If you are looking for authentic Chinese food, you don't want to miss out this spot. This place reminds me of my college memories. I would order takeout from here after class. Good old time~ tomato with beef stew was one of my favorite dishes. The sauce was very flavorful and perfect to eat with rice. Fish filet was tender and not too spicy. Shredded potato texture was spot on and well-seasoned.

Stopped by Coco's near my kids' apartment. Read about their positive reviews so I had to try. Loved that they had pork in garlic sauce and Szechuan shrimp. The pork in garlic sauce had all of the right ingredients I love about the dish. Thinly sliced pork, shredded bamboo, cloud ear and of course garlic sauce. I asked them to make it spicy. That was my error. It was very spicy and it took away from the dish. Next time just a tad spicy. The Szechuan shrimp was good and tasty as well. Probably a bit too much sliced onion for my test but it was all right. Can't wait to try other dishes on the menu.

If I was just rating on the food, this would be a 10 out of five. Whenever I'm spending the day at OSU, I make sure to stop here, even if it's just for take out. I've tried multiple items, but my favorite is the classic Tofu Pad Thai and the crab Rangoon. The portion size is huge, even with lunch sizes. The ambiance is typical of a college-town Chinese restaurant, but maybe a little better. The last couple of times I've been there, the soda machine hasn't had the carbonation, the drinks weren't good. The service is quick, friendly, and makes great for a fast lunch. Ordering ahead is available. Hopefully, you enjoy as much as I do!

I'm in love with the Coco! this restaurant, has a lot of class very clean restaurant very friendly expedient service and very friendly many different options. very nice place to sit down and eat. Parking lot is very accessible, and if you order to go orders they have a good system of making sure it goes to the correct driver, a really great place to go to if you like authentic Chinese food this is the place to go to if you like poor quality this is not the place to go..

Food is always amazing, we got the fad thai and Mongolian beef. The spicy chili oil dumplings are always a favorite!

Cocos is one of the my go to Chinese places since they offer a wide variety of really authentic Chinese dishes. However, with a wide selection, knowing what to pick is key and I chose to talk about the 3 dishes that I got. Braised pork belly: the pork belly was well cooked and flavourful. A classic dish that has great balance of meat and fat. I would have braised it a smidge longer to get more flavour into the pork but it is still a very well made dish. Definitely a must try if you have not. Dan Dan noodles: my expectations of Dan Dan noodles is a noodles dish with minced meat on. Top but their take was noodles with chili oil. Definitely interesting. Sweet and sour pork ribs: honestly, they did a decent job at balancing the sweet and sour profile but I would have fried the ribs instead of braising it as it was lacking a little crunch but a great dish to whet your appetite nonetheless

Ordered online on a Wednesday around 7 pm. Very easy system to order online. The food was ready in ~15 minutes. The menu was very large and had many options. The prices were pretty reasonable. The portions were very large! I was able to have many meals out of my order of cashew chicken. The sauce and chicken were very good. My meal was ~$13. Overall a good takeout experience!

Fave go to Chinese place in the city can't go wrong with Mongolian beef and some dumplings

Beef chow fun - not very good

I would rate this restaurant 2.5 stars. I believe that when a restaurant has a vast selection of dishes of different nationalities, the dishes are generally just average. And this restaurant fits that generalization. We ordered spicy fish in chili oil, cantonese beef chow fun and Singapore fried noodle. The beef chow fun was the worst dish out of the order. The beef was marinated kind of funny and I couldn't pin point the issue. The fun was mushy. The flavor overall was very off. The Singapore fried noodle with shrimps was rather bland. At least the noodle was not mushy. It just lacked curry flavor and was not spicy at all. The shrimps were decent size but were overcooked. The spicy fish in chili oil was the best choice. It was not very spicy but I'm okayed with that. It is by far the best dish out of three. There were less fish fillets than what I'm used to but the price was also cheaper than other restaurants.

