A friend and I were looking for a refreshing juice after a day of pampering in the area, and this cute spot was perfect! We loved our delicious snacks, and the gluten-free options were top-notch. Service was great. Highly recommend! read more

Got takeout from Coconut Thai for dinner. Super delicious and generous portions. I am a Tom yum soup snob and I thought it was so good! I ordered hot and it was hot but not blow my lid. My MIL ordered green curry-mild- and felt it had too much of kick. So recommend to err on the side of less spicy when ordering. She also was disappointed it didn't have eggplant when it was supposed toS Cream cheese wontons: small but plump. Great dipping sauce. Spring rolls: quite good! Shrimp and ground pork. Great peanut dipping sauce. Drunken noodles with pork: Not too greasy as they sometimes can be. Well seasoned. All said, would definitely do takeout again from Coconut Thai. Only downside was 75 minute wait- not a last minute deal. read more

Lets start of with the best part. Food is Great. Very flavorful and plentiful. If your looking for good - great service do not go here. Our service was painfully slow. What should have taken about 60 - 80 minutes took 120 plus. Restaurant is nice an clean. Parking may be tricky but there is a ramp nearby. read more

Starting with the food, they prepare some very good Thai food. Really enjoyed the stir fried w/ basil dish, along with their stir fried cashew dish. Had one of their curry dishes, along with papaya salad, as well, which were both good, but not great. We had the impression that they offered more vegan options, but on the menu, really only a couple of items (i.e. edamame) marked as vegan. So if someone is vegan, this may not be the best place for dining options. But the food was definitely a 4 star, and the service was also very good. Our server took good care of us, checking on us frequently, and food came out pretty quickly. Will definitely keep this in mind for future visits to the area, but we'll probably look for another place with better vegan options. Just a personal preference. read more

Hands down the best Thai food I've ever had. I love this restaurants food and overall atmosphere. We've dined in and done takeout from here many times and we keep coming back for more. It is fresh and has the perfect level of spice. For apps, the chicken satay has a great peanut sauce to dip in with chicken that is perfectly marinated. The fresh rolls are a great vegetarian starter. Gyoza never disappoints and have a perfect sear when you dine in. For entrees, the Panang curry is the best I've ever had. Creamy, spicy and the perfect mix of chicken and veggies. This is what we keep coming back for. The basil rice and the drunken noodles round off our go to order and offer great options for everyone. Service is quick for dine in and take out. read more

Dang...I have been bragging about this place to my coworker and we went today for a Monday noon lunch. We encountered super awkward service. I really was embarrassed that I brought her here other than the fact that the food at this place thankfully trumped the strange service today. We walked in at 12 noon and there was no one there at the counter to welcome us and the party of three that walked in just in front of us. We waited as we heard voices from the kitchen...finally got seated but felt like we were a bit of an inconvenience to them. Eventually we got "service" that was super cold and like pulling teeth... Really? Please fake being happy serving me. Very dissapointing, I would rather do take-out next time so I don't leave depressed from expecting too much from your servers on a beautiful spring day.. you rather ruined it. read more

First off I want to state this review is based on DoorDash Delivery of Coconut Thai. For that reason this review will only focus on the taste of the dishes as the presentation and decor would skewed by my wife's high level of skill in those departments. :) Fresh spring rolls get a 3 out of 5 stars as they are good sized but flavor was lacking and fully depended on the sauce. I personally think to much lettuce and could use some mint. Tom Yum Soup with pork gets a 5 out of 5 stars from my wife as it tasted great and cleared her sinuses as she hoped. On my taste test I would agree with her as the flavor and spice level was balanced. I chose the Tom Kha Soup as always and it did not disappoint. I love the rich coconut flavor with the highest level of spice. Severed with rice there is nothing better. 5 out of 5 stars without question. Again this post is based off take out order only and pictures are not representative of dine in service. read more

Very nice location near 50th & France with a swanky interior to match. Service was quick and attentive, while the food was also very good. On this visit, I tried both the Thai Spring Rolls and Squash Curry with Chicken. Neither was a letdown, and the curry was a really nice dish with a little sweet and a little heat. Needless to say, I came away very impressed with Coconut Thai and would definitely return. read more

I've been craving Thai for quite some time since relocating to the cities and for one reason or another, kept putting it off... until now . Coconut Thai has been on the list due to their close proximity. They're within the Edina 50th and France shopping complex which provides ample parking opportunities for easy access. Coming in on a Thursday I was surprised to see how much take out volume they were doing. It was crazy but a good sign. The staff was extremely kind, efficient and attentive. We were sat quickly and checked on in frequent but appropriate intervals (fantastic service). We started with an order of the fried cream cheese wontons which had a light but pleasant crispness and all around great flavor. From there I had the Stir Fried Fresh Young Ginger with chicken. Everything I've been wanting. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection. There was a slight bit of bite from the spice but nothing alarming. I don't know why I took so long to come here, and it won't be long before I return. The portion was large enough to warrant a take home box for lunch the next day but I'll definitely be back asap. Highly recommend checking them out! read more

