Today visit was by my daughter to pick up a few sweet treats to celebrate Mother's Day. The restaurant is clean and the environment cozy, I want to buy a bit of everything they have. A first choice was a trio of mini cupcakes they smell delicious, a slice of Banana pudding cake, German chocolate cake and two cookies one with fruity pebbles the other chocolate chip. Cookies Chocolate Chip A buttery and chewy a standard chocolate chip I like very much. 7/10 Fruity Pebbles Tender sweet and chewy. 8/10 Mini Cupcakes Tender deliciousness. 8/10 I will update the taste and flavors. Banana Pudding Cake 10/10 Very moist creamy reminiscent of real banana pudding with a slightly tart taste. The frosting is rich and makes this cake a solid 10. I came across this delicious bakery that started out as a food truck through the app too good to go (Too good to go is an app that at the end of the day the business will have unsold items and they sell them as a surprise bag. You do not get to pick what items are in the bag. It's great that places do this to cut down on food waste. The bags are extremely discounted) This place has a private parking lot, which is great The staff is incredible The cookies are to die for They do have a pretty good selection, I absolutely loved this cake in a cup. It was vanilla cake with layers of Oreo frosting The cookies are huge and soft The atmosphere is your typical local cute bakery. It has a pink interior. Was looking for coffee in the area after dropping a friend off at the dentist next door, Coco's caught my eye. I ordered an iced coffee, it was very tasty! Service here was great. A very cute and inviting space. This small business had a film crew inside, they mentioned she was a featured business for black history month. How exciting! I ordered a red velvet cupcake and to my surprise received a cookie on the house for being a first time guest, I chose s'mores. This cookie was truly delightful! It was chewy and not overly sweet. I could taste all the layers in the cookie. Was a great afternoon pick me up. I ended up saving the cupcake to share with my partner and we absolutely loved how moist and delicious the cupcake was! Came for the cupcakes but my 4 year old ended up getting a cookie instead. Try the fruity pebbles cookie. It is soft and buttery. Service was prompt on Sunday at lunchtime. When I entered, the space was very clean, organized, and just very appealing to the eye. The aesthetic was very cute and definitely my vibe. Saw this business featured on Chanel 5 news and/or LA Unscripted during Long Beach Black Restaurant Week 2/2024 and finally got a chance to try it. The inside is a mix of pinks and browns. Clean inside and behind the counter. The items in the display case are labeled and organized well. The owner was friendly and shared her story of opening a bakery. I ordered a slice of German Chocolate Cake and also got a FREE cookie after I checked-in on Yelp! (I chose Chocolate Chip with nuts). Both were good but the cookie was my favorite of the two. The desserts were amazing. I got the strawberry lemonade cake slice, the carrot cake up cake, and the chocolate chip walnut cookie. All of them were extremely moist and not crazy sweet. The strawberry lemonade cake had a nice flavor of strawberry and cream cheese frosting I believe. The cupcake also had a cream cheese frosting I believe and had raisins (which I personally love). The cookies were a really good size and were set up just enough but not too crunchy. I ate a portion of each of them the day I bought them and then kept them in the fridge. The defitneky were good the second day and held up, but of course are best eaten when you get them. The inside of the store was very clean and tidy. The display was nicely organized with signs showing what everything was. They had a really good variety on hand. The woman helping me I believe was the owner and was very kind. She asked if I wanted packaging all together or separate. She also asked if I wanted to join their loyalty program. She asked how I heard about them and I got to talking a little with her. Originally I ordered a 6 inch lemon cake online which was extremely simple, a week in advance of my daughter's birthday. 3 days before I decided it would work better to have an 8 inch cake and change the flavor to strawberry. They were very accommodating to my request and charged only an additional $15. I was sent the invoice via email and paid the difference. Went here to place an order for a birthday cake for this weekend. Unfortunately for me, they were fully booked and advised booking earlier. The young lady was vey friendly and professional and everything looked/smelled delicious and the store was very clean. Purchased a peach cobbler for the hubby and a red velvet cake for myself and mom to share. If i cannot find them, i drag my husband to drive almost an hour to get cupcakes at this location. IT IS THAT AMAZING OMG. Additionally, they have their brick & mortar open with limited hours Wed-Sun. My friend and I tried their double chocolate and Chocolate Oreo cupcakes. The cake was nice and moist for both cupcakes though I could have had a dose more flavor to it--- but the frosting!!! The frosting on both was BOMB. I love my frosting to be nice and sugary, and then fit the bill for my cupcake choosing. These aren't big cupcakes and in my perfect world, Wayne Szalinski would use his growth machine like this is a sequel. I was scrolling through TikTok and came across Coco's account showing a day of... video. I was impressed with how clean the kitchen is and how the owner kept washing her hands and working efficiently. Then the featured cakes that were being cut into slices looked so pillowy soft and pretty. I checked to see where they were located and found that they were in Lakewood!! Hooray!! I have been craving desserts and this was a sign for me to get some stat! Drove 20 minutes into a spacious plaza and Coco's was easy to find. I bought strawberry cake cup($6), red velvet slice($7), and peach cobbler($9). I was offered strawberry toppings on the cake cup and I said yes please! I drove home as soon as I could so I can dig into them! The strawberry cake cup was two layers of strawberry cake crumbs and frosting. It was topped with something like a strawberry compote. I loved my first bite. The frosting had a buttery almost condensed milk flavor to it. It was gooey but not too sticky. The cake was dense and delicious. The red velvet cake was also delicious. It had soft dense texture and not overly sweet which I love! The peach cobbler... wow... when I put my spoon into it the crust was so tender. The flavors of nutmeg and cinnamon elevated the flavor to another level. I noticed that the goods were not refrigerated and they were so fresh flavors. What can I say? These cupcakes are tiny but mighty! Their small size is deceiving in that it had me thinking, "Aw....I could have made these at home." BUT, it was love at first bite! These cupcakes were rich with flavor, super moist, and perfectly complimented by the buttercream frosting. We indulged while waiting for our main course from the neighboring truck to be ready. Out of curiosity I walked into the business because I had a small craving for sweets. I saw right away their displays of cupcakes, cake, and cookies. Carrot cake is my favorite, so I definitely had to grab the cupcake. I believe the person that helped me was the business owner and she was really sweet. I recently found the store via Yelp and today was at the truck chatting with the very sweet and beautiful owner herself. She really looks quite too young to be running her own business. I think she'll be busy with multiple shops soon. My children loved the purchase we purchased about 2 months ago. The ride home was short but they devoured the cupcakes.
