I ordered my spaghetti marinara with a rigatoni noodle..
    Jeff W.

My expectations for this place were out of this world: my son and wife ate here two nights in a row when they came to visit University of Tennessee Medical School.... They both proclaimed it to be the best Italian food they have ever eaten, and my wife is half Italian!!!!! Like holy crap, right??? For me, it was pretty good .... The house salad was my favorite part of the meal. I had the spaghetti marinara and the sauce had some heat in it that took away from the flavor. They both loved the vodka rigatoni, and the chicken Parm..... Tiny and homey inside. Can be very loud if you were in the wrong part of the restaurant. We lucked out and had one of the very few booths. My son says it cheapens a restaurant to give out free bread, but I would've appreciated some bread to eat with my salad ..... Also strange that they serve soft drinks in cans and no brewed iced tea... Service was perfect. We will surely be back for reason stated at the beginning of this review ....

Delicious! Cocozza is a perfect choice for on the island dining. The staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs! Our cups were never dry! We got the bruschetta as our appetizer and I would highly recommend! The balsamic dressing was delicious. We also shared the Eggplant Parmesan and it was so good! We both ate our fill and still had leftovers! I can't wait to visit again!

Alright alright... The lady & I had a craving for Italian and this scratched the itch for suuuurrreee. I had the chicken parm which was fantastic, but her pasta???? Maaaaannnn. 10/10. Also added some garlic bread as a side. I forget our server's name but he was also fantastic. Great atmosphere too loved the holiday decorations. Had a great time

Delightfully cute place on the island. All of the employees were friendly, and we were greeted with kindness and hospitality at entry. We made a reservation for our party and table was ready at arrival-- must call for parties 5 or more. Our server, Cici, went above and beyond with suggestions and service. The expansive menu options made it hard to pick, so we all ordered something different to share a fork bite. For the main, we ordered the lasagna, rigatoni, and tortellini. Absolutely rich and delicious dishes. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate chip cannolis and lemon new york cheesecake. Absolutely tasty options with the americano. Overall, I would highly recommend. We forgot we were in Memphis and felt like we travelled to Italy for the evening.

Fantastic service, wonderful menu selection, excellent service. Very popular place. Sat at the bar. Food arrived very quickly. Nothing bad to say. Definitely will return.

Am I in Italy rn? Sure feels like it! Such a great spot with fresh pasta. Their restaurant is put together so nicely and the food is fantastic. Serving sizes are generous and you'll always leave with leftovers. Great spot for a dinner outside!

The LASAGNA!! Someone stole their grandma recipe lol!! The salad was good too. Tomatoes and olives were so fresh! I don't even like olives but I ate a few of those lol. The waitress gave great recommendations on food and wine. As well as a taste tester before I committed on the wine. The atmosphere is so cute and packed for a Monday!

All I can say is FANTASTIC food and FANTASTIC service. Our server Brooke was the best..pleasant, friendly, extremely helpful, efficient, just THE BEST. We are coming back tomorrow ..all 4 of us in our party felt the same. Ambiance terrific as well. Best antipasto we have ever had (we are all 77 and been to Italy and loads of Italian restaurants. Also the creamiest and best cannelloni we have ever had. Vodka spritzer were unique and delicious. Main dish we had were veal parmessian and chicken picata. Can't say enough good about this restaurant highly recommended by our Air bnb host as well. Oh..almost forgot, the eggplant fries were so crispy and tasty.

The hostess definitely needs some work in customer service though cause the vibe was off when we went to check in with her. Like she was surprised we were there and once we verified with them that we had a reservation, and another person showing interest in us, her whole demeanor changed. As for the establishment itself, would recommend sitting outside due to the light breeze and ambiance but be mindful of mosquitoes. Our party ordered mozzarella sticks and calamari as appetizers for the table and few with arugula and Caesar salad. I ordered the vodka rigatoni, add meatballs and the grapefruit Paloma spritzer (non-alcoholic). The calamari was delicious and everything else was good, nothing much to say about it. Our waitress was amazing and attentive to our party of 6. Consistently checked up on us and made sure our drinks were never empty. Recommend trying this place out at least once but it's not something that I would frequent often.

What a treat! This was my first time and I can't wait to bring some friends next week! My meal was so good, I will have a hard time ever ordering anything else. Caesar salad, Pork Milanese, and we shared Amaretto flan. The best flan I have ever had! The service was attentive without being overbearing! It is a cute spot, it is small so be sure to make a reservation.

We were staying in the neighborhood and decided to finally try some of the local places. I mean who doesn't love a neighborhood pasta restaurant. And the verdict: not too shabby. We had several varieties and they were all at least decent. Also had a couple of cocktails which were, similarly, quite decent. Overall, a very decent, tasty neighborhood spot. If you're in the area, definitely give them a try.

Absolutely delicious! They also feature a daily burger special, which keeps the menu interesting. The crinkle fries are consistently hot and pair perfectly with the burgers. On top of that, they offer a great selection of both imported and domestic beers. The staff is always super friendly. Overall, it's a great spot to grab a burger, hang out, and enjoy the atmosphere.

Our server Becky was very friendly and helpful. The place has tables and chairs and high top tables too. The bar is dark but they do have some picnic tables near the entrance for more light. Bathrooms were clean and had a lot of personal signatures and art. I am going to return to get a different kind of burger.

Here's a clean, strong review that keeps your energy: Hands down one of the best spots in town. The beer selection is top-tier--something for everyone, whether you're into classics or trying something new. The food is next level, especially the fries... easily top 3 I've ever had. Unfortunately, we were met with one of the rudest bartenders I've ever encountered. As soon as we sat down at the bar, the bartender--a Caucasian woman with a short haircut whose name I unfortunately didn't get--greeted us with an attitude that immediately made us feel unwelcome. Instead of providing friendly service, she was dismissive, impatient, and rushed us through placing our to-go order. She informed us that we could not eat at the bar, which was completely fine. We agreed without any issue and ordered our food to go. However, when my food arrived, I simply opened the container to make sure my order was correct before leaving. She immediately rushed back over and aggressively said, "Didn't I tell you that you could not eat at the bar?" I hadn't taken a single bite--I was only checking my order. Rather than politely clarifying the policy, she continued to scold us and make us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. We still hadn't even received my friend's food, yet she seemed more interested in lecturing us than providing basic customer service. Once my friend's food finally arrived, we left as quickly as possible. As visitors in town celebrating Pride, we expected a welcoming atmosphere and basic courtesy. Instead, we experienced hostility, impatience, and a complete lack of professionalism. There's a huge difference between enforcing a policy and treating customers with disrespect, and this bartender clearly doesn't understand that distinction. The food may have been fine, but the service was so unpleasant that I would never return or recommend Bar Dogs to anyone looking for a friendly place to eat or have a drink. Customer service training is desperately needed.