Came in for dinner during a busy service. We were served quickly. However, not the biggest fan of the food. In particularly, the meat was dry and hard. The chicken pad thai barely had any chicken, and was mostly noodles. However, the egg rolls are great. Overall, not worth the money. read more

This was the second time I've been to Coconut Thai for dinner. We started with the fresh Thai spring rolls with tofu as an appetizer. The dipping sauce is the real winner here! As my main, I had the young ginger stir fry with chicken while my companions each chose a different curry. All entrees were huge! I'd say enough for two full meals and definitely splitable! I also appreciate how much rice they give you. The young ginger stir fry had a nice ratio of protein to veggies. The sauce was delicious - I wish there was more of it! There was a big rush of people at the peak of dinner time but food came out quickly. read more

We were craving Thai food, but our go-to spot was closed, so we swung in to Coconut Thai for some Sunday evening sustenance. The whole experience was just about as average as it gets. The restaurant itself is well-decorated with lots of seating! We were seated right away when we arrived, but didn't get service for about 10 minutes after we were seated. The service was cold, rushed, and not welcoming. We had to remind our server to bring us water. I understand being overwhelmed, but I don't find an excuse not to make the most of the short time you have with each table. Food was only okay, and can definitely find better Thai food elsewhere in the Twin Cities, for much better prices. We started with the Thai Pork egg rolls, which were the best item we had. I had the Panang Curry for my entree, and overall the flavor was too subtle and diluted and the chicken was dry and tough. Serving size was alright for the price. If you're in the 50th and France neighborhood, there's definitely better options, but if you are craving Thai, this spot can suffice! read more

Definitely one of the better Thai places we've been to. Easy parking, clean and modern on the inside and good flavor and spice. Beef Laab was the best we've had since Taste of Thailand. Sticky rice came wrapped in plastic. Curry puffs were new to us, potato filling in fried wonton wrap. Very good. Spring rolls were good, nothing extraordinary. They did accommodate dishes to be made vegan for us Would definitely go back again! read more

Both of the dishes we ordered smelled slightly off. The odor, taste, and texture were not like any Thai food I've had. I took a few bites and couldn't eat more. The sweetness in the dish was overpowering compared to the same dish at other Thai places. Normally Thai food has nice, complex flavor profiles, but all I could taste was sweetness and fishiness (and it wasn't a fish dish). That said, the person I was with ate her food, and seemed to think it was good (hence not 1 star). read more

This is my favorite Thai restaurant I've tried in Minnesota. Maybe it's the combination of store interior and food, but this place has a hold on me. I tried the drunken noodles and the green curry. I really liked that both items came with a substantial amount of veggie! Many places I've been to skimp on the veggies, so this was a happy surprise. The flavor and texture of the noodles was just right for me. Think it is common for some of the really authentic restaurants to not focus on presentation as much, but this place manages to balance both being a modern restaurant and providing great food. read more

I had to give this place another try because the Pad Thai was not a winner, but OMG go with the Drunken Noodles! I ordered medium spice and I thought it was perfect because it had heat but wasn't overbearing. The veggies tasted fresh and were cooked to perfection and soooo much yummy chicken :) I have to say though, the wontons were the best I've ever had and this in part had to do with the sauce that comes with it. I don't know what's in that crack sauce but it's the perfect cream cheese wonton pairing. Overall I have to say this dish/appetizer gets 5 stars from me, I'll definitely be trying this again! read more

Coconut Thai had some of the best pineapple fried rice I've had in my entire life. Served in a hollowed out half pineapple, this dish tasted as beautiful as it looked. The portion was huge, the amount of chicken and pineapple was quite generous and the rice was cooked just the perfect amount. I think this is a must order dish in the greater Twin Cities and highly recommend making the drive out to Edina for this. Parking can be confusing so I recommend using the garage by the Lunds and Byerlys across the street (free). read more

"We have visited this restaurant many times and usually enjoy the food, but yesterday's experience was incredibly disappointing. Our order was partially lost, leaving half the table waiting while others finished their meal. When the Panang curry finally arrived 15 minutes later, the quality was poor. To make matters worse, when we shared our feedback, the staff was dismissive, simply telling us to 'order something else next time.' It's sad to see the service and quality slip at a place we used to love." read more

Really good! Got the panang curry. Really tasty. Food came quickly. Staff was friendly. Will be back.

