I came here 4 times when in town for a conference, as this way super conveniently located to the conference center (Menino). It's open 7am-10pm daily, is always seemingly busy but always very efficient and fast to deliver orders, and has a huge amount of comfortable seating. First visit: I tried the vegan breakfast burrito ($12), a nicely designed burrito with tofu, potato, spinach, roasted red peppers, vegan cheese, and mushrooms, served with salsa on the side. Very solid burrito. The Spanish burrito I tried another day--which came with vegan meatballs of some sort--was even better. Second visit: I got an açai bowl ($9 for the small size; $12 for regular), and added vegan protein powder ($2) blended in. It came with açai blended with almond milk, banana, strawberries, blueberries, and granola. Real good and plentiful even for the small size. Third visit: just ordered a bagel with vegan cream cheese that had tomato in it, and added some spinach on top ($5.50 total). Very generous spinach portion (for $0.50!), well-toasted bagel, and an appropriate amount of cream cheese. Very tasty. Moreover, each time I visited, I ordered a double espresso ($3.50), which was excellent. Proper espresso, deep body, strong, served with sparkling water and a piece of dark chocolate.

For takeout, I got a mango mousse (nicely tart), a crème brûlée kouign-amann, and a rose raspberry bowtie. Everything tasted delicious--just the right amount of sweetness, not overly sweet at all. On the second day, I ordered takeout again: an almond croissant, a rocket pop pain suisse, and the crème brûlée kouign-amann once more. Anne was polite, super friendly, and very helpful with menu recommendations. On the first day when I ordered takeout, Anne even kept the pastries chilled for me because I couldn't walk around the area carrying them in the intense heat without them spoiling before I reached the hotel. Truly the best and most helpful service!

First of all, the pastry case just beautifully displays all the baked goods. It's quite a sight to see! I love the variety and flavors, very unique. I ordered a chai with oat milk (it's very light in flavor) and got a bialy. Honestly I had not had a bialy in over 25+ years... and was surprised to see it in the case and I had to have it. A corn + cheddar bialy. It did NOT disappoint. I also got london fog with oat milk previously, also very nice, but this place was soooo good we had to come back. My daughter loves pop tarts so when she saw it in the case, she got a blueberry pop tart and said it was very flakey and the jam was very jamful. It was the-last-one, even had the sign stuck in it!! She also got the french toast (2 slices) with kid's milk and said it was the best french toast she's ever had. My sis got a chocolate pain suisse, which I had never seen before. It's basically brioche filled with pastry cream and chocolate. It looked delicious and with coffee, my sis ate the whole thing up. All in all, this place has so much delicious eats.. I can understand if you live here, you could come every morning and still not get to everything in the pastry case! Definitely be back if we're in the Boston area again.

The coffee is divine, it's real freaking coffee done right and not to sound like a coffee snob, but I know good coffee. There was one woman (VERY young) making drinks & she was fast. Right after other guy took my order, the "barista" left to back room. Gone for ten minutes. Bottom line was he was trying to be funny... running around & flirting w coworker (still not making drinks). Get back to the orders!!! He was talking to himself, walking in circles. It was nuts.... It took 18 minutes for him to make a 4oz espresso martini. He went to put it in a tiny wine glass & asked for a martini glass. The kids looked at each other & started arguing w me over the type of glasses they were. (Yeah, I'm particular)... telling me the martini glass was a "cocktail" glass and this wine glass was for martinis . He listened & gave me the correct glass. At one point, the girl said to the guy 'Make her drink & get her outta my face' Can you imagine?? If I would not have been called racist, I woulda kicked her a$$! WTH? I have to say the crazy guy DID make a good martini!!! What a mess!! Room is nice, loud & crowded... like a coffee shop.... But service, HELL no!

We arrived just as the restaurant was opening and were surprised to see how busy it already was at 7:00 a.m.! The café had a charming, distinctly French atmosphere, reminiscent of cafés we've visited in France, right down to hearing patrons chatting in French. It certainly added to the ambiance! Since we arrived early, we were seated immediately at a cute window table, perfect for watching the city come to life. Over the next few days, we walked past several times and noticed people lining up for tables, so we were especially glad we had beaten the crowds. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiter was attentive and efficient, bringing water promptly, taking our order quickly, and delivering our food in what felt like no time at all. We ordered lattes, French toast, and a Croque Madame. The French toast came topped with fresh blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and banana slices. While it was a satisfying breakfast, the dish itself was fairly ordinary. I would have preferred brioche-style French toast for a richer texture, and the maple syrup was already poured over the top. Having it served on the side would have been a nice touch, allowing guests to control the amount. I also wasn't entirely sure the syrup was pure maple syrup. The Croque Madame was enjoyable as well, though neither dish was particularly memorable. Overall, Café Bonjour is a great spot for its convenient location, charming French café atmosphere, and friendly, efficient service. While the food was good enough for breakfast, it wasn't necessarily the highlight of our visit. I would come back again to try their pastries, or crêpes. I'd recommend arriving early to avoid the lines and enjoy a relaxed start to your day exploring Boston!
