Our party of 8 had good service and food. We were celebrating my mother's 84th birthday. We walked in with a small homemade cake (made by my niece for her grandmother) and put it on our table. When we asked for plates, we were told there would be a $15 cake-cutting fee. I asked the manager, who said it is listed on their website. I don't see anything on the website or their menu. As a lifelong Memphian who has enjoyed my mom's homemade cakes at almost every restaurant in town, this has bothered me. Still, the most disturbing part was the attitude of your manager, who was defiant and lied about this fee being on the website. And if it is on the website, please tell me where and how it helps customers who call and book reservations or folks without internet access. Do better. read more

Harbor Town is lucky to have this hidden gem in its restaurant arsenal. My boyfriend took me here for a date night/birthday celebration. I've traveled a lot and this restaurant has a unique sexy charm to it that is often times only attainable in coastal cities like NYC or Boston. The place was jam packed and wait time was about 90 minutes. We did not mind and enjoyed the bustling energy of the restaurant! Many couples followed suit. Service was cool, calm, and collected under the pressure of unhappy guests. We came in with a reservation as soon as the hostess seen us she said "they were all booked" and I showed her our reservation on my phone they were still "all booked" she would not give any other explanation but they're booked and they don't want "my kind". Do not come there unless you want to be kicked out over the way you look, your religion, race, gender, etc. Mind you it was my first time ever trying to go there, I should have listened to the people who told me how ignorant they are and not attempted. Ordered cheese/garlic bread (great) and a caesar salad (very small for its price) For appetizers got spaghetti and meatballs (3) and ate it for 3 meals with the bread. The food is generic as a can of spaghetti-o's. The sauce doesn't taste homemade, it's chunky and not traditional Italian food, as the prices would make it seem. They charge extra for drinks. First time I've ever seen that extra charge on a $12 drink that is only three small sips. The portions make up for the food not being great. They give you a lot of mediocre food, which I suppose would make up for the price. The only reason I gave two stars as opposed to one. Go somewhere else if you want good Italian food. Walked in around 5 without a reservation, place was empty except for couple people at the bar. We were told we might could sit at a table in doorway to the kitchen. I decided that would be a no , so we were walking out when the hostess said she might could seat us elsewhere ( the tables and booths were all empty) as we were seated I noticed several peeks ( and I do mean peeks) were from a person at front door . Missed a few pictures and took pictures too late. The eggplant fries are served with marinara. I don't typically like eggplant plant, but my mom does, so we got them. They were amazing and perfectly cooked. The salad was good. We also tried the spaghetti and meatballs and the lasagna. They were both decent. Almost every table around us ordered the garlic bread that had cheese on it. It looked amazing. We sat on the outside patio, which was nice. Inside looked nice too. One of the best restaurants I have eaten at in Memphis. The majority of the group at the table grew up with authentic Italian food in New Jersey and all were extremely pleased with everything we ate. Our favorites were the garlic bread ( perfect) Joey's rigatoni, shrimp penne with spicy marinara manicotti and chicken Marsala. And the cannolis were excellent Beverage service was a bit slow at their busiest time but did not disappoint. If you are not from downtown area you might miss this one. Spread the word, sooo goood! Parking is on the street but was not a problem when we went. I can see it being hard to park on the weekends. We had the eggplant fries for appetizer, so delicious. Lasagna and Spaghetti for entrees. Both were very good. Now for the "cons". All the inside tables were set up for two people. I guess if you have a party of more than 2. They will push tables together. But for 2 people with appetizers and drinks our table was crowded. Speaking of drinks, they don't serve iced tea..... in the south, this is a must. Bread is not served with your meal, you have to buy off the appetizer menu for $9. It was good but should be included with the meal price. Which leads me to the next topic, price. You get alot of food but entrees are $18-26 each, with no bread which I already told you. Lastly, the italian music was entirely too loud. I think with only a few patrons the sound could be lowered. All complaints aside I will be back to try more items. Absolutely loved this place. I went yesterday and I got the vodka rigatoni, chicken parm, bruschetta, & garlic bread. I literally went back today to get more. I could eat the garlic bread and rigatoni every day for the rest of my life. And the bruschetta was probably the best i've ever had. I ordered online and my food was ready exactly when they said it would be and the staff was so nice. First time visiting the restaurant. The bartender was not nice. Each time I asked her a question, she acted as though I was bothering her. The cocktail I ordered was missing ingredients. The appetizer was just ok.I felt unwelcome. There was absolutely no customer service.When I paid, I used my debit card she only gave me the merchant's copy to sign, and there was no customer receipt. When I asked her about the customer's copy, she responded in an unpleasant way that what should have been her receipt was mine. The time of my visit there was a total of five customers in the restaurant. I won't be visiting this restaurant again. read more

We have been to this restaurant probably a dozen times since it opened and had it catered at a rehearsal dinner. A couple highlights: 1. Extremely consistent. The food is good and the quality is the same every time we come. The garlic bread is almost too good in that I can't stop eating it. Vodka sauce is on point and chicken cooked well. The catering was AMAZING. Food was hot and tasted just like the restaurant. 2. Very good service. Staff is always professional and a joy to be around. Food comes out fairly fast. Indoor and outdoor seating. 3. Fairly pricey, but that's expected on the island. 4. Dishes are classic but made exceptionally well (Chicken parm, Marsala , lasagna. While visiting Memphis a few weeks ago, we decided to try this restaurant. It was in a beautiful area. We were able to get a table outside, and it was very nice & quiet, so the ambiance was definitely a plus; however the food was very mediocre. They did have a nice wine list, & the service was good. The very next night, we went to another Italian restaurant on the east side of town. It was wonderful. It really made Cocozza's feel "meh". read more

Absolutely delicious meal with great service. Definitely on the pricier side, but that's expected with fine Italian dining. We went during Apertivo (like Happy Hour) and tried the Seasonal Spritz 10/10 and Blanco Wine (10/10). The vodka rigatoni was outstanding with 3 huge meatballs! Caesar salad was also delicious and priced well at $6. My party also got the chicken parmesan which comes with a side of penne pasta (they call it pencil point), that was also great. How does an Italian restaurant not be welcoming, make you feel like they're doing you a favor to seat you and totally screw up bread. It was the worst bread I've ever had. They charged 35% tax and said that's TN not them. The food was just ok, pasta (Italian staple including bread was dismal, had better from a bottle). Don't waste you time, they will rip you off.
