It it seriously one of the most underrated small businesses in Downey and my heart sank when the owner was discussing their hours surrounding the COVID-19 rules and regulations. Sometimes I just go here to escape. Other times I go here for special items... This is my go-to for incense. Incense holders. Candles. Candle holders. Wood-carved masks (the last one I bought was apparently made in Kenya). Jewelry. Figurines. Hanging decor. T-shirts and other clothes. Amethyst (pieces that fit in your hand). Other crystals and stones. Gifts that are beautiful and unique - not to mention for different religions. I've been coming here since 2017. Sure, you might see some of the same items from back then, but many of his items rotate and seem to sell fast too. I just love this place. I love the people who work here too. Store owner Jesse goes out of his way to help you feel comfortable in his store and answer any questions you may have. I've visited the store twice now and have learned so much. I mentioned that I needed help sleeping. Jesse recommended lavender, oil essence and incense. I opted for only the first two. No sales pressure from Jesse. I followed the instructions to make a potpourri with the lavender and run the oil essence on my temples before bed. I have to say that I had the best sleep in such a long time. One of my favorite stores to go to especially if I'm looking for a unique gift. The owner is one of the nicest people I've ever met and great to talk to. Their very knowledgeable about what they have in the store and seem to be pretty knowledgeable about different cultures and spiritualities in general. I've lived a few blocks from this establishment for almost 10 years. My husband and daughter often wandered in the shop to look through its unique items. They would always come home with incense or beads or candles. I enjoyed the candles very much especially when I found out they would cleanse the energy in our place. On one particular occasion I felt drained and emotional and stressed. Something made me walk into the shop. I approached the counter and asked for help. Jesse was so warm and kind and soft spoken. Really interesting place (and i say that in the best possible way!). You walk into this hole in the wall next to the 98 cent store and the laundromat and it exceeds all expectations. They sell all variates of creepy, hippie, oddball stuff: hand made jewelry, incense, bags, sculptures, fountains, toys, prayer mats, and things that look like they belong in a voodoo ritual. I always see the same man behind the counter making jewelry. I don't know about the other staff but this guy is always nice and easy to talk to. read more
