Warm and friendly when I arrived. I made an appointment online and it was easy! I was visiting for the first time as my nail tech was out of the country. My daughter and I went in on a whim to get pedi's and mani's. I should have checked the reviews before going. Probably some of the worst paint work I've ever had. My technician didn't paint my full nail bed. Another tech fixed it but it left the paint blotchy. Also, all these nail salons use that paraffin wax as part of their package and I truly believe it messes with the way the paint dries. I do want to note that the nail tech's were all super nice. I asked her for a fill French tip, and I wanted them to be squared. I usually come in here for pedicures, and they do a great job, but I HATEDDDDD my nails I got today. They looked better coming into the salon than when it came out. I asked the technician to fix the shape as much as she could and it still looks hideous, and the French part ....they're not even! I asked her to fix some of it for me but as I was sitting there, almost 3 hours go by and I'm just getting my nails done. A fill!!!!! I've been here a few times when I have plans in the area. Love the salon - it's so clean and bright. I love that they enforce COVID guidelines so you are always safe. Temperature is taken and then you are asked to wash your hands upon check in. Everyone is super nice here too. I've seen Lisa and Rose for my dip manicure. Both are excellent and I've always loved my nails. They take their time making sure everything is done correctly. They check in to make sure you're happy with the shape and color. Their nail art is amazing! They have designs you can select from or you can tell them what you want during the appointment. Overall wonderful visit each time. This is the place to go if you want nice nails that last three weeks. The service is efficient, and the cost is affordable. They don't tack on upcharges for every little thing like other salons. I have been at least 10 times to the salon with no issues but yesterday during my pedicure, Lisa, who did a wonderful job on my nails last month cut part of my toe off during the pedicure. I really wanted to love this place. I loved the cleanliness, professionalism, and the calm and inviting atmosphere. I felt clean, safe, and taken care of. The space is beautiful, down to the tiny details of phone holders, bag hooks, and ring dishes. I went in for a gel manicure and was not pleased with my service or how it was handled. As I was finishing, I noticed a few imperfections, but thought it might be the lighting inside. As I left the building I noticed 4 nails to have marks on them. 2 had brushstroke marks, 2 other had tiny bumps. I walked in to share the mistakes. My technician walked me back and said she would take care of it. In the attempt to get rid of the tiny bumps in 2 nails, and fix the topcoat of the other, she messed up the other two with bumps. I'm assuming the bumps were caused by painting over little filing pieces. So in fixing the mistake, it caused more mistakes. I couldn't even keep track of how many times she would fix it, refile, repaint, I would show bumps, refile, repaint, point out mistakes. I left feeling like I overpaid for what I got. I am willing to go back and try another technician. But as I am looking at my nails, a week out, the gel is already chipping from near the cuticle. I have never had a gel manicure not last this long. I saw all the staff members working on different clients at the long table towards the front of the store. I asked the lady who greeted me if they do facials for men as well as women. Again the woman who greeted me looked towards her boss and her boss said with a sour look on her face said only back and hands..or was it arms...?? I look at the take out menu that wasn't here before. Looks like the massage I saw last time is now on the menu. The massage is for foot, neck or shoulders only...unless you ask...I did not. The tech was rude and kept tugging at my hand which I asked multiple times to please be gentle. When she was finished with my nails it looked awful and I was not happy at all.. I asked her to please redo it and make it thinner as it looked awful and she refused but I was persistent and she agreed and was not happy about it. When fixing it she kept pulling and tugging my hand. When she was done without waiting for her to paint it I paid and left. We pay to go to a salon to get serviced... we pay and not them .. it is not free and they are not forced take the job and it is not cheap. I was with Emily until I was transferred to Christina. My nails aren't even, the sides of my nails are in pain because they filed to much, paint IS horrible. I felt a burning sensation from the electric nail file. Paid $55 and could not stay for the top coat, I was too disappointed to ask for a different nail tech and the service that was given. Christina kept getting up to do other things and was not focused on doing my nails. So I went to Potomac Nails for the first time on my birthday on Jan. 15th to treat myself. I got a pedicure and decided to try the SNS dip for my nails. I normally go to Serenity nails (which is good but not great) but they were closed that day and I knew Potomac Nails was their sister salon. The salon is GORGEOUS. Definitely a nice vibe. Bonus points for that. They took care of me pretty quickly but it was mid day on a Tuesday so I'm not sure what it's like during busy hours. I get in the pedicure chair and the water is very cold. I ask my technician, Chi, to warm it up and she does. Unfortunately, it got cold quickly so I had do ask several times to warm it up. Honestly, not really a big deal. Chi gave me the aromatic neck warmer to wear, which was nice. There was a couple a few chairs down who were offered a drink: water or wine. I waited a few minutes to see if Chi would offer me a drink and she never did. This seems to happen to me a lot at the other salon, too. Am I not worthy of a drink? Do I look like a bad tipper and not worth the extra effort? Do I look too young (I'm 31 BTW)? Finally I asked what seemed like the manager if I could have a glass of wine and she obliged. My pedicure was good. Not amazing, not horrible. Could have had more callous removal but I also didn't speak up for myself. Decent massage. Then came the SNS manicure. Like I said, first time having it so I want sure what to expect. Chi sliced the heck out of me when she was cutting my cuticles and when she was filing my nails. By the time I went home, I had cuts on EVERY SINGLE ONE of my cuticles/fingers! I usually can withstand a little aggressiveness here and there but I had to pull away a few times because it hurt so badly. I was bleeding. The SNS looked fine but chipped THE NEXT DAY! I thought it was supposed to last longer than a gel manicure. By the 2nd day another chip. By the weekend several fingers had significant chips. It was to the point where I had to take it off myself (soaked it in acetone, came right off). I didn't even have it for a week. No back massage at the end of the manicure which I usually (not always) get from Serenity, but I guess I just assumed wrongly since they were sister salons that they would have the same practice. I'm thinking about trying them one more time and maybe making an appointment with a better technician, but I'm not sure who to ask for. read more

Really disappointed in my experience here. I had an appointment, arrived on time and was told it would be just a bit longer. I guess "a bit" is subjective. I waited 35 minutes before I was asked if I still wanted my full set...? I asked how much longer and the response was "well we can do a regular manicure." That's not what I came in for.
