Great food in a pub lacking identity. The service was a little slow and we were one of two tables in the space. It truly was a minor issue though. The steak was delicious and one option came with bacon wrapped scallops for $18. Nachos come in a huge portion - one should definitely share with friend(s). Guacamole came with it at no extra charge. However, refills on soda are not free. read more

COCKROACH UPDATE - Vancouver Coastal Health Inspector called me up today Just after visiting the restaurant. She did not find a cockroach at the table we were at but did find one behind the bar. The owner was aware of the cockroach infestation and has pest control in once per month. Now the owner was ordered to have them come in every two weeks. Beware if you dare to step in that place. read more

Short version - Cockroaches. Long version - July 19/21 @ 9:30pm - Been a customer over the years with pretty good food and great service. BUT, we just left tonight with a completely different view. Totally understanding the Covid situation and restaurants starting up, we continually had to ask for service. Then the unspeakable happened. A cockroach crawled across our table. We shoved it to the floor and immediately called the owner/server. He did not act surprised or apologized... at anytime. A few seconds later, while he was at our table, another cockroach was found on the arm of our chair. This time the owner saw it and eventually stamped his foot on it. A few minutes later, another cockroach was crawling by our feet. By this time, we had already eaten our appetizer, drank a half litre of wine and working on our main course. Again, not at any time was an apology given to us. We paid the entire bill (even with an 18% tip) and left. As we were going, I went to the owner and asked if he had a business card. He told me, "Not right now, I don't". We did not ask for or expect any refund or discount, given the hard times food services have gone through, but did send a report to the Vancouver Coastal Health For follow up. We will not go back until we learn it has been investigated. read more

Best place on Robson "bar none". Staff was great. Drinks are super strong. The wing special alone is worth the trip. Will be making this place a habit!!!!! read more

Stopped in around 4:00pm on a rainy day. Had a decent drink special and good food. Nice patio and good selection of beer and liquor. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Nice restaurant to go to instead of Korean restaurants that are in this area. read more

From the outside doesn't look like anything Special but their food is really good. I have had breakfast here many times because they have delicious eggs Benedict options, especially the asparagus Benny Came here for dinner tonight and ordered fish and chips. The fish was really fresh and the batter was golden and crispy. This was served with a generous portion of chips, salad and tarter sauce. Staff were friendly also read more

Great service, great food. Exceeded our expectations. Really good bloody Mary's. No waiting times.

After several people recommending this place i decided to give it a chance. The breakfast was alright. Nothing to write home about. the waitress basically ignored us the whole time, didn't ask us how the food was or anything. Will not return. read more

The bosses brother ran this place the two nights we were here and he is absolutely phenomenal. His service is great, he takes the time to talk to you and it was so fun that he was suggesting new drinks! We had a blast here. The music is great for adults in their 20s but the age here is versatile, low key and fun! read more

The best restaurant for everything! Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner! I love it, and strongly recommend it. the happy hour menu is also fantastic. read more

Sadly not impressed. The menu looks nice, but food was greasy , waited 40 min for food. Waitress was disinterested and got our order wrong. Brought coffee but no sugar. Etc. read more

We needed lunch quick, and this was the first thing we passed that wasn't crowded. Actually, there was no one. I got some kind of non memorable panini with ham, cheese, and veggies. It was ok but nothing good. The waitress was good enough. But I would only come here to drink in the future. Decent looking full bar. read more

I liked this place. Not quite enough to go back often but I would go back. I went here for lunch and it was deserted. My ham and bacon panini was really good and the fries were crispy and potato filled, just the way I like 'em. I cant complain about the service either because our waitress hurried over as soon as my glass ran dry or my plate was empty. There were only two tables of people in at the time though. My pint was cheap which made me happy and the food was decently priced. My only complaint would be the stained couch I almost sat on, not everything can be covered by a cheap looking blanket. read more

So first of all this is not anything else but mostly spicy Indian food- the food is great but the annoying part is that you don't get to know about the food till u actually sit and order! The owner was helping out but the service was painfully slow- overall the place is cramped and dingy- the biggest plus is the food- if the owner just was honest about his advertising this place would be great. Again I loved the food but not the slow service or the fact that I didn't know what I would be eating till the food was sitting across from me! read more

My friends and I came here to have some wings.. cheap 39cents wings... nothing stated outside on the advertisement board.. so we went in.. we wanted to order 70 wings but was advised that you must purchased beer to do so. Here are the stipulations: - 1 sleeve allows 10 wings order - 1 Litre allows 20 wings order - 2 litres allows 30 wings order So, we decided to order 2 2-l beers with 60 wings.. when the wings came, most of the wings were the size of your thumb to even pinky. That was all of it, the wings came cold. They were covered with warm sauce but the meat was cold. Waitress brought them back to get them reheated. Finally, we asked for the bill and we thought okay, lets just pay and get out... when the bill came, we noticed that we were CHARGED $1.98 for the flavor of the wings. we had 3 types - honey garlic, teriyaki, and hot. We got charged $1.98 x 3. RIDICULOUS!! read more

My girlfriend and I sat down to have breakfast this morning, we were told to seat our selves, and then no one came to serve us or even offer us water. After 15 minutes of servers walking past us we decided to get up and leave. read more