Located in a nice area. It has easy access to free parking in the ramps near by. That's a big plus compared to uptown. The restaurant was bright, spacious and beautiful. Very modern! They had a good menu and everything was plated beautifully. We enjoyed it but it was kind of Americanized. It didn't have the true bold Thai flavors we were looking for. read more

Iced coffee was pretty good with just the right amount of sweetness. The curry was alright but I honestly didn't like the taste/texture of the tofu I got very much. Potatoes in the curry had a slightly weird taste too. Service was pretty slow (they were busy and maybe under-staffed) and even getting the waitress to take our credit cards took a long time. I always feel a bit disgruntled when the tip is automatically added, especially since it was 18%. Also, if you're not looking at the receipt closely it's not super obvious that gratuity is included as they have an "additional tip" blank. I always tip but... it's the principle of the thing.... read more

Coconut Thai is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. You will get fantastic food for great value. I went twice to Coconut Thai - Edina because after trying the Spinach Rama Curry for the first time on a lunch date with friends, I still crave it. Currently one of my favorite meals here as it has a good amount of vegetables, but you get the flavorful curry with the peanut crunch at the top. I also got the Wonton soup to start the meal, and I liked how light the soup was. The service here is always excellent. The last two times I went during lunchtime on the weekend, the ambiance was quiet, and they helped us pretty fast, even when the establishment was full. There are multiple parking garages right next to the restaurant, and they are hard to see, so make sure you drive slowly looking for them. They are also free. read more

I've been coming here for three years because I like the way the food tastes, and the service is always great. Unfortunately, every single time I eat here I leave with intense stomach pain. And I mean every time. It has never not happened. That can't be coincidence--I dine out often, and don't experience this at other restaurants. I thought maybe it was the spice level. No. I order food as spicy as I can get it from other Thai restaurants; Indian, Mexican, and Caribbean restaurants. I've always ate spicy food without issue. Then I thought maybe I eat too much? But even ordering less food, or having them box up half my meal before I'm satisfied, the stomach bloat and pain are unbearable here. I suspect they use MSG. Not sure what it is, but I've accepted the fact that I can't eat here. read more

under basic. We ordered - Veg. Egg Rolls $8/2 - Shrimp - Spring Rolls $9/2 - Pork - Spring Rolls $9/2 - Veg. Stir-Fry w Chicken $16 - Veg. Stir-Fry w Beef $17 This was our first time eating here. We ordered takeout. First ,the spring rolls were a little different , the way the menu read it sounded like they had both, shrimp and pork combined - NOPE, that was two separate orders (we wanted one) every other place I've eaten they had both shrimp and pork. They were huge - and nothing special. Wouldn't order again. The Veg. Egg Rolls were 99% Cabbage and a bit UNDER cooked (raw cabbage = bitter) Wouldn't order again. Veg. Stir-Fry (added Chicken) The chicken was "pre-made separately" - you can tell - the chicken had ZERO FLAVOR -or- seasoning (not even black pepper). The Veggies Looked Fresh & bright but the sauce was thin, more like a "watery" chow mein sauce made with sugar-water and garlic (NO salt/pepper -or- seasoning). NOPE! - won't order again. Veg. Stir-Fry (added Beef) The beef was TUFF & GREY - had to use a knife. Could not be chewed. The Sauce was the same as the chicken, a "watery" chow mein sauce made with sugar-water and garlic (no color - no salt no pepper -or- kick). Won't order again! The Rice - oh boy - the rice... Not Fresh - tasted hard and stale - the grains were small and broken. (maybe Basmati?) (short grain?) Gezuss, "just serve Jasmine Rice." We all know Asian Food tastes better with jasmine. Maybe we will try one more time - and maybe go in another menu direction - curry? uhh? - After that we WILL gladly move on. I don't understand - good restaurant food at a fair price is becoming almost impossible to find. Either you pay thru the nose for ok food -or- you suffer... "Better yet - let's cook at home." Ps the next day left-overs were even worse - we threw it out!! read more

I am so frustrated with Coconut Thai in Edina. I order take out about 3-4 times per month. I called in on Friday and shared that my chicken in the Green Curry was leathery and tough. They did not want to help me. I asked to speak to the manager. Apple, the Manager, called me back and she also argued that the chicken met their kitchen standards. She checked with the chef and said the chicken can stay out for 4 hours. To me, that was not the point. The point was, my food was bad. They were mean and argumentative and made me feel like my complaint was my fault. I will not be going there again. Yesterday, I ordered from Naviya. It was yummy, tastier, fresher and the chicken was tender! As it should be. I am perplexed by bad customer service. I guess my best message is to take my business elsewhere. read more

I decided to write a review since this is our 2nd time at this restaurant. We went there for quick dinner after work and it was not disappointed. Love the Tom Kha Soup with all richness of coconut. I stopped in for a late lunch by myself. The restaurant was not full by any means given the time. Curry Puffs: For a appetizer I ordered the curry puffs. The filling was dense (potato) but the curry flavor was not as present and I was hoping. The cucumber relish was super sweet. Had the curry been stronger the balance would have been better. Pad See Ew: I ordered pad see ew with chicken and found it was not has spicy or flavorful as I have found at other places. It was good, but just not my favorite. Overall, this place was ok, but not amazing and making me want to come back and try it again. read more

I love the food! I was feeling kinda blue and curry is my go to pick me up. The Penang curry chicken did not disappoint. The cheese puffs and Thai iced tea were great too. Service was a little slow, maybe they were understaffed. It's somewhat more expensive, but not outrageous: $50 for two people. A little bit my fault as I didn't stick to the lunch menu.
