. Ambiance was cute, probably due for a renovation but seemed appropriate for most dining out occasions- dates, families, a day out in town. Note: the restaurant charges an automatic 20% gratuity which may explain the service. Keep this in mind to avoid tipping more than you intend. Overall, I would definitely come back, and the food and wait staff made up for the abrasive welcome.
