Where do I start?? This afternoon, my daughter showed me the corsages she bought from a different flower shop for my granddaughters' first Father/Daughter dance this evening. She was clearly sad and disappointed by the purchase. I took a look at them and they were horrible! I quickly got in my car and stopped by this little flower shop next to Pina Pizza and explained the situation. The lady who took care of me quickly went into action and said she would make corsages for my granddaughters right away. Oh my goodness. She was so lovely about it and made me so happy knowing that I (granny) could save the day!!! And on top of it, the price she charged was well below what my daughter paid for the first set she bought from the other florist. Nice place. Went in to pick up a graduation lei and left with two money leis and a beautiful lavender fresh flower lei. The owner is no nonsense type of guy. The flowers on display and arrangements were very pretty and there's a lot of graduation plushies. There is a word of warning though: if you plan to buy a money lei he will want the amount of cash on the lei to be paid back in cash. So let's say a lei has 8 one dollar bills, he will want 8 dollars in cash that goes towards the total purchase price. His reasoning is that he can't charge on a card in exchange for something in cash. I took his word for it since I never bought a cash lei. I did have to drive to the bank though and return which kind of sucked. All in all a very nice transaction and a beautiful set of leis. I'm sure my daughter will love them. read more

Downey Chapel Florist recently delivered (2/10/16) a candy/balloon bouquet to our daughters. My dad, who wants/has nothing to do with the internet, went to his favorite florist where he lives in New Mexico. He told them what he wanted - to send a bouquet to his grand babies in California. While I'm unsure how the rest of the story pieces together, Downey Chapel Florist was eventually chosen to create a delightful Valentine's candy arrangement with two heart balloons. They spelled everything on the envelope/card correctly. The delivery guy was nice. Typing that makes me wonder if there has ever been a rude "arrangement" delivery person. ***a cartoon idea in the making...*** Most of the candy was all fresh. Except for a yellow bag of "Blenders" Skittles. It expired August 2012. The game on the back ended on 9/5/11. The heart lollipop expired in September 2015. Pah! Some of the other candy bars' expiration dates just happened to be glued over where the sticks held them. It is for this reason that I retracted an earlier 5-star review. If I know my dad, and I know him pretty well, he will probably request this florist for other occasions. I'm not going to lie to him if he asks me about the candy, but I'm also not going to complain. I have never been so disappointed in a flower purchase. The almost $90 arrangement I purchased for my mom was a miniature of what was displayed on their website. I paid extra for the premium upgrade only to find they would add the mini 1 inch roses in their pitiful attempt to make it seem it was upgraded. The vase was tiny, smaller than a water bottle. Their website is a joke. They display a beautiful standard size arrangement and what they deliver is way smaller. They only use miniature flowers so do not waste your money and take your business elsewhere!! read more
