A friend of mine introduced me to Khao Hom Thai during covid and I have been hooked ever since. I love Thai food as a whole, but I think Khao Hom Thai is better than most. They have this green sauce (I think it's cilantro-based) that you can put on everything, but it's so good that we just put it on sticky rice. I love the green curry, the cream cheese wontons, egg rolls, and mango sticky rice. The chicken satay is so good that my picky eater ate the entire appetizer by himself. Parking can be tough as it's street parking (time to practice your parallel parking). The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Good prices for the portion of food you get! Server was friendly and gave me extra white rice for my laab. Chicken laab may be better with a curry dish because eating that alone with white rice tasted a bit dry. Massaman curry was tasty with generous amount of vegetables and meat. Parked in the alley and walked in like we are regulars and were met by a friendly guy who showed us to our table. I ordered Thai iced coffee and fresh spring rolls to start and then TomYum Ga. Had a Thom Yum or Kha last year that was sooo good, but I could not remember where I got it from. I've been searching for it for quite a while and I finally found it!!! We ordered the Thom Yum Po-Tak with shrimp, Pad Thai with chicken, Spring Rolls with pork, and veggie Egg Rolls. The Spring Rolls are HUGE and have a yummy peanut sweet & sour sauce. The Egg Rolls were so addictive with their slightly spicy sauce, I should've placed a double order! The Pad Thai was tasty, but the Thom Yum Po-Tak is where it's at!!! This place is amazing! We discovered it about 1-2 months ago and have been there about 4-5 times since then. The service is so friendly and the food is delicious! By the third time we went there they recognised us and treated us like family. We went there today with my father, who is elderly and handicapped, and the gentleman who was hosting was so kind and helpful and made sure my dad was taken care of. He even came out of the restaurant to help my dad out of the car before he knew we were going to that restaurant, and then helped him when we were leaving as well. Service is kind and friendly, food comes out pretty fast and is piping hot, and there is a lot of food! I always end up with lots of leftovers. The restaurant itself is not very fancy, very long but narrow, with about 15ish tables. Most of their business seems to be takeout orders. Sorry, no pictures, I didn't decide to write this review until after we left. Maybe I will add some next time we go, because we will be back pretty often. read more

Their best seller Drunken Noodles didn't have that traditional basil, garlic, and spicy flavored sauce. Sadly it was bland. Pad Thai was more of a sweet tomato flavor vs the known sweet and sour, nuttier taste. Both orders were requested to be spicy, they just included 2 small containers of chili oil. I order take out from this place quite often, but have never actually been to their establishment. My order has always been correct and everything is nicely packed when it arrives. My favorite orders are their pad see ew, pad thai, and mango sticky rice. They're all solid dishes and make for great left overs. This has become our favorite local Thai spot. My husband has been going here for years and have gotten to know the owners and workers, who are really nice. The food is just so consistently great, with really good portions. Though the restaurant has closed down their indoor dining since covid, they have recently opened for dining in as an option. Our favorite to get there are their curries and sub white rice with sticky rice. The flavor is always so good without fail. While seated waiting for my to go order I was asked to get up and allow a white couple to sit and take my table. There were chairs and booths in the back of the restaurant that were open. Me and my girlfriend were forced to stand in the front of the restaurant and wait on our food. Other customers came up to us saying how they thought what had transpired was wrong! By the way I am African American. This was a very bad experience for me and my girlfriend and not only did we walk out without receiving our food but we will never come back here. And the food ... oh, my. We had the beef jerky with sticky rice appetizer. I mean, damn! The beef is terrific alone, but whatever that green sauce is, the first ingredient must be "magic!" And the sticky rice - sticky and awesome. We also had the peanut curry. That's a one pepper heat index, which was pretty easy. Don't shy away if you're concerned about too much heat. I came here off a recommendation from a friend and decided to try since I was craving pad thai. Let me just say this is the WORST pad thai I have ever had in my life. Please for the love of god take the pad thai off your menu because it's inedible. I have never had a pad thai I didn't like but this tasted like sweet and like tomatoes. Those were the only flavor notes in this dish. I'm unsure of their house pad thai but I will not risk coming back to try anything else after trying that. I had the spring rolls as an appetizer which were okay except one of them was split open along the side which made it very difficult to eat. If you do make the same mistake as me then you can try to fix it by adding cilantro and green onion. Trust this review and get pad thai somewhere else! read more

My server, (I don't know how to spell his name) was the only one working the front and was so freaking amazing! I work in the restaurant industry and his service and care for me during my dinner was so great, he was attentive, funny, and so kind! This is my go-to for Thai in the area. Their panang curry is excellent - exactly what I'm looking for with the perfect consistency to eat with rice - the kind of curry where even if it had no meat or veggies in it I'd still chow down on nothing but it and a bowl of rice and be satisfied. Drunken noodles are also excellent and I'd highly recommend them. Prices are very reasonable for Thai in the Twin Cities and the portions are enough that generally two dishes will feed three of us. read more

First time trying this place after seeing a lot of great reviews. I stopped in to order takeout and the guy running the show provided great service. There were constantly delivery drivers stopping to pick up orders among others ordering just like I was. I had my food within 10 minutes and was on my way. I ordered the Red Curry and it was perfectly done. It had just the right amount of spice, and was a large portion. I was solo on this trip, but I would recommend ordering this with some other things to split family style if you have a group. This is a great find on central in NE. I had the mango dish and it was sooo good. Just what I was craving but could have used a little more spice to it. All the food at our table could have used a little more spice in general and the place itself could use a little cleaning which is the only reason I give this 4 stars. We also had the lobster rolls, shrimp spring rolls, and pork pot stickers - all very good and the best part was each sauce that came with them. YUM! We will be back here or definitely ordering take out. Love a food Thai place and this is closer to our home than others so very glad we found it! They make their cream cheese wontons fresh in house, and the wrap is a nice thickness for crispiness. Good ratio of wrap to cream cheese as well! I've always gotten curries and they are great! I especially enjoyed the green curry because it has so many different veggies in it. I went with a 3 for spice which was perfect- I tend to like things medium-hot. When I went there tonight, during the COVID-19 shutdown, the staff was very observant of 6 feet social distancing, etc. They seemed a bit slammed and I had to wait outside a bit but it was certainly worth the wait. My experience has only been with their delivery, but I've ordered from them multiple times and they have yet to disappoint food always come well packaged, good portions (each dish at least provides me 2 meals), and decent pricing. My go-to is usually drunken noodles or the khao hom fried rice, which the seasoning and quality is always consistent. Their Thai chicken wings was still crispy on the outside when delivered, and had good flavors and tender meat inside. My good track record with them motivated me to venture out and try a new dish, the khao soi noodle soup, and it was love at first bite. Creamy curry sauce packed with flavor, with tender meat and bouncy egg noodles, and crunch from the vegetables. The curry sauce was neither too watery not dense, and tasted like a hug in minneapolis winter, so now I look forward to exploring the rest of their menu to see what gems I've been missing out on my whole life!! read more