Definitely a Szechuan-style carryout place a tad west of campus, you get good authentic Chinese at a reasonable price. Comfortably fed 4 people with 3 large portion dishes. We ordered 2 southern Chinese staples: beef chow fun (fried wide rice noodle) and Singapore fried rice noodle w/shrimp. They were ok with ample meat, but the flavors were a bit weak. The chow fun was slightly mushy and the Singapore noodle needed a bit more curry flavor and spice. Still, they were tasty and large. The best dish was the Szechuan chili fish bowl, a truly spiced up tilapia entree with plenty of sauce. Make sure you have plenty of rice to lap up all the good chili sauce. As Szechuan style is Coco's specialty, it makes sense that this dish shines amongst the 3 we ordered. They also have on their menu intestines, tripe, pigs feet, frog legs if you wanna be really authentic and adventurous. Might be worthwhile if you're dining with international students. Service was prompt (carryout ready in under 15 minutes) and remarkably, the fortune were fresh and crispy. Clean and spartan dining area if you wanna eat there.

When I walked in the atmosphere was great, I could smell good food and heard conversations. There's a large area with large round tables to right and to the left are booths and almost all of them were full. The menu was a mix of Americanized Chinese, traditional Chinese and included Dim Sum as well. There were a number of dishes we didn't know much about and there were dishes being enjoyed by other customers that looked delicious. The wait staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and/or show us on the menu what someone was eating. They took very good care of us and shared the tasks of bringing our food, filling water, and just checking in. Now the food. The food came out very quickly! We all received a well filled bowl of rice. First out was the string beans, perfectly cooked, not droopy, and the flavors of garlic and hot peppers. Even though the peppers were there the heat was not overpowering at all. Next was the shredded pork with garlic sauce. The textures of the pork and bamboo shoots were a nice contrast and the sauce was perfectly balanced and craveable. The special grilled lamb, I was told, was some of the best in the city. It was tender and well spiced. Even when he said he was full he just couldn't stop eating it. For the dim sum order we got the shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, and sesame balls and they brought a soy sauce and a chili oil with them. The shrimp dumplings were tender but the dough was pretty sticky. I think this is normal and they were tasty with some of the oil on them. The scallion pancakes were very thin and gummy, this is the only thing we ordered that I would not get again. The soup dumplings were very small but packed a lot of flavor. The dough did stick together a bit so unfortunately some of the soup did leak out. The sesame balls were the hit and we're just the right amount of sweetness that we considered them desert. They were large, at least 2" in size, with a wonderful sesame seed covered exterior and a soft, sweet center. Chuan Jiang Hao Zi is a wonderful somewhat hidden gem. If you want traditional Chinese cuisine including all the different offal they have it and I would totally try it here over anyone else if I was brave enough. Portions were a good size for the price. I highly recommend checking them out!

We were greeted and told to sit wherever we like. We were the only patrons at this time. With it being our first time, we took awhile to go thru the menu. So many choices to choose from and so many appealing entrees. We ended up getting the diving chicken and braised lamb stretch noodle accompanied by some chicken wings to try. My diving chicken blew my socks off. It was beautifully presented, aromatic, and warm. It was accompanied by white rice. With Plenty of tasty marinated chicken, bok choy, green onions and bean sprouts in a semi spicy broth. Super fulfilling and a nice portion. I shared my bowl with a hungry 6 year old and still had leftovers! Fiance got the braised lamb and stretch noodles, he admitted he had no clue what he was getting or what to expect. Nevertheless he received a nice hearty bowl of lamb and hand stretch noodle in a nice and hot lamb broth. Also accompanied by white rice. He finished majority of his bowl only leaving some broth behind. We both tried each others and both agreed on the diving chicken having a better taste but I think it's because it's spicier. The chicken wings were on the dry side but they were still tasty and completely devoured. Service was standard and immediate. I didn't see a kids menu. Buy we Really enjoyed the food.