Everytime we come up to Vancouver, we always hit up this place at least once. Not always intentional, but we always end up here for at least one drink. I like it. No special reason. Maybe its the name. Staff is always friendly, drinks are good, but it can get a little crowded considering they're trying to cram as much seating as possible into this teeny-tiny location. read more

Come on down to Coco Rico for those 49 cent crunch nugs or as they like to call them "chicken wings". For real be left with the taste of going down on a dead chicken in your mouth. These delightfully small lil baby wangs are sauced up conservatively with some tangy trash water that they pulled out of an aquarium in a restaurant from China town. Soak in the ambiance of a hot topic with mad chill EDM banging in a room the size of your parents bedroom when they were poor and you were like 5 and ate a lot of Campbell's vegetable soup. All in all, it's whatever read more

The service was terrible. I practically had to break glass to get the attention of the woman working that Sunday afternoon we visited. I guess she forgot to order our food, and I would have started to think she was mute and deaf until two more tables came in and she waited on them toot-suite and seemingly competently. Even when I tried to pay our bill (she did bring us one round of drinks) she made me wait for her while she went and wiped off a few more menus. I really wanted to yell at her, but d.h. restrained me. read more

Crappiest place ever w worst service. I do not recommend this place. You have to chase the waitress down for everything. Lame.

Middle of the road food, horrible service. However, not a bad spot for people watching along Robson st and the pints are reasonably priced. As for the service, they tend to staff the place with ESL students and younger travellers. With the ESL girls, they had trouble with English but they were trying, and friendly/enthusiastic so I could easily cut them slack. Now the place just smacks of indifference. To the point of being comical at times. read more

I don't know why this place doesn't have higher reviews, the food was amazing- especially the penne with chicken and chorizo. Prices are great, happy hour was even better, service wasn't bad either. Definitely planning on returning soon. read more

A pleasant surprise! Late night eating in the west end that is NOT Korean food!! Appys, seafood, curry and more. Reasonably priced and good drink specials. read more

This place is two blocks away from my house and they have $4 beers. Their wings are pretty good. But they cost more if you take them to-go. Side sauce is extra too. Some celery and blue cheese would be nice too (The way every other place that sells wings does it). I've had their burger + lager special twice. The burger is good, but very diner-like. The atmosphere is cozy, large TVs showing sports, couple of booths, couple of dining tables. read more

From out of town. Looking for breakfast at 11am on a Friday. Found this place while walking down Robson St. Enjoyed the $7 breakfast special that got me: eggs, toast, sausage and hash browns. Everything was delicious and you couldn't beat that price for a good portion of food. My boyfriend fog the croissant and was satisfied. He was a little upset they forgot his hash browns and he told them right away, but they didn't come until after we were finished. The coffee was horrible, but I would come back for the breakfast special. read more

We ate here twice during our brief stay in Vancouver. It was walking distance from our hotel, and the food was tasty and reasonable. We scarfed down the Three Cheese Nachos and a couple of beers on the first visit. Loved the thin chips, real melted cheese, and jalapenos. The guacamole was okay...looked like the stuff you can buy at the grocery store. Came back with friends for dinner, and they kindly accommodated our under the weather friend with a plain grilled chicken breast and plate of rice. I didn't get to taste our other friend's brie and avocado grilled sandwich because he was enjoying it too much to share, but it looked wonderful, and I'll take his word for it that it was. My husband and I shared the beef burger. It came with bacon strips, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Good stuff! The fries were crispy and delicious. The servers were friendly. read more

This place was surprisingly decent. It's not a fancy place with amazing presentation but the food and service was done well. My party tried to go to a nearby restaurant and had a long wait. So we walked further down and stumbled across Coco Rico. Place wasn't busy but the pictures of the food looked decent. We were in a bit of a rush so we decided to try it out. Their eggs Benny, smoked salmon omelette and waffles were done decently and tasted good. I was pleasantly surprised with the food at this bar style restaurant. I didn't have any of the complaints others diners had in their review. read more

Great little spot for a drink on a weeknight or to finish up a night of drinking. Not a loud club, very chill

The server was really friendly but couldn't answer my questions about the menu (have a serious peach allergy so I have to be careful with breakfast foods). The decor is outdated & the radio station was cheesy, so it didn't create a nice atmosphere. The saving grace was how good my Belgian waffle was. Not quite the same as the ones I had in Brussels, but the best I've had in Canada so far. I'd come back here because it's close to my hotel, inexpensive and yummy. read more

Great cheap food, friendly and nice staff and cheap beer! Great for the neighbourhood and comfortable place.

My wife and I were staying in vancouver a few days and we really liked this place. Small but lively atmosphere, good deal on wings, and a surprisingly great tasting chicken quesadilla. waitress and bartender guy were both really friendly and chatted extensively with us while we drank. We sat at the rail. I would recommend this place. read more

We eat breakfast here almost every weekend. Love it. Service is great now. Food is better. Cozy place.

I have lived in Downtown Vancouver for 12 years, and never considered Coco Rico a place to go and eat . i thought it was just a bar with pub grub and wings. Just moved close by and I popped in one day, What a pleasant suprise!! I Thoroughly enjoyed a very tasty Chicken quesadilla!! I have been back many times since and have enjoyed their Yam Fries ,Fish and Chips , Hawaiian pizza ,Steak and Yes their Wings are ADDICTIVE!!!
